League 1 Average Crowds 2025/26

Not specifically ICT, but it is relevent to ICT so hopefully alright posted here.

For anyone interested in such things, here are the average crowds in League 1 this season, with each team's biggest and smallest crowd. Not surprisingly ICT were far and away the best supported, and also were the opponent for three of the other clubs biggest crowd. East Fife were the biggest draw to two other clubs. Despite having the lowest average Kelty were not the lowest crowd for any club when they visited. Cove were the opponent for Hamilton's biggest and smallest crowd of the season. ICT's lowest crowd was bigger than every other club's best crowd of the season.

How do full time clubs survive on such meagre income? Cove, QOS and Hamilton and next up Ross County. How do part time clubs survive on such meagre income? Discuss.

One of my wife's relatives once explained to me that Stenny stayed afloat thanks to the income from their plastic pitch, which was hired out and in use practically every day or night of the week. This was back in the days before they did any ground-sharing, which will also bring in money. They also have a couple of 5-a-side artificial pitches at one end of the ground.

That was a few years ago, so I don't know what the current situation is. Looking at their average crowd size, you can see that they might well struggle in the Championship.

I haven't looked at their accounts (perhaps thats something to do over the summer) but in addition to the plastic pitch hire as already mentioned perhaps they are just really good at getting in sponsorship income and corporate dollar. I guess part time clubs also have a lower salary cost base.

I know an ex chairman who once said to me the aim for these part time sides is to be the cream of league one without really making the next step up. Once that happens you need to look at going full time and that’s when it’s not going to be as viable.

Cove aren't full time as far as I'm aware.

18 May 2023 — In what is an historic move for Cove Rangers FC, the club can today announce that it will be moving to a full-time basis for the 2023-24 season

As far as I know they are still full time>
