  1. From the Scotsman (21/10/2010) TOP CHEFS BACK THE P.R.I.C.K.S. TO FOREWARN ICT By Ewan McMurray Top chefs Gordon Ramsay, Nigella Lawson, Delia Smith and John Kelly have voiced their support for the Pie Reputation and Integrity for the Catering of Kilmarnock Society, in the wake of concerns that the supporters of Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C. may be planning to inflict another injurious verbal and choral assault on the manager of Kilmarnock F.C., in reference to the allegation that the previous managers' obesity may have been closely linked to the over consumption of pies available from the club catering facilities. Previous concerns were raised to the F.A.R.T.S organisation (Fat Aberdonian Reprobate Taunting Salvation) in respect of the prolonged 45 minute plus ?assault?, by factions known as the MOB and the SESH army, at the Scottish Cup Tie last season which allegedly led to the demise of the previous manager, Jimmy fat **** Calderwood. Agents for Mr Calderwood claim that he suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder following the psychological ?bullying? ordeal, had a nervous breakdown which ultimately resulted in his resignation. It is reported that Mr Calderbank now suffers from chronic insomnia where he has recurrent flashbacks / nightmares on the theme of kilted Highlanders dancing in a conga around his bed, whilst deriding him about his obesity. He is rumoured to be currently 6 stones in weight and resembles a bright orange, sun dried Satsuma. It is doubtful whether he will ever be able to return to football management although Ross County FC feel that he may be a ready made replacement for Craig Brewster. South Ayrshire Police and Group 4 Security have been in discussion with the CaleyAwaywithTerryandMo ?firm? who are rumoured to be an amalgamation of the two notorious factions previously known as the MOB and the SESH Army. The authorities feel that the dialogue has been fruitful and a fat, old, kilted, bald, grey haired spokesman has assured Kilmarnock FC that there will be no repetition of the incessant chanting of the ?Jimmy Says aye to a Killie Pie? taunt at this weekends? fixture. It appears that the CaleyAwaywithTerryandMo ?firm? have sought legal advice from their Finnish solicitors and have agreed to serenade the present managerial incumbent, Mixu Packalotofkilliefeckinpiesinmafatscandinaviangutlining, in a ?softer|? Finnish version of the chant. ?Mixu says JAA jotta Killie paistos? or perhaps an abridged version highlighting the Swedish word for Yes - ? Mixu says JAA to a Killie pie? will be caroused. A spokesman for the Finnish F.A, responded - ? Ajaa kaikki mik? te haluta koska me hankkia disowned ep?kuntoinen hedelm?llinen h?lm? ?

  2. Minimum of 18 would be my vote, but that's not going to happen any time soon. The BBC have it spot on with the 14 teams and it has been pretty much agreed and only requires rubber stamping. A move to 14 teams with the unequal split is, IMO, even more ridiculous than the current setup. They talk about making changes for "the good of the game", but little or no attention is given to the customers desires. Not only is that not good for the game, but is very short sighted when it comes to the business aspect. 14 teams will do NOTHING to improve things, an 8/6 split will do NOTHING to improve things and we'll all be sitting here in another year or two talking over the next stupid idea they come up with. The fact of the matter, as far as I am concerned, is that they (the SPL) can't be seen to do nothing and would rather put through a ridiculous change which will have next to no impact on the SPL clubs, than make proper changes for the long term...even if that did come with some short term negatives.

  3. Our great run last season included some excellent performances, but crucially included several games where we learnt the art of not losing when playing poorly. In that sense, a point yesterday was a great outcome because far too many players were lacklustre with St Johnstone looking the best side - they put far more pressure on us when we had possession and where more inventive when they had possession. It really is important that we pick up points even when playing poorly. We are also up to 4th which is fantastic - 7 places higher than I would be happy with at the end of the season. But a big downside for me was Foran. He was generally lacklustre and only showed a bit of passion later in the game when he was pushed forward. As a captain, I saw nothing from him in encouraging the team - quite the reverse in fact. When the ball didn't break the way he might have wished he just seemed to curse his luck and give up rather than getting back into position. And later in the game a long crossfield ball was played to the excellent Shinnie who, under pressure, kept the ball in and put a firm pass to Foran who was unable to control it. Foran's reaction was to shout "what the f*ck was that" at Shinnie. He kept abusing the youngster as Shinnie shrugged and then ran back into position, meanwhile Foran was paying no attention to where the ball was. As a captain he should be encouraging the youngsters and Shinnie was actually showing a lot more enterprise and passion than Foran. Shinnie's pass was no worse than most of what Foran had contributed in the match. Foran was well out of order. I hope Terry will be letting him know in no uncertain terms what is expected of him both as a player and a captain because IMHO he fell well short on both counts yesterday.

  4. Personally I hope Fraser does well in Malta. I can't help thinking there has been undeserved negativity aimed at him, not only in this thread but other similar ones, since he left us. Admittedly he isn't as good a keeper as his predecessor, Mark Brown, nor his successor, Ryan Esson, but nevertheless I feel he did an adequate job for us. I prefer to remember him more favourably for his 'out of this world' save against Celtic, which as much as anything else won that memorable 3-2 game for us. Good luck to him.

  6. ICTChris just posted this on P&B. Have to admit I love TBs outlook. This is the season we're going to finish top six (at least). I'm sure home form will come between now and January.

  7. Out of interest, how many times have you actually been to Killie? I go to every Killie game and in terms of nearby boozers and nice surroundings, Rugby Park is one of the best, if not the best in the SPL. Within walking distance of the train station, lovely housing around it, The Portman, The Hunting Lodge, Brass and Granite, Macks Bar, The Howard all within 5 mins walk of the ground, not to mention the Sports Bar at the ground and the Hotel. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a trip up to Inverness (the 49 seater bus from my local is already full for the overnighter in December) but a ground in the middle of nowhere is hardly fan friendly is it? Sorry for the rant but I hate it when folk dismiss Killie as a shitehole in terms of going for the football. Places like Ibrox, Parkhead and Hamilton are ***** for days out.

  8. It is fitting that a preview such as this one coincides with the introduction of an article rating system .... someone mentioned a couple of weeks back how it might be nice to be able to give the equivalent of green dots to our previews and reports and it was a relatively easy ask. The rating system is now in effect for stories and the comments you can add to them ......
