  1. We were discussin how odd it is with Duff. He is in general technically superior to most of our central midfielders, is cool under pressure and then........ he seems to pass it badly, take one touch too many or otherwise make the wrong decision. I agree that the performance was not too bad, other than giving away a very soft goal. I have to say from where I sat I thought it was a penalty. However the penalty taker is not allowed to break his run any more and the fact that Esson was thrown by this showed the shocking standard of the refereeing today. Pass marks for Ross (centre midfield is definately his best position - although shooting practice required), Shanchez, Shinnie (apart from a 10 min spell where he lost his way a bit). Rooney's impact was noticeable once he left when suddenly the central pair from Hamilton started looking much more comfortable. What is going on with Foran. For the last while he looks a fraction of the player we know he is. We also need a new right back (no disrespect to Tokely but his best position is now centre-half) Duncan showed why he should be playing when he came on. Not confident for Wednesday if we do not get 11 players all on form. Unless there is an improvement at home I suspect crowds will continue to dwindle.
  2. The figure which I heard last night that was turned down was actually ?150k
  3. Whilst I'm the first to admit that I am not convinced by Sanchez (even more so in the SPL than the 1st Division), the fact that he is not getting much of a chance (even off the bench) when the team is playing poorly and some of the first choices are looking a bit jaded suggests that his time may be numbered and it will be interesting to see if he moves on in the Transfer window.
  4. I was told a few weeks back that DFS was looking to sell on some of his land bank. Not sure if this is related in terms of attempting to free up some capital?
  5. Tactics There is definately an issue in terms of the team looking to play on the counter attack at home. Is this Butcher's tactis or simply the team being very comfortable in playing this way? I would actually suggest to some extent the latter (which is understandable given the success away from home). After the goal was scored on Sunday the team very much dropped deep in an attempt to close out the space in the final third, however this clearly is not as effective at home for some reason. In fact even this was not even done effectively with Foran in particular often sitting too deep to provide cover for Shinnie and then moving forward too late to see the ball simply popped past him. He has to either sit in at this point or the whol eteam has to compress the game up the park. The amount of time which the St Mirren back four had to find a pass was almost embarrasing. Under very little pressure (i.e. only Rooney) it was not surprising that eventually they were able to pick out the front two - one a big lug and the other a highly mobile and pacy player. How often did our back four have time on the ball? Certainly against the weaker teams, we need to engage the opposition further up the park and put pressure on the passer. Most teams at this level do not have players who are technically capable of playing a fast one touch type game (I accept that we may need to be a bit more cautious against Rangers and Celtic otherwise we may run out of gas too quickly by overpressing - see the first game of the season!) Support I'm not sure we will ever find an answer to this issue, however having attend many English Premier League games the difference in atmosphere is incredible (even allowing for the difference in crowd size) and I am not simply talking about singing. The most noticible thing is when there is a goal scoring opportunity or dubious refereeing decision almost the whole ground is on their feet being involved. It actually seems that a lot of the crowd just don't seem to care enough about the rsult. Is this a symptom of a relatively young team or a less 'working class' support? I do think we have gone backwards since Don "gave up" the role of Announcer. We now just have a few songs and the team quickly read out a few minutes before the game. The match starting is now almost an anti-climax.
  6. Get a goal, switch off, drop deep and wait till the equaliser comes! In the second half we switch to a more traditional 4-4-2 which makes us look tactically much more stable and results in very few chances for St Mirren. We then run out of steam and do not make substitutions and lose an unfortunate goal. Whilst individuals had poor games, I would think that Butcher should look himself in the mirror and ask whether he should have changed the formation and made the subsitutions earlier! We seem to be incapable of taking home games by the scruff of the neck and being positive in an attacking sense.
  7. It is hard to see on the face of it how this is a good move for either party. Is the long term answer to Aberdeen's problems really to employ a 70 year old? Clearly from the statements made by Brown he fears that Motherwell may have peaked and mentions players whose contracts are up for renewal and the desire to take in new players whilst implying that this does not seem to be supported by the Board.
  8. Mmmm. We terrorise the Dons defense all afternoon but the BBC on-line highlights suggest that it was all chances for them?? The commentator seems to be carrying a grudge that Rosscoe stayed on the park for a mistimed attempt to get to the ball when Paton was red carded for attempting to stamp on Hayes?? Good to see the usual well balanced, impartial content from the BBC

It was good to be able to see the highlights and analysis on the TVs at half time as well.
  10. Sounds as though anyone taking the club up on a slot on the Electronic Advertising being used at the Celtic game will get a good audience. At ?50 plus VAT for worldwide exposure, some national companies would find it difficult to get better value for money I would have thought.
  11. You can choose your seat from those available. You can get your name on your seat, but this costs extra You can pay by installments, but at the APR it is cheaper paying by Credit Card!!! :_chaching: I got a season ticket 4-years ago. I had my name (Gringo Jnr) put on the seat. I bought another ticket the following season, and didnt request name on seat, but it was still there. I havn't had a ticket the last two seasons, but my name is still on the seat :_doh: The cost of putting the name on the seat is a one-off cost to cover the cost of arranging for a label to be made and installed on the seat and is not an annual chanrge. The club do not go round once someone has left the seat adding a new name unless a new name is requested.

  13. And then you proceed to "pick on" McCann, Munro, Tockely and Ross :_beatme:
  14. Dont ever remember a notion to make them compulsory ...... Assuming you mean an electronic scoreboard they can cost as little as ?2000 but they look pretty crap ! A good one would be far more expensive (and cost more to run)http://www.ukscoreboards.co.uk/scoreboards...um_football.htm The initial issue of the SFA Club Licensing Manual did indeed have a mandatory requirement for SPL clubs to have an electronic scoreboard. This was removed from subsequent revisions of the requirements.
  15. I seem to recall Kenny's main claim to fame from his previous time on the board was that he introduced our previous caterers from Keith (after sampling one of their pies in Applecross of all places??).
  16. Has an amicable solution been found?
  17. You're right, maybe we should all write to the board and get them build us something more akin to the Emirates Stadium!!!! :swear02: The club are between a rock and a hard place here. Issues have been raised that they HAVE to address and they are communicating with the affected fans to TRY to reach an amicable solution. I'm sure that the club, just like the fanbase at large, would prefer that this disruption could be avoided but it obviously can't. Why is it that that a proportion of contributors to this forum are always very quick to start criticising and jumping on bandwagons? Criticism is very simple to do, particularly retrospectively, but is not at all helpful. To all those that are criticising now, what would you reasonably suggest that the club should be doing that they aren't (based on the situation that the club is NOW in)? This is an overly harsh view of the opinions of the people being affected by this. The majority of people who are being asked to move appear to understand the reasons behind the request and accept the fact that something has to be done. Reaching an acceptable conclusion however is going to be dependant on the location of the alternative seating. In many occasions the people affected have been sitting in the seats for a large number of seasons and if the proposed alternative seat in a location which is less attractive (e.g. from the rear of the JMD Stand or back row of the North Stand to somewhere down the front or being moved from behind the goal towards either end of the North Stand) then clearly there is going to be a feeling that they are being short changed. Is there an alternative? Not necessarily so, however it is clearly understandable why there is some concerns and disappointment for the individuals in question.
  18. Sorry to hear that you have never had a happy birthday Still no reason not to want one.

  20. Nobody has suggested that Tokely does not wish to stay. From what I understand the issue is that he does not think that the club can match the offer he has on the table and given his age he thinks he would be foolish to ignore this. I would suggest that the contract offered by the club will determine the situation. If it is sufficiently near the other club's offer then he will probably stay, however clearly we cannot compete in terms of the basic wage with a number of other clubs.
  21. I have to say that one of the funiest things of the season happened minutes into the second half. One of our Hospitality guests thought it would be a great idea to stand up shortly after taking his seat and belt out something along the lines of "Come on Dundee, get into these Caley *%@$&#?" Not too clever with Plod standing only 6 feet away. Dragged away with his four mates trying to give the case for the defense. Two classics 1. The wag who shouted out "Officer, he tried to sell me drugs earlier" - I'm sure I even saw the edges of one of the Northern Constabulary's finesst twitch upwards :P 2. One of the four mates taking a photo of the Officers, presumably to try and put in some form of complaint! :D
  22. I understand that Roscoe has been made an offer by another club (don't know which one) which is way above what ICT will be able to offer. As this may be one of his last chances at a big pay day he is seriously considering moving on. Ultimate source is his father.
  23. They club are giving free tickets to schools for the away end? Are you sure about that, pretty sure that can't be right. Not home end tickets you got through the school? Cookiemonster is correct. Balloch Primary also have been offered tickets for away end.
  24. Metcheck currently showing 3 deg C and Sleet for Saturday
  25. Dear Mr Adams After our recent draw in Dingwall you felt it necessary to, once again, show your lack of class and unwillingness to give credit to other teams by suggesting that Inverness were, and I am paraphrasing here, 'a boring defensive team and only County were interested in scoring goals and winning games'. I would like to thank you for your comments (always nice when those less privileged in our society get the chance to air their views), but nevertheless would feel it important to note the following statistics Inverness CT Scored 71 goals Ross County Scored 46 goals There you go, facts have supported your ascertions.......perhaps?? Yours Inverness CT - Division 1 Champions 2009/10 PS - We'll have 2 bags of pegs please
