  1. Are you Borat? Are you a muppet ? What is this fixation you have with muppets. Did Miss Piggy turn your advances down leaving you bitter and twisted towards our puppets pals
  2. Whether they (his abilities) are good enough only time will tell. My point is that we do not have a Manager who has lost the dressing room, nor do we have an Assistant who is ridiculed by most of the players as being, to quote one, a "joke".
  3. To be critical is fine, however we are not playing like we where under Brewster. Yes we got beat, however out with the last 15mins of the first half we were by far the better team. We are suffering badly from injuries at the moment, particularly in defense.
  4. This will be the same Duff who is unlikely to play again this season due to his injury?
  5. This is the same Stewart that has just been released by County for not being good enough?
  6. This sounds very much like a late move by Hamilton for Hastings with Butcher having limited opportunity to find a replacement. I suspect that Hamilton offered a fee for Hastings which for a player not getting a game (and not necessarily adding something to the team if he was!) is always worth considering. In Golly we have a player who has played SPL and knows what the 1st Division is about. For those saying Golly is fatter than before, he was considerably slimmer last season than he was in his final year before moving. In terms of pace, technical ability, tackling, aerial ability and presence LDZ is the better player by far than Hastings. Unfortunately when he has to make a decision or engage his brain it all seems to fall apart! Shinnie offers a lot in the LB role, however he stills needs to be hardened up and even against Stranraer (where he was a possible MoTM) he was caught out a few times by bigger stronger and more street wise players. Would we have liked to see a younger player coming in? Clearly yes. Is this the disaster some are making out? I suspect not. In all the histeria regarding LDZ on Saturday, he was not responsible for the debacle (or indeed missing an easy header to clear in advance of the third goal).
  7. Frankly this games questions Butchers tactical abilities. As mentioned in earlier posts, we did not even turn up. So, do we try and sort out some of the problems. N0! We wait till we are two nil down. Stratfords performance was an absolute shocker. The fact that he stayed on the park for longer than 15minutes is impossible to comprehend. I assume that as one of Butcher's signings he is immune to being removed when having a shocker (although to be honest I cannot recall a game where he has looked anything other than ordinary). We were crying out for the central midfielders to get closer to their men. Even Duncan's harshest critics cannot deny that he showed how this was done when he came on. Removing Procter when Zadi is being at best 'Random' (sorry this is a term which my 10 year old daughter has introduced me to)??? County deserved all three points for at least turning up. Butcher needs to sort out the tactics, and a lot of players need to look in the mirror. I do not know what McBain and Duncan make of being left on the fringes in favour of some of the new guys. At least Bulvitus and Hayes look as though they have something about them.
  8. Some grounds around the country have TV screens visible from the queue which show live action from the match. Obviously there is a cost (and logistics) associated with this, however the point relates to the fact that this solves the inevitable problem of people missing parts of the game through standing in long queues. Even having Sky TV showing Soccer Saturday would help.
  9. Are you referring to someone with Caley D's figure (no personal offence meant ) having the balls to wear a shirt like that......... :P
  10. Cringeworthy, gaudy and tasteless. I'll let you decide if that is Caley D's patter or shirt :003: On a more serious note, well done to Caley D. Even if some of the dialogue verged on downright awful, it is pleasing to see some interaction with crowd and an attempt to stimulate an atmosphere. There still needs to be some fine tuning of the content and possibly an increase in the amount of music played, however I know from going to a number of Premier League venues in England, there is a huge amount of effort put in to provide pre-match and half-time involvement with the crowd. Better than listening to Grassa And Mikey Noble screeching out "Bring it on Home" and watching to see if any penalties at will actually get scored in the Flybe challange with Jim Calder accidentaly going the wrong way!
  11. There is a statement on the Official Site which also covers this. I have to say, the standard of both the food and the service has never been adequate from our current provider. I know that a lot of us are fed up with barely edible food and Cups of Coffee where the tide is well and truley out. We were discussing at the Clach game how embarassing it is to have a Highland League team providing top quality (indeed Award Winning!) food at better prices than ICT. I think that a phone call from Mr Smith to "Dougal's" agent with the offer of a lucrative transfer across the City is needed.
  12. A right back and a player who doesn't turn up for half the games??? We spent most of last season with poor service for the strikers from an inability to have wide players who can cross a ball. In Rooney and Barrowman we have players who can finish, but not create. Again Foran can get on the end of crosses. The team is crying out for wide players to provide service and improve our ability to score.
  13. We seem to be in the situation where our options for right midfield consist of Proctor or Imrie, neither of whom are the answer. Is there any thoughts or knowledge on how we are proposing to fill this position. I suspect that TB was less than happy with Cowie being sold a couple of days before the transfer window following Barry being released. We never really found an answer to this and in the SFL there seems to be little need to have a defensive wide midfielder in the way in which it was necessary against the better teams in the SPL. This is possibly the weakest area of the team at the moment, although it could be argued we are also short of a forwarding looking central midfielder.
  14. The type of person who is good at being a Commercial Manager in a football club is generally different to that of a Chief Exec (or General Manager). The Commercial Manager needs to have a bit of flair (in a commercial sense) and have excellent communication skills as they are 'customer facing'. The Chief Execs role is to implent policy from the Board and in the terms of the football club minimise outgoings to deliver the Business Plan. In a traditional business the Cheif Exec is effectively there to maximise profit for the Shareholder - in a football club it is a slightly different situation for obvious reasons. Ultimately CaleyD is correct in that it is a return versus outlay arguement. Commercial Manager - Takes in more than he costs Chief Exec - 'Saves' more than he costs Some people can combine the two, however this is not the case in the majority of situations.
  15. In which case the players should have been severly diciplined. You mean the fans jumped on the bandwagon without making their own minds up? I don't recall much in the way of capitulation leading to us all clammering for his sacking. My recollection is of a lomg running debate over several months where strong views on both sides were aired. Towards the end of November it however became apparent that he had lost the dressing room and lost his way. It is extremely easy to say that Brewster would have kept us up - you will never be proven wrong. I think however I like most will sleep easily with the knowledge that he would probably have managed to get us relegated by the middle of March.
  16. I think you will find it was the players that "turned on him" and decided to stop playing for him :clapping03: The majority of fans (I am excluding ones who never wanted him back in the first place) simply saw what was happening and reacted rationally as a result.
  17. I know that this may place me in the minority, however I would be happy paying a bit more (?20 or ?30) for the season ticket if this allows us to have a few more better players. Every little helps (I'll probably be sued by a well known supermarket chain now!)

