  2. great that our youngsters are continuing to get international recognition well done lads, keep it up
  3. ...and after a wee look on Pie & Bovril, it seems the Dundee fans didn't rate his performance in the pre-season game he played in; saying he was rash in the tackle and had poor positional sense. He does have a nice video though: Gordon Gilbert EDIT: Even after just seeing his 'highlights', I think it is quite obvious that he is a 'clumsy' footballer... perhaps similar to LDZ? Sounds like you could be right about the LDZ comparison, this sound familiar to anyone: Quote from the Kaizer Chiefs website, here

  5. I think that due to the fact we had such a good season last year, we retained our best players, have taken in some new quality players and managed to knock a few goals in against Highland League opposition may have given us a bit too much confidence however i think saturdays defeat is exactly what we needed to keep our feet on the ground. Butcher will have drummed into the players about complacency and maintaining concentration and i think it was a valuable lesson for the team, hopefully it will serve as a reminder to us that we are not invincible and still need to work hard to win games.

  7. update on trialists from the P&J article here Slightly dissappointed if it is true that we are not going to offer Mckay-Steven a deal as i think he could be a useful player to have in the squad, cant see the harm in offering him a 6 month deal to see how he gets on, wouldnt have thought his wage demands would have been too high considering he is without a club

  13. beat me to it, just saw the cancellation news here
  14. Reduce the prices by 10/15% and have the cheapest gate price in the SPL. Family club. Value for the average family, all that jazz. I mean 29 bucks for the main stand for Celtic. I agree that pricing needs to be looked at, ?24 for a junior ticket in the main stand against Celtic, thats way too much if you ask me. I would say i'm more optimistic rather than confident just now about our chances this season, once we sign a left back and maybe another midfielder then i reckon i would be reasonably confident that we could get a placing of around 7-11th
  15. To be fair i dont remember seeing any other club launch new kit yet. I know Hearts won't be available till 12th Aug. I didnt acutally mean launched as in for sale. When i said launch i meant preview or show what the strips will look like, at the very least i know the old firm, hearts, hibs, dundee united have all unveiled what their new strips will look like via a strip 'launch', it always seems that we are very late in doing the same
  16. i would say im suprised about how late the strip release is but i'm not. Its seems part and parcel of using our current suplier that we are one of the last teams in the league to release our strips. Can only hope in the future that this is either rectified or we find a supplier that can deliver in good time
  17. Great post Harry, completely agree
  18. hook, line and sinker.....
  19. But do you honestly think 20,000 folk would make their way to Inverness for either of those bands? And pay ?60-?100+ per ticket? Performers with that kind of pulling-power are few and far between... muse probably would

  22. Im a little suprised about the negativity about our latest signing and how we are going to suffer from a lack of pace. i agree the core of our defence is not the fastest however they are experienced professionals who have come up against many pacey player before and will play against many pacy players in the future. There are many ways to combat a pacy player and matching them for pace is just one such way. Sitting deep is another, marking a pacy player with two defenders to ensure he doesnt get the ball is another, tight marking is another. Fortunately we have two former international defenders in Butcher and Malpas who should by now have passed on their experiences of dealing with pace. Bobby Mann is a prime example of how players with lack of pace can still defend well, i'm not saying he was never beaten for pace but he was experienced enough to know how to deal with pacy players and often managed to snuff out attacks before pace became an issue. IMO he proved that lack of pace is not the be all and end all of a player. I feel the addition of Innes to the team will provide much needed back up and experience and providing we can sign a left back to challenge Golly or indeed come in at first choice then we should have a reasonably strong defence.
  23. link here glad to see this as well:
  24. It says in todays Courier that the Elgin game will feature the majority of the first team squad while the Strathspey game will feature a more youthful side
