  1. Can we find a negative word to replace "unionist' then? I mean it's only fair. Obviously some people would say 'feartie' but I genuinely believe that to be unfair. Something along the lines of 'better the devil you knowist'. CB, obviously we've crossed swords in the past and I respect most of the points you (rather aggessively) make whenever this issue is raised. However I don't see where you get 'declining minority' from. Minority yes, and even over certain time scales you can show that support for INDEPENDENCE has fluctuated, but the fact that the Nats have now shown themselves capable of being trusted with government is, at the very least, consolidation. There's no sign yet of them losing the next one either. Even without Salmond they would have a stronger team than Lamont & co.
  2. Good work Davie. Absolutely.
  3. 2 games. Heard someone say that on saturday Don't know if this is common knowledge but you can get all that info on the SFA website including non-League football.
  4. Me gustaría hacer el amor con su madre
  5. There's this guy Helmut Schoen, older posters might have heard of him..... You getting a free pass tomorrow Yngwie?
  6. ..... and if they don't sign him, maybe they can go a whole season without scoring. Win, win situation
  7. Jeez, was that really 10 years ago? That's the trouble with segregation. They stand and sing about sheep sh*gg*ng b*st*rds and then we score so the only recourse you have is to run up to the fence and bleat at them.
  8. You forgot Imrie getting booked for making an erse of himself at the penalty shoot out.
  9. Aye they used to boo the ICT no 2 for a couple of years till they got used to what big Rossco looked like
  10. You stirring barsteward. Just for the record I refused to squeak despite johndo offering to keep me in malt whisky for the rest of my active life, and horlicks thereafter, in exchange for the name of the squirrel. You need only look as far as a couple of female members of the site for your culprits (smileys here) . Heaven knows what johndo promised them..... I'm sure the feckin rodent is reading this and if he had not appeared to be masquerading as a middle aged man when in fact he was about 23, then his posts would have felt more natural to read. There was always something bizarre about him for this reason- one minute he was sounding off about 70s football, the next he was bragging about how many alcopops he could neck at a sitting. Apart from anybody peeing in the Heathie, I suppose young lassies being groomed online get the same creepy sense of discomfort as I did (more smileys).
  11. You had a fair reputation for mischief back in the good old pre-Brewster days.......
  12. I thought you were joking but it appears to be true (although his name is actually Phillipa York rather than Hill, my sources tell me). Yeah you'll be right, the old Mantis memory is not what it was. Dunno where I got Hill from. P.S. The book is actually 'In Search of Robert Millar'
  13. Millar was a legend and charismatic-I met him once. There is a documentary about him which is on DVD "The High Life". Sadly he disappeared from the face of the Earth for a while but apparently resurfaced in Dorset living as a woman, Philippa Hill. There's a book about this called "Looking For Robert Millar".
  14. I'm sending a load of stuff to CaleyD tomorrow, spent ages filling up DVDs.
  15. I once read there was a longstanding thing between Novo and them. Something to do with Spanish = Catholic = Celtic minded   But he decided to sign for the other lot and they took it baaaad. Maybe he indulged in a bit of badge-kissing or something.
  16. Right lad, stand up now for the press. Oh, you are standing up!
  17. My experience as well. Spat at (unprovoked, unless wearing an ICT scarf is deemed provocative) after both cup wins against TGFITW. They're happy to invite you to their supporters club pre-match, but you're expected to then do the decent thing and lose the match
  18. Aw no, you promised.......
  19. Aka Taylor & Clough
  20. I've seen the hardback costing £15-20 even in Edinburgh never mind the mearlach in Church St. Paperback version maybe £8-10
  21. I always wondered what happened to you Alex
  22. IHE I got that game on DVD a couple of years back and watched it through. I agree with most of it- it was a right open game with good quick passing (considering it was the world champs you would expect that) and probably wide open till Scotland went 2 up. Is that all Gemmell's words or is the first bit by you or somebody else? My uncle was pally with Gemmell and they went on holiday together.
  23. Is the Quine even aulder than she lets on? Even around 1969 I can remember Celtic's 4-2-4 lining up against rangers 4-3-3. and that made rangers a defensive team. Nowadays even one striker is sometimes considered a luxury...... If you watch an old game from the 50s two things strike you: The keepers were terrible and the pace was really slow. Teams didn't appear too bothered if they lost the ball, whereas nowadays it's a massive sin. Nowadays players have to be athletes which means carrying out the same skills twice as quickly. So full backs have to be wing backs which means a 5-4-1 can quickly become a 3-4-3 etc. Teams are far better organised so it's relatively easy for a mediocre team to keep a clean sheet against a good side - the onus is on the better side to break them down. Inevitably football evolves to become more defensive - I wonder if this is the case in all similar sports and I suspect it is. Private Fraser was right.
  24. Yes. The stewards at TCS don't give a toss where you sit.
  25. Well I hope you jolly well protested my friend
