  1. Well not in the strictest sense but more noise usually leads to a better atmosphere
  2. I personally dont see any need for a scoreboard, would much rather the funds ploughed into wages or buying players
  3. Really? He said last week he wasn't looking at him. Mayb'e he has changed his mind. Its just a small article, no link unfortunately, entitled 'Butchers hopeful of doing Duff Deal' The jist of the article is: Former Aberdeen and Dundee united utility man Stuart Duff could be handed an SPL lifeline by newly-promoted Inverness...........Butcher, who worked with Duff as a youngster at Tannadice, signed him on a short-term loan last season and is now hoping to take him to the Highlands on a permanent basis.
  4. I think they would probably generate some atmosphere but i see it as being a fad and would more than likely be forgotten about within weeks/months. However it raises health and safety issues, if your not allowed into certain stadia with plastic bottles, cans, flag poles etc surely a vuvuzela would be deemed dangerous by health and saftey officials?
  5. glad to hear that the stripes may be making a comeback
  6. I have noticed an article in the paper today about Dougie Imrie and it raises an interesting point about players that leave in the January transfer window. Should Imrie get a medal for making 16 appearances for us last season? Regardless of whether he gets one or not it is pleasing to see that he is glad to see us back in the SPL and that there is no animosity between the player and the club. I know that a lot of fans on here lost backing for him after his sending off in the challenge cup final however i always thought Imrie was a decent player to have in the squad. He always gave 110% for us and was an exciting player (although a little temperamental/erratic/frustrating at times) but his potential was evident and i think his performances for Hamilton in the latter part of last season where he won several MoMs and many plaudits backs this up. So should he get one or not? IMO yes, he played a substantial part of the season so deserves one
  7. Todays Daily Express has a story saying that Butcher is keen to take Stuart Duff back here on a permanent deal.
  8. I seem to remember reading an article somewhere that following hundreds of complaints at the start of the World Cup that the BBC/ITV did something to the in-stadium and pitch-side microphones where the noise of vuvuzela was toned down? The screech seems a lot less annoying now but i think its to do with technology rather than them being more bearable
  9. Heard he arrives at the club on the 15th July, dont have a name but he is a mate of Butchers? any speculation? Peter Shilton!? Chris Woods?
  10. sounds like a decent player
  11. absolutely
  12. I'd tend to agree with you there, there are 6 players there with at least 5 years SPL experience and others such as Golly, Foran and Rooney who have played in the SPL before. 9 players with SPL experience in itself is a good core of experience IMO While we could maybe do with another experienced player or two i agree that by the looks of the trialists and signings Butcher has made, it could well be upcoming, hungry youngsters that he may be looking to add
  13. 6 Foot 2 Forward
  14. The 'establishment' are to blame! :)
  15. Don't think he could be anymore transparant... fair play for keeping the fans in ze loop. I'm a bit worried that he isn't looking at anyone with a bit more experience to help out the first team but experience costs money and we don't seem to have that at the moment. From the sounds of it Heston Blumenthal will be able to cover all 4 positions upfront and at only 20 years of age he could be an absolute steal... or another Behrami but I am hopeful because he wears a head band :P :P :D From P&J article Also looks like weve had two bids for Tuffey knocked back in the last week so there might be some money there, ?5k or something :)
  16. Should we have a seperate thread for trialists? Anyway, bit of info about some the trialists, Andrew Milne is a Scottish defender with 2 U18 caps and whilst never playing for the first team at Leeds, played 14 times for Darlington in two loan spells. From the Newcastle United website:
  17. But not enough, it would appear! Interesting story all the same. Tuffey and Esson? We'd be guaranteed one very unhappy keeper. either not enough or what partick want is too much for what we deem a fair value. we all know how over-inflated tranfer fees can be. Maybe we have funds allocated for another position also. The mention of us paying fees is what intrigues me, i dont think there will be many teams in the SPL splashing out with transfer fees, i reckon most signings will be free transfers or nominal fees
  18. I originally thought about that as well, not sure if Johnson would be eligible for the U19s. I know some of the bigger SPL clubs have three first team keepers, maybe Butcher is thinking the same thing
  19. Just spotted this article on the Sky sports website; linky interesting. looks like there may be money to spend

  22. It seems Blumstein played two games for rangers when on trial and scored four from midfield. sounds like he could be a real find
