I agree that Dennis does not get enough goals in the SPL. But Dennis' purple patch was not 'the other year', but was only last winter. Just as ICT were looking like a well-oiled machine and cert for top six, Denzil did his shoulder in the first minute against Celtic (Rory's only ever good game remember) and Dargo did his shortly afterwards. Instead of looking at how many goals Wyness scored, look at his value as a link man. As I remember it, CC wasn't picking Wyness towards the end of 2006. Then we had an appalling 3-1 defeat away at Tannadice. Next week Dennis was back and we lost 3-4 at home to Killie with everybody saying how well we played. Well mine arrived today and even Mrs Mantis likes it (including names). Mind you, don't know about anybody else, but I nearly ripped mine getting it over my head when I took it off. That's XL.

Remember Broonie was a very experienced keeper at Rangers and Well before he came to us. I've no doubt Mikey will be a top-class keeper but when Broonie left I said that CC was making a mistake in picking him every week at that age (mind you we were probably screwed by the transfer window). One advantage with young players like Mikey is they're not yet old enough to realise what pressure is...

I actually agree so no burning from me anyway. The only bit I disagree with (and Chris too) is that I don't find it amusing when people who are paid high salaries are totally ignorant of the existence of any culture outside the SE of England. In particular I mean the good old BBC whether it's news, weather, sport quiz shows or whatever. We may only have 1/10 of the population but we have 1/3 of the whole UK land mass and pay the same licence fee. So we're entitled to (gently) point it out when they get it wrong.

I read somewhere that the France v Argentina game had no build-up. Instead they talked at length about the upcoming England-USA game and then 'Oh sorry, we interrupt this to bring you France against some other country'. Sorry to return to an old theme, but the basic problem is, we are forced to listen to a London-based media who are enthusiastic about another nation. English viewers are NEVER forced to listen to us. Scottish commentators never broadcast to the whole UK, so arrogance, bias etc of Scottish pundits is irrelevant.

I don't see anybody claiming we'll beat France apart from a couple of the younger posters on here. The general mood amongst our media is that we can scrape a draw (personally I think it'll be about 3-0). The fact is we punch above our weight in the rankings for a nation of 5 million, apart from when Berti was in charge and we managed to punch below our weight.. England consistently fail when measured against nations of similar size, e.g. Germany, Italy, and even much smaller nations such as Portugal and Netherlands.
