  1. How about running a business that has nothing to do with football, but channel the revenues from said business into the footballing side of the business...perhaps another 'division' of ICTFC Ltd...? If there are entrepreneurs interested in coming on board then maybe this is something that can convince them to get involved - using their acumen to generate funds for the club as well as profits for the business...
  2. So for starters we'd like a town centre stadium, with decent parking and safe standing areas for atmosphere. ?
  3. Stootie was indeed Roshie's dad, and he passed away in July of this year.
  4. I don't think that was the first cross into the box this season, it's just that we don't often score from them. The forward man has to have enough mobility to get into position to attack the cross and if its above head height he is then looking at the prospect of jumping to connect with it - two facets that might be more suited to Todorov - or not as we haven't seen that much of him really.
  5. There's maybe a few candidates who should be more vocal on the pitch, having the captain do it is, I think, somehow outdated, the captain is more of a figurehead of the club/team now. I'd expect the centrebacks to communicate better with one of them taking control of situations. Middle of the park should be dictating the play vocally as well as with the ball. Thinking about it , it's strange how often you hear the away team more than us during the game.
  6. Today was a reality check - the reality being if we have a couple of our top guys having a stinker then we're going to struggle. Were we complacent? Maybe. Let's put this one behind us and focus on a big week ahead.
  7. We certainly weren't boring back then, nice and direct with big Terry in charge.
  8. Storey has brought his full bag of tricks today, unfortunately most of them have worked on himself. He is fast though.
  9. It's pie in the sky but proper coaches in schools would be the place to start - giving every kid a chance from a young age. I've always been a bit sceptical of the wee kiddy coaching schemes, which tend to be focussed on generating income and putting the clubs name out into the community. This is somewhere that ICT have picked up but were very slow off the mark back in the day - I had my kids in with Ross County for several years as the staff at ICT weren't returning calls or giving us info on times locations, etc. Although they wore ICT tops they had a great time with the county coaches. Interestingly enough my oldest was in the same group as Roddy MacGregor...I guess they were more coaches than scouts.
  10. Players will develop differently with higher levels of coaching...better coaching - better results...its a well known fact that with lesser coaching levels academies are merely doing lower league clubs a favour - hence Fife Elite is common to four clubs.
  11. Nope, their cash cow is in fact bidding to take over the club and give it to the fans group, Thistle For Ever, now that a chinese/american consortium are no longer in the running, which is why Colin Weir pulled his millions out. Not looking forward to being in the championship with an Ian McCall team with money. I'm hoping for a strong start on Saturday, can't let Partick settle on McCalls first league game. Make sure their heads are down by half-time, then finish them off early in the second half.
  12. It was a discussion with a colleague from Dunfermline that reminded me about that Fife Elite and that they had benefited from getting some of the talented graduates - not sure if there is a draft type system involved like NFL etc, but I'm pretty sure all those clubs involved have signed players from the academy.
  13. Not sure how those figures add up to 1.6 million, maybe that's part of our problem ;) Regarding the youth development, have a look at the 'Fife Elite Academy' as an example of how four regionally connected teams can pool together for one academy, this is one way of reducing the burden of clubs individual youth setups. This ,in theory should focus the highest quality coaching on a smaller number of players, increasing the chances of successful graduates.
  14. As long as the new club was just called Inverness FC I'm sure the fan base would grow quite quickly ?
  15. Is there? Time for the seer to enlighten us...
  16. I thought there were two 'fort ' players getting on the scoresheet today , Nevison & Andrew according to their Twitter feed. Good clean sheet for the defensive unit.
  17. A game of two halves, one good one slightly disjointed - should've been three or four goals to the good but for some poor finishing. Happy with a clean sheet, I guess dobbie forgot his shooting boots today.
  18. It's a well travelled road, by young and old all year round - yes it can be hazardous but these situations can generally be assessed as and when the need arises. The A96 isn't much fun either and the traffic on that is way worse...wonder how Daniel gets to Elgin in the winter??
  19. It's perhaps this EGM and others like it in the future are a way of engaging shareholders and possible financial partners on a regular basis, as well as keeping interested parties informed of the on going cashflow situation. Prudence? Maybe, it doesn't always have to be doom and gloom.
  20. Yes bottom line is it's the bodies coming through the gates that lets us down, again, and that is one reason why investors (not that there is any chance of financial return to warrant the use of the word) shy away from such a poorly supported club. There seems to be a misconception that one big sugar daddy can come in and make it rain, but in reality a lot of the better supported clubs named above have a large group of smaller donators which keep things flowing.
  21. Doesn't inflation apply to football?
  22. Thestevekelly always brings a smile to my face, good to hear his 'art ' used in the pods...nice touch.
  23. I seem to recall we couldn't finish off Alloa in a cup final many years ago...
  24. Not that I think anyone in a Scotland shirt on Monday night did anything to shout about it was noticeable that Ryan gave everything from the first whistle, he never his and was always demanding the ball, or trying to win it off the Belgians. At times he reminds me of his father in the old second division - a pass or two ahead of his team mates. I think he can go up another level and keep developing, whether we make money or not it would be a fine thing for a local lad to do so well. Celtic are just a stepping stone...?
  25. Satan

    Top scorer

He's certainly our most tattooed forward.
