  1. I think its very difficult to apportion blame to either the manager or the players without knowing the way the club/team operates. Often in football only one side of the story is released to the press and its very easy to incorrectly blame one party based on what the board/chairman/manager/press officer tells the press. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the manger to get results and football as we all know is a results driven business. However footballers nowadays often play only for the pay cheque or big contract rather than the club and this quite often leads to lack of commitment/passion/respect for the team. Football is becoming less of a team sport and more a means to make indivduals rich. Using the world cup as an example, from what we have seen in the media Capello has taken a lot of flak (and rightly so IMO) for some confusing team selections and formations however there has been a lot of rumours about infighting amongst players within the camp which would surely have had an effect on team spirit and moral. In this case it is almost impossible to apportion blame without knowing the full story.
  2. The Huntington lad looks like he has a decent pedigree. Ihere (sic) doesnt appear to have a great goal return with 282 Senior Club Appearances and 51 goals Couldnt find out much about the latter two players both of Fleetwood Town. Are these genuine targets or merely speculation seeing as we're playing both Stockport and Fleetwood in pre-season?
  3. Thats good enough for me Imagine the celtic game with them lot blowing their vuvuzelas and us singing Lady Ga Ga! :024:
  4. he would be my second favourite, he has a good squad there but despite a good start to his career, he seemed to struggle towards the end of the season, if he carries on the poor form then he may well be punted anyone reckon Neil Lennon with be up to the task?
  5. Fantastic! :moon2: personally i find them incredibly annoying and thats only from TV coverage that i've watched

  7. Blatantly half inched from P&B but who do posters think will be first for the chopping block this season. My money is on McGhee Edited for various spelling mistakes and submitting the poll half way through completion. Not having a good day
  8. absolutely, this summer has only been bearable thanks to the world cup, will be glad once pre-season starts again and we start building for the coming season
  9. Its been confirmed here that ICT plans to announce two new signings next week and hope to have several British and European trialists coming over next week for the start of pre-season training.
  10. Article on P&J website here
  11. Yeah, thats the one in the paper :)
  12. Hayes has 3 U21 Ireland caps and Rooney has 2 so they are both recognised already internationally. Whether they will progress to the full squad remains to be seen however they have youth and potential on their side. I agree with starchief, this season will show whether they are up to the task
  13. Back to the original topic, does anyone actually have anything concrete on who the two players coming in actually are?
  14. Been a mix up somewhere. St Mirren are in Norn Ireland on the 3rd playing Derry City in their pre season tour
  15. The press and journal also mentions that we are supposed to be playing real valladolid on the 3rd of August
  16. article here sounds like the search for new players is well underway
  17. There is a short article in todays courier about the sports bar, doesnt say much but ive picked out the main jist of it: should answer a few queries
  18. does it really matter who's idea it is? Surely the most important thing here is the tribute and not who gets the 'plaudits' for coming up with the idea
  19. 'Put-a-line-on' has been appointed new boss, i think he'll struggle with the financial problems they have Would love the buddies to go down purely to silence their rabble of arrogant, self-obsessed fans personally i would settle for beating them...got sick of there anti football rubbish last time and would love to ram a 7 nil thumping down there smug throats....looking forward to some top quality annoying of there team though :D Ahhhhhhhh!!! you've just reminded me how frustrated i used to get at the constant time wasting ploy they used to try! they used to unfuriate me to bits with their continual lack of sportsmanship. grrrrrrrr. lets get them beat!!

  22. i see what your saying, it appears he has left or been pushed from some clubs in somewhat acrimonius circumstances but he has done well at each of the clubs he has managed barring maybe Livi so i think he still has a future in club management
  23. Im still very suprised Robbo has been out of football management for so long, hope he gets a chance to get back into management soon
  24. Would love to finish above Hamilton this season but it wont be easy. In fact i'd love to see either Hamilton or St Mirren relegated but think it may be Killie's time for a dip in the first division
  25. All sounds very vague at the moment and seems like a lot of guesswork has been done on the limited information contained within the planning application. Hopefully the club release some more details soon
