it would appear they have amended the article now, originally stated four figure sum and offered no breakdown.

Just read that we are to receive a FOUR figure sum for players involved in the Euros. anyone else suprised by how little this amount is compared to what we were led to believe we would be receiving at the time? story here

Ritchie Bryne
remember seeing him in a cup game against us when he was playing for Dunfermline, hooked at half time cause he was that bad IIRC. Only seen him a couple times but never been hugely impressed. Mind you we've seen what can happen when ex-Aberdeen players with something to prove come to the TCS. Just look at Duncan and Wyness!

POLL: Time to bin Brew?
Perhaps you fail to notice we have only gained 25 points from this year If the season ran from January to October, we'd be serious contenders for the drop. 2002/2003 - Motherwell finish bottom with 28 points 2003/2004 - Partick Thistle finish bottom with 26 points 2004/2005 - Dundee finish bottom with 33 points 2006/2007 - Dunfermline finish bottom with 32 points The simple fact is a season runs for 9 months. In 10 months we have amassed a whopping 25 points. How you can defend Brewster is astounding... I knew things werent good but that is amazing

Team fer Easter Road ?
----------------------------ESSON (GK)---------------------------- PROCTOR (RB)-------------------DUFF (CB)---------MUNRO (CB) -------------MCBAIN (LB) COWIE (RIGHT MIDFIELD)------BLACK (CM)------DUNCAN (CM)-----IMRIE (LEFT MIDFIELD) -----------------------------------ROONEY (STR)-------------BARROWMAN (STR)-------------- I think the someones been getting the tactics mixed up on the blackboard in the changing room therefore ive highlighted where our wide midfielders invariably play best!

Proctor
personally i was amazed to see proctor start and i dont think he can be held entirely responsible for his performance. to have been out for so long and be thrown in at the deep end like he was is a crazy thing to do especially with Duff putting in some impressive displays of late. he wasnt ready to to start and i dont think too many others on here would disagree, personally i think Brewster should have put his hands up and admitted his mistake there but not much chance of that.

POLL: Time to bin Brew?
dont think ive even seen such a level of lack of support for a manager of ICT. Its going to be interesting to see what the board do about the current situation. Personally i think its going to be one heck of a job getting us out of this position and i dont know whether Brew is the man, Interesting times lies ahead.....

can we survive this season
We can't keep going with the attitude of "We're due some luck", "We've always got the next game", "We didn't have the rub of the green", "We've some home games coming up", etc, etc, etc. It's this head in the sand attitude which is another of our problems. Look at the stats. We are in a bad way and something needs done. Quickly. One win papering over the cracks will probably do more long-term damage than good. I'll be at Easter Rd. on Saturday but I'm (very) sad to say I won't be disappointed if we lose - if more loses are what it takes for some action to happen then so be it. Sad days indeed. it pains me to say it but i agree

can we survive this season
i certainly cant see 4 or 5 signings coming in and by the sounds of press reports a few weeks ago it sounds like Brewsters priority was for an midfielder to replace Paatalinen. i think its been clear for a while that our squad requires strenghtening but Brewster has yet to address it, we have been crying out for a big strong centre half since Dods left but nothing has been done about it. Also we need an experienced forward to help Rooney and Barrowman acclimatise to the SPL, heres hopeing this issue is adressed somewhat sooner! if our leaky defence isnt fixed soon we could well be in trouble!

Ibrahim Atiku
how come Morton can arrange a closed door friendly and we cant? Especially with our reserve game being cancelled this week, a closed door friendly would give our reservs/U19s/fringe players a run out and would also allow our own coaching staff to assess him. Not rocket science!

Darren Fletcher
i didnt realise that 100 Scottish caps was seen as some seal of quality. Silly me! :018: Before making sarcastic replies SMEE please note: Knowhere on this thread will you find a comment or viewpoint of mine on the qualities, or otherwise, of Darren Fletcher. I read a few of the papers today and noted that all the pundits are saying that a certain Darren Fletcher is one of the best players ever to pull on a Scotland shirt and that he has the potential to beat Dalglish's record of 100 caps. I then read through this thread and am left wondering if there's two darren fletchers. Sir Alex, George Burley, football pundits across the country?? pah!! what do they know, Darren Fletcher is guff imagine someone like ronaldo keeping him out of the team, he must be useless then :thumb04:

January Transfer Window.
we already have 4 strikers at the club, Rooney, Barrowman, Wood and Mcallister, 5 if you include Imrie. agree with the centre half and either a defensive or attacking midfielder to add depth to the squad.

Reserves vs Hearts
our second team were 2 nil up after 10 minutes but lost 3-2, not sure of any other details though
-
Darren Fletcher
completely agree. he hasnt been up to his usual standards in his last couple of Scotland games but a highly influential player who i have no doubt will do us proud when he pulls on the captains armband.

i'd go with a combination of the latter two suggestions as been hugely contributing factors

Team For Hibs
agreed but if it is a choice between having Cowie in the centre and Wilson or Zander wide right or cowie on the right with Vigurs playing in the centre then i would certainly go with the latter. IMO Barry is best coming off the bench for the last 20 as an impact player and i'm yet to be convinced that Zander has what it takes to command a regular starting berth in right mid at the moment, given time i hope and believe Zander will come good, just not yet.
