  1. If they don't make it at Carlisle they're hardly going to make it in the SPL though?
  2. Some well kent faces in there- including my own :001:
  3. Yes indeedy, same again. More like a pre season friendly than end of season. Only singing was a short flurry of 'can you hear the Caley sing' from a dozen or so Bairns fans after they scored, otherwise the game was played in total silence, apart from a muppet behind us (not the usual one) who moaned all day and gave Mikey stick for the goal, then took the hump when Naelifts told him to support his team next time :clapping03:. The game was petering out to 0-0 before a defensive howler gave Finnegan the winner. The pies were good though. And I got to play with my new camera.
  4. Never mind Culloden- I'm off to the Battle of Falkirk :021:

Don't think Barry has the ability to play much higher than he is- maybe for a top 6 club but certainly not the EPL. He maybe has a great left foot but he never had any pace. Remember he was punted after 3 years at Rangers but we must take a bit of credit for his (relatively) increased maturity. When you look at the whole package, I think he still has to prove he's a bigger asset than Barry Wilson.
  6. Must admit I've had a hard time deciding what which way Brian Taylor swings (apart from being a supporter of the Arabs). He once stood amongst us at Somerset in the good old div 1 days, a sunny afternnon and a 3-3 draw. It's Time!
  7. Which leads to my most FAQ ever "What did Charlie say to Boner?":015: :015: :015: :015:

Professor here :001: The sooner the young chap gets to Dundee Uni and gets his oats the better. :023: As CaleyD says we'll miss Baz Wilson more than we ever missed Baz Robson.
  10. I heard that he whistled to one of his dogs to come off and it took off its collar and threw it at him.
  11. another belter Tony this time
  12. Nearly as bad as the old one about Tony Blackburn being towed down the M1 by the Balls :023:
  13. Powering in a header for 3 points and 80 grand will soon clear that question up :015: :015:
  14. Surely he'd get a game in the Championship if they went down though?
  15. Ha ha quality :015: :015: :015: Next time I make a shite post I'll remember that excuse :021:
  16. cheat cheat cheat cheat cheat :015: :015: :015: :015:
  17. Partly that, plus it's hellish getting across Glasgow if Rangers are playing. And the supporters buses get stuck at Cumbernauld with roadworks.
  18. Feck me, last week it was equations, this week it's grammar. Don't know how you can stay away from this forum birdog :015: :015: :015:
  19. ICT curse strikes again- Charlie takes over as king of the squeakies
  20. Charles, I would never have divined from your posts that you harboured any distrust of things south of the Highland Line :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: To be fair, the clubs voting against Highland clubs in the past, in the days of one member, one vote, were doing so for purely selfish, business reasons- minnows like Berwick and Stranraer who would struggle to get the cost of a coach to Inverness when they could play Ferranti instead (and probably win too, thus avoiding a bottom place finish a la Shire). But it would be stretching it to call that a conspiracy, any more than keeping Cove or Wick out of the HL could be. By 1994 the voting system had changed. The Premier division got 4 votes, Div 1 got 2 and div 2 got only 1 vote. So the big clubs could look at it objectively rather than in self-defence. And so we got 68 :021:
  21. OK, I'll bite. (BTW you've just admitted that you CAN'T argue that Utd have more potential so that was very sporting of you :015:) Anyway: DUFC have a bigger PAST. They've won a league championship and a couple of cups and had some European success. This is not potential. This is HISTORY. They haven't won a thing since ICT was formed. Even while progressing up the lower leagues, ICT has done better than DUFC in the Scottish Cup. Both clubs are equal at PRESENT. Despite a chairman who throws money at everything (and has few friends AFAIK), and a bedrock support which is, say, 20% bigger than ICT's, DUFC are ONE point ahead of ICT in the league (which may well change this weekend). Like it or not, the long term picture is of support draining away from the smaller clubs to the large clubs (Man U, Celtic, Barca). It was happening while I was your age but be assured it's a lot worse now. I work beside people who are happy to travel to England to use a season ticket for the Premiership. So arguing about ICT and DUFC as large clubs is like two bald men fighting over a comb. However, if there is one area of the UK where this trend just might be slowed or reversed, it is Inverness, which is a **** of a long way from anywhere else. ICT is still in its first generation of supporters and in such a fast growing city there is a fair chance that these young fans will become parents and bring along their offspring, while a proportion of the incomers will also bring their families out of curiosity. The crowds may eventually reach a critical mass where a bit of atmosphere is generated- at present too many people are bashful about the idea that their local club (which played in the Highland League till recently) is actually as good as any which comes up to visit. Ten years ago this week ICT were on the way to their div 3 title and even then many people could not believe it. I said before that I have seen better players in a United shirt than you will ever see in the future. The reverse is true at ICT. ICT wages have gradually improved as the club has been sensibly run and we are no longer the worst payers in the SPL. Bigger names than Dargo, Brewster etc are still to arrive. Therefore: ICT has the bigger Potential, ie FUTURE.
  22. Excellent gig mannie BTW :022: 3 hours exactly including 25 mins break. Can't remember whether young Mr Malmsteen & I decided if it was better than watching ICT :015:
