Hibernian -V- ICT : matchday thread
We were awesome Terrific preformance, and not a single long ball. Midfield was terrific, Hibs couldn't get a look in. Not a fan of Wood, but he ran his socks off and gave Jones a hell of a time. Esson's save was brilliant, but in all honesty, he didn't have much else to do. Think Rosscoe deserves a mention, he gets slated on here when he turns in a bad preformance, but he was excellent today (one odd moment involving a throw in aside). Vigurs just oozes class, and combined with Black's bite and Duncan's positional awareness, that is our ideal central midfield. Cowie and Imrie put in a terrific shift, bit more composure late on and Imrie could have got on the scoresheet. One little grumble, but surely left foot left wing, right foot right wing? Could actually see the effectiveness when we were on the break, with those two able to cut inside and out and switch sides at will, but surely when the ball is in "open play" if you like, and Black pings it wide, it would make more sense for Cowie and Imrie to be able to stick in a half decent cross.

Team fer Easter Road ?
No idea, never heard of him.

Who should be in goals on Saturday?
All footballers should be able to pass the ball. Some are better then others. Fraser is a terrific athlete compared to the vast majority of goalkeepers in the SPL.

Still think Fraser is the better keeper, and our number 1, however, the situation was similar after the Kilmarnock fiasco last year. Fraser got dropped for one game, and from then on in his form really picked up. I think it's Jim Spence that raves about Fraser, rates him very highly. Hit the nail on the head a few months back when he said Fraser's biggest asset was his terrific athleticism. The reason goalkeepers dont peak until they are older then other footballers is that the number one asset for a keeper is experience. Fraser has raw talent (more than Brown did if you ask me.) What he needs to work on are things like positional sense, when not to come for a cross, keeping concentration for the full 90, distributng the ball better etc. These things will come with time.

Team fer Easter Road ?
From what I've seen they carry their greatest threat when playing togethor.

Arsene Wenger
Generally speaking, Wenger will moan about most things. However, if you watched the Stoke game, there were some really malicious tackles. Still, behind Ferguson, the most talented manager in english football of the last 15 years.

Proctor
I really hope not, Proc is pysh at centre back... Duff should have been in there on saturday, at least he's played with granty in that position, and he was match fit, yet another weird decision from the management. I dont know where this Proctor is pish at centre back has come from. He may well have had stinker on saturday, but on the other occasions I have seen him at centre back, he has looked composed and athletic. In fact, found this ditty at the bottom of the page. http://community.caleythistleonline.com/in...?showtopic=5793 Pish at centre back indeed So he played well against Gretna , Mr Burley will surely be calling soon :thumb04: He played very well in the games after that aswell.

POLL: Time to bin Brew?
Perhaps you fail to notice we have only gained 25 points from this year If the season ran from January to October, we'd be serious contenders for the drop. 2002/2003 - Motherwell finish bottom with 28 points 2003/2004 - Partick Thistle finish bottom with 26 points 2004/2005 - Dundee finish bottom with 33 points 2006/2007 - Dunfermline finish bottom with 32 points The simple fact is a season runs for 9 months. In 10 months we have amassed a whopping 25 points. How you can defend Brewster is astounding... I knew things werent good but that is amazing Those stastics aren't exactly fair, when you consider that there were no league fixtures for three of the 10 months.

The two months till January thread
Rated him pretty highly, till I saw that in a league of probably the same standard as the first division, he has scored 3 goals in 29 appearances. As for Dods, in pure football terms, I'm sure he'd be open to coming back here, however, he moved to go back closer to the central belt. Think he may move into the first division with the likes of Partick and Dundee before he comes back here.

The two months till January thread
Ok, its still a bit away, but need something to get away from the doom and gloom. General consensous is that we need a centre back and a striker. If Zander isn't going to get a look in, some width would be nice aswell. I'd punt for Steven Milne, was mentioned a few moths back, and from what I've seen of him, he can really play.

So easy to say where the 'Buck Stops'!
How are players being put second to Brewster's ego. Brewster has a large number of faults, but there seems to be this idea that he is an arrogant man. Don't think he comes across as that at all, and on the occasions where I have met him, he genuinely goes out of his way to speak to you and make time for you.

Team fer Easter Road ?
The Proctor jokes are getting very old. I would like: Esson Proctor Duff Munro McBain Cowie Black Vigurs Imrie Rooney Barrowman With Zander and/or Bazza to come on at half time, someone to run at Bamba. But as Jay says: Fraser will probably play Hastings will probably play Tokely will probably play McCallister (or Wood) will probably play

Barry Wilson
I meant at the same time as Wilson, although the sarcasm was much appreciated

R.I.P. Brookes Mileson
Read the other day they took 150 up to Edinburgh for a game in a league that I think is two places below the East of Scotland league. Thats about as much as we average for the likes of Motherwell.

Fair enough. However, if were going to take risks, why not throw Zander in?

Saturday's P&J: "I managed to help the team a little bit when I came back on-loan from St Johnstone. "We turned things round towards the end of the season and if the manager thinks a wee bit of experience is needed then I will be ready. "I am not stupid, I realise it is going to be hard for me to last a game out and for the manager to play me, especially at places like Ibrox." ?I don?t really know if I can last for a full 90 minutes, I have played a few games in the reserves but it is never the same." Which proves my point....nowhere does he say he can't last 90 minutes.

Proctor
Was Brewster therefore tactically inept when he put Duff on for the second half not knowing if he was going to have a stinker?? I am saying that that is the way most on here would have reacted should Duff have started and had a howler, not that I personally think that.

Novo for Scotland?
- Barry Wilson
Wilson himself has said that he can no longer last a full game. My opinion is that it is time Wilson stepped up to the coaching role that lets face it has been on a plate for him for years. I remember Dundee Utd at Tannadice I think when Christie was unavailable (not sure if it was the game he missed after his mother passed or not), Barry took the pre-match warm up. You could see that the players respected him, but also trusted him, in a way they do not trust Brewster. Most on here agreed that had he been the "right" side of 30, he would have been the only choice for captain when Dods left, a natural leader, and a clever one at that.- Barry Wilson
Am I not right in think that his contract is up in a month or so?- BREW OR SFL ?
No, as things stand were 11th. - Barry Wilson
