<p><strong>PLAYER SPONSORSHIP: 2011-12 Season</strong></p>

<p><strong>Player we are sponsoring</strong> - Looks like it will be <strong>SHANE SUTHERLAND</strong> (based on Poll results so far). Other sponsorships will depend on the level of "membership" the "Player Sponsor" group reaches. </p>

<p>The cost to sponsor a player is as follows: </p>

<ul>

<li>Home Shirt = £350 +vat (£420 total)</li>

<li>Away Shirt = £250 +vat (£300 total)</li>

<li>Training Kit= £100 +vat (£120 total)</li>

<li>Boots = £100 +vat (£120 total)</li>

</ul>

<p>To take part in this sponsorship you will need to upgrade your site membership to the "Player Sponsor" group. We in turn will use all money collected from memberships of this group to purchase player sponsorships from the club. The cost to join this group is £10.00 (+75p fee if subscribing online) but as many users have expressed a wish to contribute more than the minimum requirement for sponsorship you may also opt to purchase double (£20 +fee) or triple (£30 +fee) membership too ..... (if you want more than triple membership, please send me a PM).</p>

<p>All our site membership upgrades are handled securely via Paypal which will accept direct payment from the majority of credit/debit cards so it should be easy enough to upgrade your membership whether you live in Sneck or somewhere thousands of miles from there. </p>

<p>Should you prefer to join the group manually, you have a couple of different options. We have made arrangements with Senior Moderator TM4TJ (themann4thejob) and with Site Member Caley100 (Richard) to accept payments in person at the Innes Bar during pre-match / pre-season gatherings, alternatively you may also pay L_G (Laura) at the Club Shop at the stadium. If you join the group using this method, we will add you to the sponsor group manually - just make sure you tell one of them your site username if they dont already know it ! </p>

<p>Once we know how many members have joined the group, we will make a decision on what gets sponsored. The first item will be the selected player's Home Kit ... but the more members who upgrade to "Player Sponsor" membership, the more we can sponsor. At the end of the season, members of our sponsor group will be selected at random to receive any gifts we may receive from the club ...... </p>

ok folks, with the latest additions to our sponsor group (thanks Old Caley Girl) we are at 44 paid and 3 pledged but still to pay .....

42 is the magic number for Shane's home kit so that is covered in full.

54 is the magic number for the next item (Gavin's training kit) so we are 10 short (7 assuming the 3 unpaid pledges pay - which I am sure they will). This item is also covered as we (CTO) will make up any shortfall as previously noted.

66 is the magic number to also sponsor Rossco's boots ... we need to make objective 2 and get a few pledges into this to make it all 3 items again.

Can anyone wanting to join the sponsor group please let us know ... and can those who may be in the Innes this weekend see if the regular suspects are also in for it this year ?????

I didnt mind donating, seeing as this site is completely free for its forum users and considering the amount of time I spend on here, a ten pound donation doesn't seem that much. Even without taking into account the fact that I may win a shirt etc, at the end of the season.

Looks like we will be calling it a day at 47 members then - assuming the 3 who are currently not paid do so asap.

It's a little disappointing not to have secured any interest whatsoever from non-members who took part in previous years via the Innes Bar but so be it. It is what it is as they say.

As it stands we would therefore sponsor the main item (Shane's home kit), and assuming outstanding payments are received, also the second item (Gavin's training kit) but it would seem we are not fit to lace Rossco's boots far less sponsor them ........ as we didnt get to that level of membership.

If anyone wants to add their name, then please do so quickly, and if anyone wants to gee up people from last year who go to the Innes but may not come on here then that too would be appreciated.

Remember, you dont have to pay via paypal, its just easier that way. If you have an online fear of financial transactions you can give cash to TM4TJ, Caley100, CaleyD or to Laura in the Club Shop who will also accept it on our behalf.

If we get nothing further by end of next week then we will confirm the two items with the club and stop there.

I swear my mind is going. I thought I'd done the sponsorship after you so kindly changed my email address, Scotty.....but if I have, you haven't noticed....so I suspect that I haven't. :blush: Put me down for one £10 which I'll get off by paypal right now, (or as sure as Caithness is windy I'll forget again),,,,,and if you remind me after the 20th, I'll send another £10 (but I will need to be reminded as auld age has come and my memory tends to go walkabout!)

Thanks 'OddQuine' - Have put you down for 2 - 1 paid (which we confirm receipt of), and one which we will try to remember to remind you about. That takes us to 50 and although it is short of our 68 target, we will still manage to sort something out to get all 3 items sponsored I am sure.

Marks, Caley100 & CaleyStan - assuming you still want to take part on the pledges you made ? If so, can you let me know how payment will be organised ? You can obviously do PayPal, but equally you can pay CaleyD, LG (at club shop), TM4TJ etc ......

ok - closing this thread now - we have done enough chasing and enough cajoling for payments .....

