  1. IHE, Sneckboy - come on now. You should know better. It's simply not tennis.
  2. When he's finished his chips.
  3. From what I seen of him last night he is better than Gauld! (it was only 45 minutes I know but still...)
  4. I really do think that ICT and John Hughes do have the potential to be a perfect match for each other. The way the club and fans think and Hughes honesty and philosophy - it's all potentially there. I'm not saying I think this will happen tho. And I'm not happy with our league results of late as are the majority of fans. However it's too early to be calling for a replacement to be found. Anyone who thinks getting rid now would be a good thing should maybe take a wee lie down. Perhaps pour a large brandy or have a wee rummage with themselves and see if they feel a bit better after.
  5. Obviously a first ever cup final followed by a midweek game down at Motherwell is a totally unfair comparison, but I wonder if the respective ICT turn-outs have seen the biggest percentage disparity in consecutive crowds, anywhere, ever?! 7,800 fans, followed three-days-later by 53. That's around a 99.3% drop! Not to worry, the 0.7% of us that were there made the most of it and still had time for a beer or two!
  6. James Vincent had a very poor game last night IMO. And Richie had one of the poorest games I've seen him have (going by the usual high standard). I really do think there are a few players who would benefit from a short break. This is the time to use the full squad. And well. How Hughes uses the squad with the current fixture pile up will say a lot about his management ability to me.
  7. A lot of players are tired at the moment I think. Hughes has to use the full squad better. We tried the 4-4-2 to help Billy up front, opposition are now wise to the tactics and know how to nullify the threat. We need to try something else as the 4-2-3-1 with Billy is no longer working and we seen how the 4-4-2 worked out for us. I feel the key lies in bringing Nick Ross back in (and possibly also giving Ryan Christie a lot more game time). Whatever it is I just hope Hughes and Latapy sort it out sooner rather than later.
  8. Our 4-2-3-1 system is not working as while Billy is doing a great job holding the ball up, the opposition is wise to this tactic and mark Billy out of the game and also stop others getting forward well. This is why Hughes tried the 4-4-2, to help Billy up front. He said so himself. I'm not so sure that he picked the correct games to do this in however. This tactic did not work so he's gone back to 4-2-3-1. This still hasn't sorted out lack of goal threat though. I like the fact Hughes is trying to remedy this situation. My main concern is he is not using the full squad well enough IMO. Some players looked tired last night at m'well and players like Nick Ross and Ryan Christie should be given a chance during this busy time. Should he be sacked now. No. Not now.
  9. He was excellent in the second half last night. I feel that a few of our regular starters need a rest, I see no reason why Ryan cannot get a lot more game time with our current fixture pile up. BTW - same with Nick Ross too IMO.
  10. Are you saying Mahonio is Willie Miller?
  11. Seems they've now listed it as an asset!
  12. The directors are arguing over who's going to get the 30 pence return on that bottle apparently.
  13. Dougal manages to turn another thread around to the merger! That's some talent. KingBeastie
  14. Stolen skis no doubt?!
  15. They all get 10 for that one. Apart from Doran who gets 11.
  16. I really don't find the top that offensive. That's worrying me!
  17. I think it's Foran that we miss more than any other individual player. And the recent run of better from has a lot to do with him being back. When he's not been playing we struggle, this has been the case for a while now. Either way we have probably the strongest squad we have ever had at the moment.
  18. Yeah, not doubting that for a minute. It was more the contrast to the previous regime that I was meaning rather than singling out Yogi.
  19. Scotland's original home kit was pink and yellow/orange stripes. I think it's related to someone called Lord Rosebury or similar. That new away kit is a nod to that aspect of our heritage. It's still feckin boggin mind!
  20. Really RIG? I'd never have guessed, it's just as well you start nearly every post you make these days by reminding us of that first. Thanks, we'll bear that in mind.
  21. Since Yogi's taken over I have been really impressed by his use of substitutions. Both the players he switches and any formational or shape changes this implements but also the timing of his subs has been really good. That 3-4 aberdeen game was when I think I first noticed the way he'd try and alter things with subs. I don't want this thread to be yet another Yogi bashing thread for his detractors but compared to the previous manager this is one area I feel he is much better in. Last night he puts on Watkins, within less than 2 minutes he's scored our third. Also putting on Nick Ross surely kept us in the semi final and thus got us to the final (or helped at least). Anyone agree/disagree?
  22. I'm a big supporter of the national team and hate all these gripes from fans of whatever club complaining that their player has not been selected. But in this case I really do think Graeme really does deserve a cap. Certainly ahead of the young chap at Dundee United. On a similar note, what is it with united, why is there always one of their players in the squad when there are normally much better and more valid options elsewhere, whether within Scotland or not. I blame Levein for that as well. Assh01e! Glad he never got the managers job here!
