:lol::lol: My dad was always planning to walk the Wednesday to Saturday game, and after speaking to him yesterday he was pleased with the draw Sneck to dunfermline and it's 2 and a half days mate  , cause the Wednesday game is a night match.

Don't know what Gringo's group will do now though? they might walk from Livi to Dunfermline via Edinburgh or something. Or even better just make it a pub crawl

ok how many people are doing it

Well the script was for the Gringo's group to do Saturday to Saturday with about 7 people i think. My dad was always doing Wednesday to Saturday by himself. I think he's crazy, he's just running through the night with no sleep and no support van or anything.

I guess its bad enough having to wait for the split before knowing where you have to walk to, without addtional complications with a midweek game as well. It can't be much fun planning accomodation either.

Feck me .. i was going to wait fer 2007 BUT if it is a seven day, pub crawling walk from Liviscum to Dumbfarmlife.. then count me feckin in.

Thought you might approve of such an idea. Now back to the old coogers forum with you

Who can't?

I'll be leaving TCS at after the Falkirk game (I wonder if Yogi will remember HM1 to his old place?) and I'm planning to walk through the night on the Dores road, arriving in Fort Augustus around dawn. Then it's up and over the Corrieyairick Pass as the sun rises and down into Laggan where I plan to take a wee pit stop at the Pottery bunkhouse where we stayed over on HMs 2 and 3.

From there it's onward through Dalwhinnie and, weather permitting, down the side of Loch Garry, a spot of yomping, and down into Kinloch Rannoch... round the side of Schiehallion (probably won't have time to conquer it this time around... boo hiss) and down the hill into Kenmore to finish day 1.

After a luxurious overnight stay and a slap up breakfast, I plan to head south once more up the big hill out of Kenmore, down into Amulree, cross the river then yomp a further 15 miles cutting out both Perth and Crieff, before crossing the golf course at Gleneagles and on to Auchterader. The day will be completed by a further yomp over the Ochils down into Dollar or thereabouts for yet another night's uninterrupted sleep.

Saturday will dawn dry and bright (aye, that'll be right...) leaving the final twelve miles after breakfeast and the final question... "what time does the Elizabethan open for business and can I dislodge Gringo Junior's crown on the pool table"... ;o)

Team Gringo are, I understand, still contemplating their route following the sinking of the SPL Atlantic Conveyor and with it their dreams of a helicopter ride over the Highlands. However I'm sure the old soldier will come up with something more challenging than a pub crawl and a big bridge....

Watch this space! 8)

By the way, Team Gringo is populated by Gringo, Dozza (Mrs G), Gringo Jnr, EGG, Beatonio and Stigothedump. Go guys!

Its a shame about the fixtures, even if you ran it past the SPL, they still probably wouldnt be of help. Anyway good luck to all and I am sure you will works omething out.

Pub crawl sounds good to me

Any locals suggest a route taking in say 20 pubs a day :P

How about a trip to Berwick for a pint and a fag?

:lol::lol::lol::lol: F4G is a nono? Is this a non-smoking forum

I can confirm that Team Gringo will depart the TCS early on Sunday 30 Apr and head down to East End Park, Dunfermline for the final game of the season. More details of the day to day route will be annouced as soon as we put it all together. But first we have to find a driver - see other thread.

We will, hopefully, finish the walk earlier on Wednesday in order to head back up the road on the bus for the Falkirk game as see Yompa off.

From Tursdee onwards, yow'll be able to re-enact the scene from Butch Cassidy where they turn round, looking back down the valley and quote the famous line "who are those guys"... 8)

Your a tough mistress Grinog.... or should that be master? I like the fact you have got the drive to change the walk just to make it a 140 miler. Poor Beatonio hope he didn't have his sights set on the 20 miles :( .

pub crawl sounds great just be sure to pop in to glenrothes after dunfermline

You'd think the Governors at the SPL would know about Highland Marches by now! It gives them better publicity than many of the news worthy items they come up with. With this in mind you'd think they would make that a factor when constructing the post split fixture list... then again they may have been caught off guard like the rest off us, with the expectation of a top six finish...

The SPL will never take the needs of the supporters into consideration. Their beloved OF are more important than any fan will ever be.

Well next year Lauraness and i are hopefully joining in lol so be prepared to get the ears yapped off ya ohh and loads off questions cause we are very nosey !!!!!

You could always get an insight to HM'ing on Sunday 30th by walking with us to Carrbridge. Only 24 miles. Easy peasy. We start at 8 a.m.!