The list has 52 people with 3 unpaid. The unpaid ones (3) are now officially removed from the sponsorship membership so the final figure is 49. CTO will pay the shortfall and we will sponsor all three items

After some discussions, it was suggested that players be sponsored as "CaleyThistleOnline Supporters" rather than "Innes Bar & Internutters" as we have had zero contribution from the bar and have no reason to advertise them on that basis. The final item (Rossco's boots) will be named as "CaleyThistleOnline.com" as we have paid the majority of it but any gift from the club will be distributed randomly to one of the sponsor member in the same way as the others ........

If anyone has any questions or comments regarding sponsorship in this thread, please send me a PM.

KDM Evolution Trophy 2026/27
SPFL announces expanded KDM Evolution Trophy format
The SPFL has today announced the format of the KDM Evolution Trophy for season 2026/27.
Following the success of last season’s revamped competition – which included an inaugural league phase – season 2026/27 will now see more clubs compete in an expanded 40-club league phase.
The following 10 guest clubs across the Scottish Highland Football League and the Scottish Lowland Football League East and West have accepted invitations into this season’s competition:
Banks o’ Dee
Berwick Rangers
Bonnyrigg Rose
Clachnacuddin
Clydebank
Cowdenbeath
Cumbernauld Colts
Formartine United
Fraserburgh
Gala Fairydean Rovers
They will join 10 William Hill League 1, 10 William Hill League 2 and 10 William Hill Premiership B-teams in the tournament’s opening round.
Clubs participating in the league phase will be split into four pots by division, with each club playing two different opponents from each other pot, totalling six matches. William Hill Premiership B-teams will again play all league phase matches away from home.
Points gained by clubs across six matchdays will feed into one league table, with the top 22 clubs qualifying for the knock-out Round of 32.
William Hill Championship clubs will enter the competition in the Round of 32 as seeded clubs, alongside teams finishing in the top six of the league phase, with the remainder of the competition following a traditional knock-out format.
Member clubs and the Scottish FA considered the new set-up hugely beneficial for youth players in providing more opportunities in the key ‘transition phase’ of ages 16-21, as players move from the academy environment to senior football. Youth prospects aged 15 will continue to be eligible to participate in the KDM Evolution Trophy, following a successful trial. The Scottish FA Cooperation System, which was designed to strengthen youth development in Scotland, has also been extended.
Neil Doncaster, group chief executive of the SPFL, said: “We are delighted to build on the success of last season’s new-look competition by inviting 10 guest clubs to participate in next season’s tournament, which will be sure to benefit the community clubs we have invited and provide new challenges for our member clubs.
“While we will continue to minimise travel with broadly regionalised league phase matches, following discussions with our members, home clubs will now retain gate receipts in full in the league phase, to support clubs financially.”
Over £1.3 million in prize money was shared with clubs for last season’s KDM Evolution Trophy, which was an increase of more than 50% on the previous year. The SPFL is pleased to confirm that last season’s prize money has been maintained for the 2026/27 tournament, with the winners receiving £150,000, and the runners-up £100,000.
The Scottish-based, internationally operating construction firm, KDM Group, remain proud title sponsors of the competition.
Iain Jones, Chief Executive of KDM Group, said: “We are extremely excited to continue our partnership with the KDM Evolution Trophy after a highly successful first season of the new-look competition. Next season’s expanded format promises to deliver even more excitement and opportunities to clubs and players across the country, which reflects KDM Group’s support for Scottish football across all levels of the game.”

The KDM Evolution Trophy league phase will commence on the midweek of August 11/12, where participants will look to better Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s run to the final last season. Championship clubs will again enter at the Round of 32 stage on November 3/4, with the 2026/27 showpiece final taking place on either the weekend of March 27/28 or April 3/4.
The fixtures for the 2026/27 KDM Evolution Trophy league phase will be published on Thursday 16 July at 1.00pm.
The full schedule of prize money for the KDM Evolution Trophy is set out below:
Winners: £150,000
Runners-up: £100,000
Eliminated in semi-finals: £75,000
Eliminated in quarter-finals: £50,000
Eliminated in Round of 16: £40,000
Eliminated in Round of 32: £30,000
Eliminated in league phase: £15,000 - £18,500 (depending on final league position)

I agree with that.
I can't see Argentina repeating and my Brazilian colleague tells me that they are not good right now, although in Brazilian terms that likely translates to only being good enough for the quarters or semis! No other country springs to mind as an eventual winner other than France or Spain although Spain also have a bit of controversy going on after naming no Real Madrid players to the squad.

Don't know what to make of Haiti. That's a pretty good result but looking at the squad list there are only a handful of players at recognisable clubs. One of them - Derrick Etienne Jr - plays for Toronto so I see him every week. A pacy winger, who will be familiar with the stadium in Boston, but someone who flatters to deceive most weeks. Scored something like 8 in 46 games for Haiti and only 5 in 60 for Toronto but popped up just a couple of weeks ago to score an absolute banger against Charlotte. Hopefully that is him done scoring for the season - internationally at least!
Not that I put much faith in the rankings, but it does have to be noted that Haiti are 83rd and New Zealand are 85th. The two lowest ranked teams in the tournament. Even Cape Verde (69) and Curacao (82) are ahead of them. Scotland are at #43. What surprised me - in the rankings - is that Ghana, who I thought were higher ranked, are listed at 74th spot so round of the 'worst five' according to the rankings.
