I heard this week of the sad passing of former Inverness Thistle player, captain, manager and legend Ian Cumming. He was the driving force in the midfield of the great Jags teams of the 70's. He was a player who could read the game well, who could play some neat football, could take a good penalty and could mix it if the game required it. I am so glad that I had the privilege of watching him play and meeting him. Another legend from the past sadly gone.

Totally agree, a fantastic player and kinda shows up how the skills levels of today's players have declined.

I recall the name. Likely just a bit before my time tho. RIP

He had been ill for some considerable time. He was, as has been said, the mainstay of that wonderful double title winning Jags team of the early 70s.

He may now sadly be gone but he leaves us Jags fans of a certain vintage with memories that we still cherish nearly five decades on.

Always sad to lose a legend for any Inverness Club.  Sincere sympathy to his loved ones.

All the top players look as if they have lots of time to make a pass and Ian Cumming was one of them.
