January Transfer Window
Maintaining the quality to keep us in top 4 might just do that, but to do anything in the playoffs we will likely need something extra...So if we are serious this year then a loan deal, or two, will be necessary... Alternatively we could make the playoffs again and fall flat on our arses, again. Time to gamble...

Inverness CT -V- Ayr Utd
Good all round performance I thought, everyone did their job well without too much fuss. Was it a poor Ayr or did we stifle them?? I'd say the latter - apart from a spell after HT , Carson and Trafford owned the middle of the park ( sorry Alan) . They seem to have clicked and are getting their roles nailed down. Carson linking up with Keatings and particularly White was good to watch & I hope this can develop further. Only concern was some of the tackling was reckless - both Rooney & Donaldson picked up knocks from tackles they didn't have to make, although they stayed on its a risk that we shouldn't have to take - another spell out for Tremarco again too. Get them patched up & readied for the next game, make this winter run like the one from 09/10.

Alloa -V- Inverness CT
The only team we need to worry about is the next one we face. Too often we trip ourselves up with results we take for granted, whilst looking too far down the line. Remember where we could have been if we hadn't blown up against the bottom three teams! We are our own worst enemy. One game at a time please.

Scottish Cup 4th Round Draw
I'd wager Alloa fans are equally as enthused about drawing us.

Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup SF Draw
True, apart from appointing referees & linesman and dealing with all player registrations and disciplinary procedures, the SFA has nothing to do with it.

New directors & AGM
After leaving at the end of the 2017 relegation season I wonder what's tempted them back? Impressed by a new vision to take the club forward , glad to see the back of a few faces, or maybe a bit of both?

Have we improved compared to last season?
Still dont have a 'go to' player who can score when we're behind or even in a tight game and kick start a revival, too often we push hard to get back in and fall further behind.

Think Sheerin/Christie combo with Gary Warren as coach is just as unlikely - did you just pick your favourite legends?

Have we improved compared to last season?
Stats paint the picture you want to see... Wins up...good Draws down...good Defeats up...bad Looks good that we have two 'improved' boxes checked but are less draws an improvement if you have lost most of those games you might have drawn?? Not really ? A few more games into the season and the stats will need serious reworking to paint a rosy picture in our current form. Bottom line, optimism is good but quarter season stats can turn bad quickly. Stick to the realism...it doesn't let you down.

Arbroath Away Team
I think it's an old firm attitude to think we should be up there challenging every year regardless of personnel. It's a tough league and without real strength in key areas you don't stand much of a chance. Livingston did it, but only through the playoffs and with a mean defence.

Arbroath Away Team
I remember the teams of those (wonder)years, sure they could have an off game here or there, maybe ship 4 or 5 goals at home but they ALWAYS came back strong the next game.Guaranteed! Damn this nostalgia!

Arbroath Away Team
Too many balls over the top causing chaos between them...that's not a lack of midfield protection, that's just defending 101. There are issues on the flanks where they are stepping out to cover the missing Tremarco or Rooney too often...but if the manager wants his full backs wandering so far up the pitch he has to organise extra cover.

Arbroath Away Team
They've not become bad overnight, but standards have slipped with several clangers thrown in to some average performances. Donaldson & Mccart IMO are at their best when both are in form and confidence is high, which neither can claim both of these attributes at the moment. I think it's an area that a player should be rested if struggling as unchecked it can really hinder the whole backline. Time for Brad?? Or will he be covering for Rooneys injury? ...and also - yes Carl does seem to be toiling with the ground he used to cover easily in games.

Time to go shopping for centre backs, ours used to be so tight, now they are leaking goals at an alarming rate .
