Solid performance overall. Livi started both the first and second halves strongly and Nouble had Harper on toast on numerous occasions. Moyo on the other flank also looked lively but Carson was more alert to him and even when he was beaten the final ball was often dreadful. Holt had an outrageous long range effort from about 40 yards that looked like it was going to sail in over the head of Rdigers but somehow he scrambled back and tipped the ball onto the bar before gathering it up. Deas (I think) had a good header off the bar from a Harper free kick before we took the lead. Carson snuffed out a Livi attack on the bye line and after a couple of quick passes, Scott Allardice sent a glorious pass out to the left flank to the feet of MacKay who got the ball under control before breezing past the Livi full back and he sent a low cross to the back post for Samuels to tuck away from a few yards out. Only other major talking point of the first half was a pretty reckless challenge from Fitzwater on Allardice. It looked really bad at the time and probably should have seen the Livi defender sent off. Again, Livi dominated the start of the half before we got settled down again. The drama kicked off when a long clearance downfield by Ridgers got Samuels in behind the Livi defence and Stryjek came rushing out and leathered him in the face Street Fighter style. Out came the red card and Livi were down to 10. From the free kick harper drew a good save from the replacement keeper before a piece of MacKay magic saw us extend the lead. A raking pass sent Mackay away and he ghosted past Devlin using some kind of elastico type skill that had us on our feet. He drove into the box and stabbed an effort towards goal which looked like it may have gone in possibly with a touch off a Livi defender. It was a stunning piece of skill that I hope we get to see back again. After this we were pretty comfortable and Dodds started top change things a lot to give more players minutes but this led to us becoming a little disjointed as players were frequently moved around the pitch into different positions. Livi started to come back into things and got a deserved goal back when Holt rolled his man at the edge of the box and dispatched a low drive past Ridgers. Then Oakley gave away a penalty with needless pull of a shirt but Holt sent the resultant spot kick well over the bar and we saw the rest of the game out. A deserved win but we almost gave it away at the end. Delaney, Deas and MacKay were all very good and look ready to go already. Others still need a bit more game time to get fully up to speed.

He took a bad knock a few minutes earlier, a really bad foul which earned a booking, Kelly I think. Livi seemed to be targeting him. An incredible pass to Danny who took off like a bat out of hell and set up the first goal. Second goal was sheer genius from Daniel.

In an ideal world I would have liked to have seen one more signing defensively. However more than happy with the squad at present and looks like a good blend of youth and experience to kick on for what's hopefully a very positive start to the season

Our under 20 team drew 0-0 with Lossiemouth tonight. A Lossiemouth fan said we were nothing special although our numbers 3 and 6 were the stand outs. Ridgers was in goal.

Thanks for the comments STFU. I can assure you, that one thing the Supporters Trust is not going to be is compliant to the wishes of the CEO! Of course, by definition, supporters support the club and the club needs its supporters and therefore the interests of club and supporters will often be the same. The relationship between club and Trust needs to be one of constructive partnership where we can ensure the views of supporters are properly taken account of when decisions affecting supporters are made. The Trust has told the club that we would be happy to lead a fundraising campaign for a covering for the West Stand, but repeated requests for a meeting to discuss this went unanswered. Initiatives like this need constructive engagement with various sections of our support so that when fundraising starts, people will know exactly what we are fundraising for and that it has the backing of the various groups of supporters impacted by it. You mention our disabled followers. This group has always been a priority for us and a few years ago colleagues put in a significant amount of work identifying external funding and making proposals to improve the facilities for disabled fans. I wasn't personally involved in this and I don't know the details, but unfortunately these proposals weren't pursued at the time. It has been suggested that a project to put a roof on the West Stand could be combined with improved facilities there for our disabled supporters. However, our soundings are that many disabled supporters would much rather be integrated with friends and family in the Main and North stands than have a separate (albeit very functional) designated area. This just illustrates how crucial it is to have engagement with the people impacted by proposals. There are lots of things the Trust would like to do, but to be effective, the Trust needs to be seen to be much more representative than we currently are. The Trust can't properly represent supporters if supporters don't join the Trust. It is only £5 a year and £1 for U16s. We are most grateful for those supporters who have recently joined the Trust but we urgently need far more to follow their lead.

Now that Daniel McKay is back and Roddy Macgregor is fully fit again we have, on their day,two of the most creative players in the division. Hopefully, the forwards can take advantage of that creativity.

Oh well, that's a bonus in itself
