Hamilton Academical have signed Tom Parratt after the 20-year-old defender was released by Inverness.

The former Scotland Under-19 cap left Birmingham City 12 months ago for Caley Thistle but made just one appearance for the Scottish Premier League club.

But he started on the bench for Accies against Queen's Park in the CIS Cup tie at Hampden Park on Tuesday.

Caley Thistle boss Terry Christie said: "We both agreed that it would be best if he got a fresh start elsewhere."

Inverness-born Parratt grew up in the United States, where his father is director of the Iowa City Alliance Soccer Club.
