Brewster's registration.

When does Brewster's registration as a player expire? It's just that I was having a look at the official site and he is still listed as #28 and a striker, surely he can't believe that he has another season in him?

Regardless of whether he thinks he has another season in him or not, it doesn't do any harm for him to keep his registration active "just in case".

AFAIK registrations are submitted each year so he would have submitted it for 2008/09 (unless of course the official site has it wrong).

Its not uncommon for teams to have recently retired players still listed as players for emergencies ... wasnt there one team last year where their reserve goalkeeping coach ended up on the bench ..... lets face it, Brew could still do a decent job up front for us if he is keeping up his fitness (which I presume he will be given his reputation for that). His dodgy shoulder means we probably wouldnt see him unless things were so dire he had to pull on a shirt, but no harm in having him registered .... its not like there is a quota and he is keeping someone else out.

True, true and thinking about it Brew was probably one of the better strikers we have had at ICT. If he is fit and able to play then maybe there isn't such a necessity to sign an "experienced" forward.

Didn't Duncan Shearer re-register as a player some time after he retired - to cover a shortage of regular first team players for the bench?

As i recall he gave an interview saying he would remain as a player by contract in case of a striker injury crisis.

The best. We perhaps did not see him at his peak (although he was bloody good), but Brew is one of Scotlands top strikers from the past decade or so.
