  4. Showing my age here, but you've reminded me of this classic!!! (copied/pasted from a sports website poll of worst ever Premiership players) Clumsy, inept, awkward, embarrassing and awful. Yes Ali Dia really was a one-off, but for all the wrong reasons. The Senegalese footballer, if you can call him that, managed to spectacularly con Southampton manager Graeme Souness into playing him in a Premier League match against Leeds United on the 23rd of November 1996. A bogus football agent rang Souness claiming he had a Senegal international striker available called Ali Dia who was the cousin of former world footballer of the year George Weah. Gullible Souness lapped it up and decided to give ‘Weah’s cousin’ a one month contract, handing him his Premier League debut in the match against Leeds. Dia came on as a substitute for Matthew Le Tissier after 32 minutes, but his performance was so utterly dreadful that he was substituted in the 53rd minute. Dia missed an open goal and was unable to control the ball. Anyway, after being subbed by Souness, Dia unsurprisingly never played for the Saints again. He did in fact re-surface at Gateshead several months later, only to find himself woefully off the pace required at Conference standard.

  5. Not sure about Terry being a Conservative being relevant to be honest. I wouldn't care about anyone's views at all, we are all entitled to have our own beliefs and by highlighting Di Canio's the media are guilty of what they would have us think of him.

  6. Why would he be number two? He has been more reliable than Ryan this season and has barring a couple of games after the cup exit been 1st choice. I'm not having a 'girn' about nothing, we have a talented player who wants to play at ICT next year but who is being sidelined in favour of someone who hasn't been as good.

  7. Delighted about Doran, has worked his erse off every game this season, if he can add more goals to his game he has the potential to become a top player.

  8. I can't believe people are actually talking about Europe.(before anything is confirmed) I'm delighted we are in the top 6.

  9. I know you are just backing up your employers CB, but even you have to admit that as the "only" cut, its a fairly significant one !!! As for the £2 a week fee, and the not so subtle "UK based" comment ... those of us overseas cant pay the BBC for a service they dont offer to overseas listeners when they restrict their coverage to uk only. I would happily pay the BBC the same £6 a month it costs me to maintain a UK based VPN connection through a third party. Dont think either the BBC or indeed the SPL have grasped the global nature of the Internet and the futility of geo-blocking coverage for what is not viewed as a "top tier" league by anyone other than the fans of it .........

  11. Strongly against the proposal to split top league and 2nd league after 22 games and zero the points - this has been tried in Switzerland and has been thrown out -so why would we want to go that road - a bigger league is what is required and should be put into place at the end of next season when everyone knows what they are playing for

  12. Get rid of the split I hate it. Makes planning for games a nightmare.
