A serious statement of intent from Savage. We now have a squad which should be strong enough to dominate this league. We need to be putting down a marker at Kelty today and wiping out the points deduction by next Saturday.. Massively up for the season ahead. Time for folk to back the team in numbers home and away.
  2. We had masses of possession last night but we desperately lack an end product in the final third. Frustratingly, Bavidge and his Dad were in the crowd at Spain Park. I'm hearing that a number of English clubs are after him - if we can't entice him back we really do need to find a striker to supplement Billy who was forced to play 90 minutes on a very warm evening. On a more positive note Sole is RAPID and looks like he could potentially do some damage in League 1.
  3. Great news. Will be raising a celebratory glass (or two) tonight.

In the words of Easter Ross oligarch Uncle Roy they're a "local community club" who somehow managed to start 11 non-Scots in the first game at Almondvale and upped the "local" content by starting the utter galoot Jordan White at home. Based on their lamentable second half performance last night there's no guarantee they'll bounce straight back-up. Please God give us an away game in Dingwall in one of the cups next season and 4 league games in season 2026-2027.
  5. Alan Savage's latest press conference seemingly kicked-off at 230. Fingers crossed for some positive news.
  6. Any news from the Alan Savage presser?
  7. Extremely disappointing news. I thought Cammy Harper's move to Carlisle was ill advised but Keith has trumped that. He must have the worst agent in Scottish football. A massive sideways move for a lad who should be aiming much higher than a struggling Championship side.
  8. Bottom line is we should be aiming for 4th and, injuries permitting, I think we have a fair chance of achieving this objective. On a separate note it was my first post-match visit to Bar 94 on Saturday as my 6 year old nephew was after autographs and photos with the players. To a man they were accommodating, enthusiastic and very pleasant towards both myself and the little fella. It's a great initiative and a huge thank you to all the players for their time on Saturday.
  9. Unfortunately all 5 North of Scotland goals were scored by County players.
  10. Various articles in Irish media and Daily Ranger regarding Derry City's apparent interest in Danny Devine. I would very much hope that this doesn't come to fruition.
  11. Yes, a pretty uplifting article from the Jambo squirrel/lavvy lurker, ex of this parish. I'm sure he'll be having a wee look to see how it's received. Fair play mun.
  12. P&J and Record both reporting we're in for Bavidge and Stewart. Bavidge is sponsored by Orion so no huge surprise there. Bavidge has only started three games at Ayr and come off the bench for 11 cameo appearances, scoring 2 goals against ten man Falkirk a couple of weeks back. Stewart was on loan to Peterhead for second half of last season. I believe one or both may have already been training with us. We could certainly be doing with the reinforcements.
  13. Some of the greatest limbs in the away end since Cowdenbeath 3 ICT4 in October 1996 or the Hearts League Cup semi-final at Easter Road in 2014. I'm lucky enough to have been present at all three of these monumental comebacks but Saturday was extra special given the current circumstances. A massive shot in the arm for everyone involved in the club. Onwards and upwards.
  14. Given the logistics involved and the weather warnings issued by the met office the game should have been called off yesterday on safety grounds. An extremely poor show from both the SPFL and Queens.
  15. I find it incredibly depressing that the SPFL's sole response to clubs falling into insolvency in the aftermath of a global pandemic and cost of living crisis is to penalise them 15 points in an attempt to ensure they're relegated and face even greater financial hardship. It really is a diabolical abdication of any duty of care or solidarity with member clubs. Not a good look for the game in Scotland and highlights the fact that the SPFL is simply not fit for purpose.
