  1. BUTCHER LANDS A PRECIOUS DEFENDER by Ewan McMurray Injury ridden Inverness Caledonian Thistle plunged in to the short term loan market once again and landed a young but highly rated, old style centre half. Victoria McDuff was signed on a four month loan from local outfit Dynamo Duntelchaig who are flying high in the Dores and District Premier League. McDuff may even be throwh in to the Parkhead cauldron, partnering David Proctor. Victoria's arrival may also lead to Roman Golobart going back to Wigan under the controversial "Aldred ruling". Maurice Mispass defended the move by emphasising: "The background boys have researched this one in full. Their attention was initially attracted by the front cover story in a reputable daily tabloid and Victoria's dad sent us a video, although it was all about cheerleading. There were evidently some concerns that Victoria has been out for a couple of seasons prior to a full return in August, due to a cruciate ligament problem, but the boys have even secured a full Medical Clearance certificate from the Owen Hargreaves Rehabilatation Clinic. Terry Butcher added: "It's certainly very frustrating when people are criticising us. Nobody appears to appreciate that last week we had seventeen players out. It's really hard to take because a lot of the (missing) players are match-winners. We have to make sure everyone else does their job and does it well and grasps the opportunity, because there are opportunities there for everyone. And I would not be adverse to throwing in Victoria for her debut tomorrow either. I did say jokingly that the first 11 off the bus will start the game, so why not an 11 year old as well.

  3. Can someone explain to me what the problem is as I don't see one? The EU rules ensure that any member state or part of cannot discriminate against any other sovereign member state. Within an member state, it is acceptable to have devolved regions/states (in our case a nation) that operates independently within the confines of the devolved settlement. Using this settlement the Scottish Government what to ensure that education is funded correctly and that, irrespective of your financial background you are able to pursue to the maximum of your ability with fees being removed as a barrier. This is the case for ever child who has undertaken their education (barriers in place to avoid short term moves) in the Scottish system irrespective of creed, colour or nationality. In accordance with EU rules, the same criteria are applied to all who wish to apply from any sovereign state. The issue with the other component parts of the (dis)United Kingdom is that the do not wish to fund tuition fees for anyone and, accordingly, the apply these rules across the board. Choice being exercised by those that govern those areas. Why should they be entitled to benefit from devolved funding, allocated and prioritised by the devolved region?

  4. This! Butcher has alot to justify to us with the amount of changes he has made over the summer. Injuries have been a major disruption but its not a strong enough excuse. Our form of the previous season was a reflection of how settled our squad was, strange how much can happen in a year. So far the only consistent factors in our form this season are that we have no clean sheets and that out of the 8 games weve played 3 of them have seen us drop points in the last few minutes. This is simply not good enough, regardless. However despite our hurrendous start i havent heard anyone calling for Butcher's head and i dont think we should. He isnt one to walk away from a challenge, he's made his changes and will stick with them. After the Celtic game we have some key games against the likes of St Mirren and Dunfermline, these are the games i think that will define where we stand for the season, however if we fail to take anything from these games then i will start to worry.

  5. Since when has any manager taken advice from fans? I also doubt your ticket entitles you to anything more than entry to the stadium and watching a game within the rules of the stadium. Voicing your opinion is optional. If fans can't take it, then don't dish it out. Get over it.

  6. I do not feel that TB has to justify himself to any fan! Some changes to our settled squad were for cash, some to strengthen the squad and some to reduce the payroll and yes, our current first team is not TB's current first team choice due to injury, however to state that this is an EXCUSE when it is an obvious FACT, disappoints me! Could it be that we are reaping the harvest we should expect being such a wee club, so far from the central belt and the pundits favourite to go down this year. What top class players can we attract? Perhaps TB should be applauded for doing what he is doing with the players he has but that is not the way of the ICT fan ... they want to shake their heads or ask for an apology or offer a veiled threat 'other fans would be calling for his head' Well here is one fan who is aware that the reduction of money on offer is reflected in the play on the park, for all teams in the SPL. It may be that our manager will create a much better team by managing/training the current squad but I don't see a large ability gap between us and the current fifth place team.
