Mind you I was at a game in Luzern a few years ago and every time something happened on the pitch you got drenched in lager (from plastic tumblers)- just like the Barrowlands it was. In Scotland people just drank from cans so you never got beer over you, but then they pished in the empty can and either rolled it down the terracing (if you were lucky) or flung it over your head on to the pitch if there was a flare up. At Kingsmills I think it was babycham they chucked.

I believe Charles Bannerman sclimmed over the wall at this game and collected a few empty bottles. I wasn't born at the time, but my Caley book says it was October 1954, a Monday holiday. Caley's stand burned down along with a lot of the club's history in 1950. Crowd was about 5000, score was 2-2 with a typical Caley fighting performance, coming back from 2 down.
