  1. Well, chaps and chapesses, I am pleased to add a positive note to my last post. Today I received a very nice email from Mr Cameron, apologising for the delay in acknowledging my letter to the club. Apparently he was on holiday when it arrived and the staff put it in the safe for safe-keeping until he arrived back. After that he was able to access it and, during a visit to Raigmore hospital with couple of the players to see a very sick young fan, he has made a beautiful gesture by inviting the very sick lad and his mother to be a guest of the club in a secluded private box at the next match at home, then to be shown the usual excellent club hospitality in the boardroom and to meet the players and so on. Whether the boy can be allowed out of the hospital to go to the game prior to his recovery, and then going off to Australia to join his father who has now emigrated there and awaits the safe arrival of his family, may be problematical but from all accounts he is ecstatic and elevated in spirit already. I think he may well be there on the day and I know from my own expereince of 4 years ago ,when I was treated equally-well upon a rare visit to the club, the memories will be with him for the rest of his life. You may take the boy away from the club but you can't take the club out of the boy's heart and memories. It would be nice if this uplifting little story could be printed by the local Courier so that all concerned in Inverness can see that the club's officials are indeed highly-motivated and do care about the young and the disadvantaged in the town . Anybody care to give the newspaper a call - it's certainly a newsworthy event? If the young man cannot get to the match then I have Mr Cameron's assurance that the club ..."will find a suitable candidate or candidates to ......take up the offer....and will et me know the outcome by email. I am very happy that all's well that ends well and that the club's attitude in general has beeen amply vindicated by this fine gesture . I do thank Kenny Cameron for his thoughtfulness in doing this and for advising me promptly of the club's thoughts and actions

Bloody ESPN. This will disrupt my normal friday night routine of meeting grumpy old men in No.27 for a few pints and retiring at a reasonable time with an ovaltine. Suppose I'll just have to have a couple after the game. Now, where's that Miami place the boy's always on about?
  3. Despite my reservations about McKay,s ability up front, the questionable tactics, the heavy touch of Sutherland, what is not in question is the desire and determination of this team. Shouted myself hoarse today at Tynecastle and very proud of the hard earned point from ICT. Great effort from 10 men determined to succeed
  4. Polwarth and Christie up from against St jOhnstone, we are back in 1992.
  5. No prediction from me - I'm just pleased that there's no chance of it being Ally McCoist.

Are you seriously saying that a player being ordered off in a game in circumstances that happen every week in every league is going to make you not buy a season ticket? With all due respect, your logic seems a bit odd. The ref sent him off for serious foul play - that tackle. Nothing else comes into it or is allowed to come into it. BTW, we've had more than two red cards a season every year in the SPL since 07-08. Not excusing Foran here, he didn't need to make that challenge, but a bit of perspective would be good.

Scarlet, I'm afraid from what you've said there, I find it a bit difficult to decide who you think will roast whom!

I said to wee Davy 10 min before, that Foran needs to calm down, or the ref will get fed up with him. But, the fans that were there, seen the crap decisions that were going against us. Foran stood up for our players, arguing the point with the ref at every strange, and wrong decision. Along with few bad tackle against Foran that went unpunished, it was no suprise to see him carded. The tackle, IMO was a Yellow. But with Foran doing the Captains job of speaking up for his players, the ref used it as an opportunity to get rid of him. maybe he should have shown more restraint. But every fan in the stand, was also raging at the decisions Madden was making.
  9. Don't ya just love it.... "Ha'way the Toon....."
  10. Yup...after saying it I was scared not to...

Ok, so he screwed up and people can be angry at that if they wish...but it makes no sense cutting off your nose to spite your face by benching him purely for the sake of it. What good does that do anyone?
  12. A month or so ago I sent a sum of money to the club addressed to Mr Cameron. I expressed the wish that they allocate seats to either disabled children or orphans in Inverness for the first game of the season. There were no other rrestrictive requirements. That was it. I rationalised in my mind that at this time the club really needed a financial boost and that doing this would achieve two purposes. a. Give these disadvantaged youngsters a chance, maybe the first chance they have ever had , to sit in the stand and see Caley Thistle first hand and maybe introduce a new dimension into their lives that might stimulate their emotions . b. By doing so, raise the club's profile in the town and suggest that they really are a family and people -orientated club with genuine feeling of compassion for such as these youngsters, The cheque in pounds was cashed, but so far I have not even had the courtesy of an acknowledgement and I therefore have no idea whether my request was adopted or not. I am still going to be interested in the team but I can't help wondering if the new management , since George Fraser went, has got much of clue about P.R. -- or has it reached the stage, as in many modern companies nowadays it ppears, where the letters are opened by the receptionists who is the one who decides what has to be done about it , including whether a reply is merited or not-- meaning did the upper echelons of management even see my letter?
