  1. Short answer- I don't know. Maybe ask CB or DJS or somebody else. Slightly longer answer- maybe just as happens today. Change strips are often chosen on a whim. Maybe some members of the committee liked it.
  2. Paul Lambert?
  3. Rangers don't do paranoia though. OK they do arrogance, triumphalism etc instead, but they seem to leave the paranoia to the other lot
  4. What was that other game where the jeggies were beating Elgin at ht 1-0? After a bit some guys came back from the Corrie asking the score and it was 6-1 to Elgin by this time
  5. Yeah but you know how it is- he forwards it to 6 mates, one of them forwards it to 6 mates and Dallas is still on it.
  6. I wonder if people are aware that it was Dougie McDonald who sent off Juanjo in 2004 (albeit because of the 4th official)? And which particular ginger ned was the beneficiary of the decision? Especially as his team went on to gain 3 points even though ICT gave them a decent game with 10 men for over an hour? And which ginger ned was later challenging ICT fans to 'come ahead' after the game when he went to board the team bus? And which ginger ned escaped punishment even though Juanjo's card was rescinded?
  7. Caley Stan on Traynor!
  8. What MrCaleyjag said. I received the same email at home but decided not to send it on. If I had forwarded it at work, then even in my fairly responsible job (teacher) it would have been a reprimand AFAIK, not a sacking offence. Dallas has no previous history (apart from awarding the odd pen against Celtic FC, which some people appear to think is a capital offence) so a grovelling public apology would have done. Maybe he was offered that but wouldn't take it. Also, for some reason, any church sanctimoniously demanding that other organisations sack their officials rather gives me the boak.
  9. All I remember is, he was part of a famous half back line the tims used to brag about back in the 80s: Paul McStay, Willie McStay, Greig must stay.
  10. Oh there's mileage in this rite enaff You fancy being Winston?
  11. I'm sure Johndo will be flattered to think that he was young enough to be a casual Anyway the 1991 lot were HSE were they not?
  12. Aye sure Johndo, I'll field any mails I get. I doubt you'll get much response though. Shame it wasn't at BB, as most of them will never set foot in the TCS. The only one I'm in touch with is the Fortrose man (Bluesbrother on here, PRS on P&B) and I can't see him travelling up for it from Edinburgh.
  13. Never realised that Russeldinho made 6 appearances for them on loan. I can think of one or two on this board who wish he had stayed there
  14. A lot of ifs in there. With Rooney dithering over a contract there's a fair chance somebody will make an offer during the window. Hayes has attracted a fair bit of interest too. And the squad is pretty tight before the winter starts to take its toll. However what the other teams don't have at the moment is the ICT spirit.
  15. Early records were vague but I think it was shown in recent times that Caley had actually won 18 league titles. Interesting that one or two ECFC fans are wittering on about how they might have the majority of the support. Maybe they're using the Ross County accountancy model, except that they're including bollocks and nipples as well as eyes.
  16. You don't seriously expect me to remember that. While everybody else is on about it: my wee team is Whitehill Welfare. I don't have a fave English team. Well, maybe Fleetwood Town. I've dabbled over the years in FC Luzern, CD Tenerife, Barca, En Avant Guingamp, Caen, Carloway FC, basically all holiday romances  I did watch Falkirk for a year or two round about merger time, when Jefferies was boss. If Squirrel was here he'd say I was a Hibby, but that's bollocks. They were pretty reliable for a good European night in the 70s though, whereas the Jambos never got into Europe much.
  17. Yeah and they also have their '3rd in div 2' flag up from the time before
  18. Me too. The secret was to get plenty antifreeze inside you at Bonnar's Bar. I think there were a couple of Morton fans in with us, cos their game was off. They gave the Midden dog's abuse for the whole 90.
  19. 8/10. Oh well, I'm too old to take up reffing anyway. Apparently shinguards are compulsory?
  20. Is that the bar we were in before the shoes off game? God I was ill that day. Bring it on.
  21. Yes, you've certainly convinced me! Have a dot. I'll let you guess which colour it is
  22. Are they really willing to do this at a local level? I had some dealings with Tesco many moons ago. My experience was, they screw you down to the last penny (usually by a national agreement, i.e. Tesco's head office agreed the prices with our head office, so Tesco were getting the goods much cheaper than anybody else) so as somebody above mentioned, you make next to no profit on the goods, you just get volume. This is OK normally, but we would hardly want to get into their branches nationwide. How many more tops would we sell in the Inverness branches of Tesco?
  23. Yes, copies of 'Caley all the Way' turn up in second hand shops. There was one on eBay the other week. I got mine in Edinburgh but they're not daft- it was still ?15 for a hardback.
  24. OK I'll start. Mr B's book is actually excellent and you could ask the mearlach in Church St (aka Leakey's Bookshop) to look for a copy second hand. Sure he's an odd fellow but he's not trying to get rich, he's actually trying to educate you. That's what he does. Ian Broadfoot wrote 'Going Ballistic' to celebrate our first 10 years and promotion to the SPL in 2004. Probably sold out but maybe somebody at the club could help you out. Recent DVD called "A night to remember' shouldn't be too hard to find. Think there were 500 made (CaleyD will tell you). Caledonian FC fanzine as mentioned on these boards a couple of weeks ago. See my homepage. Thistle fanzine, probably quite hard to find and only ran to about 4 issues IIRC. Excellent though.
  25. Delighted at the progress made by players such as Ross and Shinnie who have been chucked in at the deep end. Nervous about what will happen to our small squad during the winter when injuries and suspensions kick in. ICT traditionally have a poor start and get better. This time we've started like other promoted teams. Once every manager has played us once they'll be working out how to stop us next time. Great team spirit though, carried on from last year.
