Back to Business as Usual

After the scenes, limbs and euphoria of a McTominay overhead bicycle stunner, a Tierney peach and a Kenny Fekkin MacLean whopper, there's a more mundane task ahead as Queen of the South are our visitors on Saturday. It's scheduled for a 17:30pm kick-off in League1 as we endeavour to consolidate our position at the top of the table. We managed that without playing last weekend but Queens can be a difficult proposition at times and are not to be underestimated. Queens will be looking to get involved in the race for a place, currently only five points behind the Caley Jags. Weather wise it's been a pretty chilly week with snow showers leaving a fine blanket on the surface and we are taking nothing for granted by getting the covers down early before the frost gets any worse.

The late kick-off time can mean only one thing. Get yer Gaelic phrase books out as BBC Alba will be covering this one live. We are on the telly!

Was out this evening and managed to avoid finding out the score then watched the full match when I got home. Think that’s the first time I’ve ever done that, and I’m certainly glad I did. Queens looked poor, but we hardly put a foot wrong and it was right up there with our best performances of the season.

I’m not sure there had ever been a week when both ICT and Scotland won and scored 4 goals!

I think that was near a perfect performance. 👏

We Scots have been spoilt for goals this week, and tonight’s first was another beauty 😃

On another note, what’s happening with the north car park? The grass embankment has been removed between the north stand and northernmost car park gate, and replaced with a wooden barrier. Seems unnecessary?

We’ve been in the Lake District since Friday and the hotel doesn’t have any tellys 🤷🏻‍♂️ however I will be watching it later on.

Ok everyone, don’t mention the score. I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it!

First full match I've seen this season. Really impressed with the standard of football, and great to get a few goals. And another clean sheet as well. We could do with another one next Tuesday.

Well done to all concerned

Very good performance, I thought Mackinonn was very good but every player offered something. QOTS were extremely poor though

No, listen, the game’s just started and Kell’s been on, and the Vigurs chants were good. I hope we can get an early goal if I’m being honest with you.

I was out on Saturday evening but left my phone at home to avoid alerts and watched it first thing yesterday morning "as live".

I thought the midfield were all excellent, to a man. Through the game I kept changing my mind on MoM but did eventually settle on McKinnon - two assists and a goal really deserve the plaudits. When the entire midfield play well it makes life so much easier for the defence and attack. Long may it continue.

Getting the early goal was key too. Doing this stops the opposition parking the bus looking for a 0-0 and enables more chances to be created as the opponent has to look to get forward more than they planned.

As someone who has only seen the two TV games and watched the YouTube goals/highlights for the rest I did want to mention Munro. As a keeper they really only appear when letting in a goal if you survive on YouTube clips, so even though he didn't really have any spectacular saves to make I thought he played well. Calmly dominated his area, made good decisions and claimed the ball well when he needed to. The defence are also clearly comfortable passing to him when necessary. He deserved the clean sheet.

Let's just hope that all the good work and performance can be maintained tomorrow night.

SUPERB PERFORMANCE.

Mackinnon reminds me a lot of gerard. Not at the same level but in terms of mentality and impact he is astonishing.

Calum Macleod is also developing into a great player.

With performances this good our biggest risk is the winter transfer window and especially next seasons squad depletion if promoted.

If we can extend any of these guys now is the time to do it.

We shouldnt stop them leaving for their development but we should stop them leaving for free.

I’ve been at that chippie and made the mistake of not reading the menu and realising before I ordered that a large fish supper had two big fish whilst a small one just had one…..

Next time it’s a small one for me as the big one was far too big for me (and my wife).

If you can eat a large one, then respect!

No I can’t, me and the wife share also, even the single one.

First came across it on the way home from watching grandson play for RC u10 at Dundee. On way home asked him and his father did they want a fish supper. Yes was the answer. Bought them one each and didn’t get anything for my self, didn’t take long for both of them to be offering me some of theirs.

Although it cost 23 quid it always tastes better when you think it’s for free…. I think. 🫤
