Pardon me if this has been picked up in another thread, but according to the club’s Wikipedia entry, Seventy7 is already listed as the “Owner” of ICTFC. Because Mr Makwana has said he doesn’t expect significant movement until the end of this month, I am taking this more likely to be one of these things that can happen on Wikipedia when an entry is made by an unofficial source, and that a “Citation Needed” should be in place. Or is it?

I imagine that Seventy7 would become “Owners” when or if the company legally acquires the 50.48% of the voting power that Ketan Makwana has said he intends to own…. if a narrow majority holding is considered to constitute ownership.

So has Ketan Makwana now paid for a majority shareholding, or is this simply the kind of misinformation that can occur due to the way Wikipedia works?

You are asking if Wikipedia is entirely reliable as a definitive source of factual and accurate information?! 
 

That ownership bit was added by a user called Coatbridge Chancellor on 26 July. He lists his interests as Rangers and Scottish football.

 

There was a time when I used to edit/update some stuff on Wikipedia, but I noticed when looking at this that I am now blocked from editing, for various reasons that they list. My IP address seems to have more red flags than Ketan Makwana does!

Fron the edit history, the change was made on 26th July by a user called "Coatbridge Chancellor", who spends much of their day updating Scottish football entries.

They describe themselves thus:  "My main interests on Wikipedia are Rangers and Association football, particularly Scottish football."

So now we know what Scot Gardiner does all day

I've never edited a Wikipedia page before, but I might just do this, to see what happens.  Would we agree that the current owners are "private shareholders"?

It's been changed back to Seventy7.  The person who made the edit says that "The club have confirmed the change of majority shareholder."

There has never been a “majority shareholder”.

Through the looking glass stuff.

• They have two weeks to report if a director changes.
• It's also two weeks for Person of Significant Control (PSC) update, but this is just to update information in ICT's PSC register (and then another 14 days to tell Companies House, so effectively a month +)
• They have up to one month to tell Companies House if they issue more shares in ICT.

So, if they have managed to somehow use ordinary resolutions to a greater effect/in a different spirit, it's possible, but the question is could they have marshalled a bare majority without any fanfare?

As with the late company accounts and AGM, few are labouring under the illusion that good governance and compliance are the order of the day...

Nah, Gardiner would spend all day on Wikipedia writing about himself, looking in the mirror, and then writing some more about himself ... all whilst telling himself what a great job he is doing!
