  1. Do the Wasps still have a sting in their tail With just seven League1 games left this season we are off to face another form side on the fringe of the promotion race. Alloa Athletic were flying and looking like real contenders until they suffered two defeats in a row at Peterhead and Montrose, conceding eight goals in the process and that might just have knocked the stuffing out of them. However, they are still one of three teams that have reaped twelve points from their last six games, the others being Stenhousemuir and ourselves. Recreation Park has never been an easy place to extricate points from, but needs must and we should be looking to take all three with the Warriors likely to grind out another win over Kelty Hearts on Saturday. Of the three previous fixtures against Alloa, the Caley Jags won the two home games. Liam Sole's deflected strike was enough to win the first one and a brace from Zimba and a strike from Alonge won the other home fixture 3-1. In the away fixture, Luis Longstaff's goal on half time was cancelled out by Cameron O'Donnell with 15 minutes remaining in a 1-1 draw. Inverness will be Soleless again on Saturday and next week as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Match/Ticket/Info QotS Friends Ticket Offer KDM Final Tickets ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We bounced back to top the table on our own in midweek against Peterhead with a fine performance as we caught up on the rest of the table on matchday 29 for ourselves and Peterhead. Last Six League1: W D D W D W The first W was our BBC Alba game at Broadwood beating Accies (0-1). The next League game was a tough 1-1 draw with Stenny when we had Ben Brannan sent off with 20m left. (On the Tuesday after we beat Ayr Utd 1-2 to progress into the KDM Trophy Final). A disappointing no scoring draw at Kelty followed where we struggled to create enough clear chances and allowed the pack to close in again before a 3-1 home win over Montrose. With Stenny drawing and Alloa losing in midweek, we had a smidgeon of breathing space going into the home game against Cove but that was taken away by a goalkeeper. Balint Demus headed in an equaliser because we failed to put the game to bed when on top. A common theme throughout the season and one which Stenhousemuir took full advantage of by snatching a last minute winner. We bounced back in midweek with a good 3-1 home win over Peterhead with as bizarre an 'offside' goal as you will see gifting the Head their consolation. Zimba x2 & Alonge were our scorers in that one, three going on six. Liam Sole has missed the last couple of games apparently injured since coming on as a 73rd minute substitute against Montrose, however, he has since been handed an immediate two match ban. The punishment was meted out by the SFA after a notice of complaint about a head butt on Jamie Hislop near the end of the KDM Trophy semi-final. He will be suspended for the next two League1 games but ironically will be allowed to play in the KDM final against Raith Rovers should he be fit. Ross Millen was an unused sub last time out v Peterhead having missed a few games recently. Scott Kellacher playing the olde "we have a few carrying knocks" smokescreen. Alloa were on a great run until they came unstuck at Balmoor and were pumped 3-1 by Peterhead. It got worse at the weekend in the late TV game where Montrose ran out winners in a nine goal thriller. However their good run prior to that never went unnoticed with Manager Andy Graham picking up the SPFL League1 Manager of the Month Award for February. Last Six League1: W W W W L L This run started with four wins on the trot stating away to QotS (1-2). Next up was 3-0 at home v Accies then another away win over East Fife 2-0 with the last win being 2-1 at home over Kelty Hearts. The curse of the MotM kicked in with a 3-1 reverse at Peterhead in a midweek encounter before the 5-4 loss at Montrose. But for a couple of late goals it was a thrashing although Callum Burnside can be pleased with his contribution of a hat-trick. He also notched a brace against Kelty and singles v East Fife and Accies. Luke Donnelly was also amongst the goals during the last six fixtures scoring three times. Alloa have one of the better squads in League1 with a good mixture of experience and younger heads with no shortage of quality. Before the season started they were one of the tips to take the title and they will still believe they are capable of reaching the summit with seven games remaining. Certainly a play-off place will be a minimum target. 2. Won't matter it " wasn't his turn to play next couple of games"
  3. At Dingwall today, for first 1/2 hour county we’re best I have seen this season. Front foot, having a real go at Dunfermline, could have been 3-4 up instead of 2. The pars fans were giving Lennon a roasting. They then Scored against the run of play from a wickedly deflected free kick. That spooked county and they sat on their 2-1 lead and 2nd half it was all pars. Lucky to get the 2-2 draw. I don’t fancy us in the play offs. Stop faffing around with team selection. Points more important than equalling out game time. Why drop alonge today. His height is important in our box defending free kicks and CORNERS, and is a threat in opposition box, plus he is scoring goals recently. I Don’t get it.
  4. This team really do yer nut in!!
  5. It’s not today’s game that’s kept it tight at the top: 2 home wins and 2 away draws with Alloa is what we could realistically expect (maybe better than we could expect) given how we’ve struggled against them in recent seasons. Drawing twice with Cove and twice with Kelty, along with only getting one point out of nine so far against Stenny is where we’ve let ourselves down. But we remain top and it is in our own hands. Our next two league games, home to Queens and away to Stenny are now massive in terms of our season. Promotion was the target, but we don’t want to have to try to achieve that through the play offs.
  6. Sorry to say this but this is on the manager for his constant changing of the team. Sure Zimba getting sent off didn't help, this has been coming as he is a bit volatile volatile at times. Hopefully Kellagher has learnt a lesson but I I wouldn't bet on it
  7. I do hope we win today but, as others have said, this constant chopping and changing is baffling. If we lose, this has to be squarely on the manager and not for the first time. Kellagher surely has to realise that his job us on the line if we don't win promotion.
  8. That dogged and damn Stenny, what is it they have that we don’t??? bc

  11. Too many draws. With this squad we should be winning games.
  12. Thank goodness Kellacher reads my posts. MUCH better second half, and even after the stupid red we looked the more dangerous side. Happy in the end to take a point but serious questions for the manager about the way we started.
  13. We have been poor, need to change things at HT because we just don’t look like scoring.
  14. Aye, it's a bit concerning to still be chopping and changing at this stage of the season. The 11 that started v Peterhead were good value for their starting slots. Unless a couple are carrying a wee knock or two. If I was Alonge and Bavidge I might be a bit miffed to be on the bench. Unless the artificial pitch is a factor today?
  15. Puzzled, again by the changes... Sincerely hope the result bears out the thinking behind them.
  16. We try to keep our stats up to date as much as the outdated system on CTO will allow us. The main man for inputting the stats at the moment is IBM who beavers away behind the front line and is also responsible for the PotY polls. Cheers Iain 👏 We managed to get them up to date during covid and even found Billy Mckay's missing goal in time for him to hit the ton. Took a bit of finding but it was down to an input error when we/I only credited him with one goal in a premier league game when he scored twice many moons ago. Think it was against Killie in 2012.
  17. Stenhousemuir can now be top of the league before we meet on the 11th now, as we will have a game in hand. Could be a psychological advantage for them.
  18. You almost have to put money on Stenny at present. They really are playing well and getting sound results. We have a tough game next Friday against QOS whilst they will almost certainly turn East Fife over the next day. Then we have the Cup match giving Stenny the chance to go top before welcoming us for one of a number of crunch games (for us at least) as we struggle on.
  19. Is that an auto three game suspension....
