  1. not having a go but this bit puzzled me, so its a game played by past and present ICT players at ICT's ground in front of ICT supporters of which ICT season ticket holders had priority over ticket purchase. ICT are selling the tickets from their own 'shop' and marketing it on their own website yet despite all of this its not an ICT game? i think its this inconsistency and mis-communication that has led to the problems. anyway, i have my ticket and i'm sure most who want a ticket will have one or get one, eventually, so lets hope its a great day for Barry
  2. Barry is an impact player and still has what it takes to change a game from the bench. In my book that makes him a valuable asset and worthy of a new contract
  3. thats the one i was thinking off, cheers
  4. yeah thats what i thought. glad he is staying
  5. story here he certainly deserves a new contract :clapping03: 6 months though? :024:
  6. yup agree with that
  7. havent Aberdeen bought Kevin Macdonald as a direct replacement for nicholson? think they got Young as well who is a midfielder as well i would be pleased if he (Burton o'Brien) is a viable target
  8. i certainly hope that this is the case and we have learned lessons from the past Agreed. I was also a little puzzled by the recent announcements regarding our youngsters agreeing new contracts, I'm delighted that Brewster has given our promising youngsters a chance but on 1 year deals? lets say they have a fantastic 6 months then they could easily be approached by another club on a pre-contract. In this day and age where money is so vital to a club then we should be doing all we can to protect our assets. Why the club only ever seems to offer 1 or 2 year deals is beyond me.
  9. fantastic news. Congratulations Marius :clapping03:
  10. Only if the players are good enough. Some managers, like Fatty Calderwood, buy players for fun. I seem to recall in 5 odd seasons he had signed close to 60 players when he was Dunfermline manager and near 50 had been moved on. He signed 2 of the 3 Paatelinean (sp.) brothers at one point then punted them at the end of the season! We have players (potentially) leaving yes but we can't just buy any old mince to replace them e.g. Derek Young. Obviously we want to know who we were looking at but we have a good couple of months to get things tied up yet. thats goes without saying, i'm just a little worried by the fact that it seems we are doing little in chasing potential targets. Knowing our history with doing transfers in the press i would of thought that by now we would of heard more about potential transfer targets other than our single pursuit Barrowman. its worring that the club took so long to tie up key players on extended contracts and that the players were into the final 6 months of their contracts which is a dangerous time to start negotiating as pre-contracts can be agreed with other clubs. I sincerely hope that the same lackadaisical approach is not going to be adopted in the transfer market as this summer is going to be extremely important.

i heard sammy lee was getting that job? maybe i heard wrong though No that was a rumour going round as well, but apparantly Sammy wants to stay in management and is looking for a lower division club. He has said he is "tempted" by the offer though. Anyway, sorry mods, off-topic I know... cough cough, Sammy Lee to liverpool no thanks, not a big fan, his record at QOTS is played - 62, won - 18, drawn - 19, lost - 25. not good enough IMO
  12. Out of the names highlighted it is questionable if they can be classed as strengthening! point taken but surely buying players rather than selling them is seen as strengthening? I know we havent actually sold anyone yet but McCaffrey, Hart, Watt, Deano, Bayne, Wyness have either left or very close to it with no-one coming in.
  13. I certainly hope we have being making significant moves behind the scenes. Falkirk have announced another 2 signings today in the form of Neil McCann and Lee Bullen to add to Jackie Macnamara and possibly Mark Burchill. St Mirren have signed Tom Brighton and possibly Wyness. Killie have signed Alan Russell. Hamilton Accies have made a few signings. Hearts will no doubt add 20 or so Lithuaninans in the summer. Dundee United have supposedly got 3 un-named players on pre-contract. Aberdeen have Kevin Macdonald and the other Young brother signing. Looks like all the teams around us are strengthening. Hmmmmmm........ wheres ours?

not when the supplier is Errea !!! We will be lucky to have it for the first game of next season any word/info on who the new supplier could be?
  15. IIRC they made quite a bit of money by selling their ground to tescos. The whole deal in conjunction with the local council (who partly funded the community training facility) saw their debt wiped out and funding for a new community stadium with associated training facilities with some money left over.
  16. i'm sure he's aware of it, like i'm sure the previous chairmen were, easy to spot areas to improve, not always so easy to set them in motion
  17. agreed but it all comes down to economies of scale, we need to set our price according to what the market is willing to pay, i for one know a lot of people who will not go because of the cost of tickets, i'm sure this is the case with many more. pricing needs to be competitive but appealing.

i heard sammy lee was getting that job? maybe i heard wrong though
  19. I was watching the game in the Bobbin with my Hibees pal and we were talking about how he is forever linked to us and Aberdeen. A lot of it was idle paper talk but if ever there was a player I wished we could have signed out of the ones linked to us then it would have been Shields. Criminally under used by Collins who never knew where to play him, he seems to be getting a good run under Mixu. good for hibs, bad for us, if collins had stayed then he may well have left and i would have been delighted to see him come to ICT, lethal finisher with pace, exactly what we need. i would like us to sign a centre half (who or where from i have no idea), an attacking midfielder akin to Hart or Rankin, Juanjo, Barrowman, and Dobbie. Would have liked to see us look at Mensing, saw him play quite a bit at Clyde, good centre half and can play defensive midfield role well. Accies have him now though.
  20. Is it not time for a number of ICT fans to prove they are capable of suceeding at an SPL club? Several dont seem to be doing too well as far as I can see from some of the dross written on here. So SPL fans shouldnt voice their opinion or indeed question authority? :017: If we dont adequately replace the players that are leaving then we shall be relegated and that in my book points the finger at the manager and the board for either poor signings or a lack of backing from the board in the transfer market.
  21. very good point, it can be a frustrating and annoying time when players move on to pastures new, but surely the situation we find ourselves in (i.e. needing to rebuild our squad) provides us with a great opportunity to build for the future and take in players to help grow the club. its time for Brewster and the board to prove they are capable of suceeding at an SPL club
  22. Ha ha! Not at all. Like I say I had a message from a Saints fan this morning asking about Bayne and I wondered why he was asking, Then reading your post made more sense. Makes it better to have the Bayne and Wyness stuff in here though I'm in two minds as to whether I should include the Black/Hibs rumour as well... ha ha, maybe it should be retitled 'Who's next to leave?' eeek, hadnt heard the Black rumour, maybe i dont want to :007: interesting article on setanta from yesterday with an article entitled: "Brewster in no rush over Wyness" it goes on to say.... "Craig Brewster has insisted he will hold talks with striker Dennis Wyness next week..........................Despite being aware that Wyness could head for pastures new, Brewster is in no rush to enter into talks." i hope his laid back approach means he has adequate replacemtns lined up....
  23. i noticed the title of the thread change, didnt mean to hijack your thread RiG, sorry :-[ If the player is pretty keen to move then i cant see the board holding out for too much, money now rather than zilcho in 6 months
  24. It says in the article that Dunfermline are leading the chase for Bayne but the Saints have already expressed an interest. The article states that Baynes wife is from fife and theyre looking to move back. Wyness and Dargo combo for the buddies next season, hmmmmm hopefully this doesnt come back to haunt us. So if all these rumours come off who ar we left with? Wood and McAllister up front? any strikers reading this forum want a game? :023:
  25. your not wrong! report in the daily express today saying that Bayne is looking to move south for family reasons with Dunfermline being a possible suitor. Wyness (likely), Bayne (looking more likely) and possibly Niculae all away this summer, big rebuilding job on the cards, lets hope Brewster is up to the task
