UNDER 15 SQUAD

The Under 15 squad departed Inverness last Thursday to head to Lake Como in Italy to take part in the Como Champions Cup, one of the biggest Easter football tournaments in Europe.

On Friday they defeated Italian side Giovane FC 1-0 when Duncan Corbett netted from a Ryan Watson cross in the 10th minute. The next day they had two fixtures, in the first one they beat San Guiseppe FC 3-0 with goals from Shaun Matheson, Ryan Christie and Stephen MacKenzie. Up next were David Nakhed FA with a Aidan Dreever hat-trick and Jack Mulgrew strike seeing off the Lebanese side.

This put the boys into the final on Sunday morning against Greensborough from the USA and after a tense 0-0 result the boys ran out 3-2 winners in a penalty shoot out with goalkeeper Kyle Robertson the hero saving two spot kicks.

Well done, indeed. :023: :cry03: :cry03:

All praise to them. Very encouraging results.

Huge well done to the lads who always seem to do us proud at these tournaments. Last time I was speaking to Charlie Christie he was saying that we have some of the best youngsters we've ever had in the youth setup at the moment. Not like the first team squad need any more pressure, but getting back to the SPL and re-establishing better links from youth through to the first team is as vital as anything else we're working towards at the moment.

David Nakhed FA deserve an award for one of the funniest team names in the world as well