    Barrowman

Barrowman is not on ?2k per week. The deal was a stepped wage structure, which I understand averages out at ?1.4k over 3 seasons (he was on a fair bit less this season), and was on similar to other senior players (Grantie, etc). I do not know what provisions are as a result of the drop - if there are none I suspect he may be moved on! He needs to be given a fair crack at the whip before we decide whether he is good or bad. We buy a penalty box player and hardly ever get the ball in there at the moment!

    New Stadium

Our major shareholder has already selected where he wishes the new stadium to be built!
  20. The most significant suggestion I would make is to try and get closer to the fans. At most (English) Premier League and a few of the SPL grounds the announcer is actually out on the pitch (or in front of the main stand) and gets involved with the half time entertainment, etc. I appreciate that this requires somebody to be doing the 'controls and buttons' however the impact from walking around in front of the fans with a clipboard is actually quite significant.

    Team For Falkirk.

After Kerr and Rooney's performances today I suspect that they may not feature
  22. Lets see. 1. One of our most consistent players. 2. We look out of balance and weaker when he is not playing. 3. Probably one of the first players to be on the team sheet. Yep, we should punt him Right. Which of our players will we slag off next!
  23. What, its not wholly CB? Why haven't you mentioned this before!!! :thumb04:
  24. I think that time may have blurred just how grim the football was in our first season. In general Sergei response to losing the first goals was to remove a striker and put on another defender! He had lost the players completely and this was shown during one of the home games late in the season (I think it may have been Cowdenbeath in March?) when the players effectively decided before the game what tactics they were going to use and pretty much ignored everything they were told by the management (I know this due to one of the players working at the time with my father in law). I suspect the changed performance and this clear statement from the players pretty much sealed his fate in many ways. I don't think anyone could harbour a grudge against such a pleasant man as SB, but in the end everyone was glad that he moved on.
