  1. Can't agree with this at all. I think you'd look long and hard to find anybody with any such delusions amongst the fanbase, while Jim Farry, Ernie Walker etc are pushing up daisies. As for Off The Ball, it's parochial - ehh, that's kind of the point? A self-deprecating programme broadcast in Scotland, for Scottish fans, which avoids pandering to the ugly sisters. Stuart Cosgrove is a vastly experienced non-parochial media figure and Tam his wee muppet. I wonder how you would improve it?
  2. You agree with Charles, Sneckboy agrees with me and Charles agrees with himself
  3. Pascal's Triangle would take you hours Working it out by Binomial Distribution gives you a probability (for 18 away games out of 20) of 0.000181 to 3 sig figs, or 0.02%. Putting it another way, you would expect this to happen 2 times out of 10000.
  4. I don't like them either, but anybody who gets around the various grades of football, visits community clubs etc can see how that 28% will soon be over 50%. As a Northern nation our weather has more in common with Iceland and Norway and the Faroes where these things are ten a penny. Whitehill Welfare have played ONE game since October 24th while other teams like Spartans get their fixture played then let another club use their pitch afterwards, and charge them for the privilege.
  5. I know I've said this before but the first time I went over the pond in 1998 I went to a couple of baseball games and got interested. I discovered that you have these elite teams in the top level (majors) where players earn umpteen million dollars, the place is awash with sponsorship, etc etc, then below that, the minors, where it's virtually just park leagues. Nothing in between. Everybody knows what happens there comes here 10 years later and so it's come to pass. Champions' League and EPL on TV have bred a generation of people who can tell you all about the best players/teams in the world but they've never experienced the real thing. I watch 3 or 4 PremierLeague games a season and at ticket prices often over £50 the VFM is poor, although the highlights on MOTD always make it look good. Anyway, off to pay my £5 to see Bonnyrigg Rose v Pollok in the last 16 of the Junior Cup, that's if they get the snow cleared.
  6. I think that all the time, not just sometimes.

I thought he was a pal of yours?

What's all this got to do with the Chinese New Year btw?
  9. Hearts today, 1300 hrs at Riccarton. Would have gone along, fixture was down for Tuesday.
  10. Apart from their manager I can only think of Pearson, who broke Warren's leg and nearly crocked Danny Williams yesterday. He is the stereotype of a mouth-breather. Just watch him and see.
  11. I've done a blog piece about Fir Park which has a fair bit of ICT interest HERE.
  12. Looks clipped to me but When I touch the screen on the iPad the video appears .
  13. Tbf it wasn't just the youngsters
  14. You really need a 'south stand cam' to get the best of it
  15. Scenes at full time. The guys who have been punting Roberts for poty were right, he's a legend already. A lot of the time we looked a decent side today. Usual faults though, trying to score the perfect goal, about 30 passes then give possession away. Also guilty of punting it up to Storey who won his fair share against Steven McManus but was eventually subbed, he must have been knackered. I thought his touch was pretty poor today though. Pearson almost inflicted another casualty on us today when he halved Danny Williams, somebody should throw a net over him. Between Storey and Williams we could have had another 3 before Motherwell equalised and it looked like petering out to a replay. Cue master tactician Yogi introducing super sub Roberts for Mutombo. Draper, Tansey, excellent in midfield but feel Vigurs is still a bit of a luxury. Mutombo put in a decent shift and gave us a bit of width on the right although not much width as in true yogi style he kept cutting in. Back 4 all solid, Tremarco and Devine had no 'gulp' moments. Liam Hughes got a few minutes so never really got a chance to show. If I were a Well fan I'd be wanting McGhee punted. They were very poor and even after they equalised, you'd normally expect a siege but they were absolutely hopeless. Wasn't looking forward to a replay though and what a strike. A tricky tie on paper but the holders are through to the last 8
  16. ICT and County 9th equal in the prem with 53, ahead of Killie on 50, Hamilton a rather pathetic 14...
  17. I had thought the same about the Ryan Williams signing.
  18. No, it's just a simple case of what's usually called 'projection'. You have a well-established hatred of Lowlanders so you assume everybody else has to hate somebody too.
  19. Parochial. Oh, the irony One or two people have mentioned that retirement has not done Charles any good. Maybe it's time for the winner of the Worst Poster Award to finally seek some badly-needed help. Living in the part of Scotland so despised by Mr Bannerman I would claim to be more in touch with what the place is like, and what people here think of the Highlands, than himself. Otherwise I would recommend seeking the opinion of such as Top Six, Alternative Maryhill, RedCard, ICTChris, ICTPaisley, KirkieRobRoy, Naelifts, Alex MacLeod etc, whose views would be more valid than those of a bitter, prejudiced wee mannie who uses juvenile phrases such as 'getting it right up the Central Belt' and who, on the evidence of his tedious, repetitive essays, never gets any further than Culbokie for his summer holidays.
  20. Celtic - the gift that just keeps on giving
  21. Nah, they'll use it for something. Cattle feed maybe.
  22. The Livi game was League Cup though. Remember it well, we were strong favourites and battered them first half only to lose an equaliser right on the whistle.
  23. Well done statmeister. We've reached the last eight 9 times in our short history, and obviously 3 of those led to a semi, one to a semi replay, and one to a final. I've still got two memories that really rankle even years later. In 2007 we lost 2-1 to Celtic after leading for most of the game right up to the 90th minute. We weren't even under pressure as you'd expect in a Celtic game. Sickener for everybody, a long trudge back to a very subdued Innes Bar that day. 2006, Liam Fox had a one-on-one to put us 3-1 up with only minutes to go against Partick. He missed, they went up the park and Paul Ritchie won a penalty which made it 2-2. Dominated possession in the replay but a bit like Stirling the other week, toothless. Lost out with some of the weakest penalties I've ever witnessed. Hearts beat Gretna in the final after Clyde had put Celtic out. The Cup was there for the taking.
  24. Said that many times. It would be better to have the option to do without USH and just accept a fine if the game's off.
