Inverness CT -V- Dunfermline
Agreed, however he has now demonstrated how thin the squad is. In other circumstances, this would be followed by a demand for more money, to strengthen the squad. We all know that that's unrealistic. So I'm half expecting to hear "I've done all I can here. There's nothing more I can do.".

Inverness CT -V- Dunfermline
Bizarre thing to say. Presumably he's referring to players who were in the team last night? In which case one question is "Was it any worse than other recent games?", and another is "Is that how you encourage them?". If he's referring to players who aren't regularly in the team, then he's strengthening their case.

Reigniting the spark.
So, as the Chairman of the reconstituted CJT, are you attempting to set up lines of communication with the board? I appreciate that most of your efforts just now will be going towards getting CJT up and running. But formal contact with the Chairman and key ICT staff - if only to say "Hi, we're here, and we look forward to working with you" - would surely be useful? You make valid points, which should be discussed. Maybe you're doing this already, but all I see are your posts here.

You don't have to watch the match? ?

Hearts Game
Given how the Irn Bru Cup win perked us up last season, I shudder to think what effect this might have...

Who wants Gary Warren to stay?
You might want to discuss this at your next meeting! Nothing you say is untrue, but the concept of being a "representative" - in most Western democracies, such as our Parliaments - means that you are empowered to use your own judgement in trying to do the best for those whom you represent. You are not a delegate, sent to vote a particular way. Yes, you should listen to the supporters, but in some cases it may be that you as a Board member, and indeed the CJT Board, may take a formal position which is different from what you believe the majority of members may want. I can't think of a specific example, but it's quite possible that you might end up supporting, or not opposing, or not speaking against, some unpopular action taken by the ICT Board, even if the majority of members were apparently against it. You are, as you say, democratically accountable to the membership. Just like MPs, you are empowered to take your own decisions, and if the membership don't like what you do, then they will periodically have a chance to vote you out! I offer this as a constructive observation, as I think that it's very important for you all to achieve a common understanding of your powers and goals, and policies and strategies, before you set out on what will probably be a rocky road. I wish you all the best of luck!

Who wants Gary Warren to stay?
I appreciate that it's very early days for the new-look CJT, but maybe you could organise something to be presented to him at his first game at his new club, since we never had a chance to say goodbye. Maybe a memento of the Highlands, rather than of ICT itself.

Music for the team to run out too
Back at the end of the 60s, I played the records at Kingsmills for a couple of seasons. A regular was the "Dam Busters March" by the Central Band of the RAF. (Not exactly in tune with the zeitgeist, I know....) It was a 7 inch single, so one day I flipped it over and played the B-side - the RAF band doing the old tune "Lilliburlero". After a minute or so, someone came hastily into the small room where the record player and PA were, and said "You can't play that! It's an anti-Catholic song!". News to me. My reply was "You're probably the only person in the ground who knows that". Mind you, from the after-match sing-songs on the team bus I learned that there was a Catholic version of "The Sash", so that reply might not have been accurate. And now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Music for the team to run out too
A tune by a local lad that could surely never be considered "twee". Runrig - "The Engine Room". They'll be needing a bit of extra money now that they are calling it a day.

Who would you like to see at ICT next season?
The last thing we need is another injury-prone player.

Confirmed
Whenever we play County next season, we should be able to get them down to 10 men within a few minutes. It's a JOKE!!!

Cove Rangers
Yup - I was disappointed too. Another Highland team that thinks the officials are against them - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44096432 Was also disappointed that Peterhead missed out on promotion after being second in the division by one point, and 22 points and 31 goals ahead of Stenhousemuir. Still, Peterhead had two sent off - clearly suicide when you're already 2-0 down from the first leg. My wife's family are all Stenny supporters, so I'd better not say any more!

Recruitment Policy?
Interesting idea, and well-worthy of discussion. Not quite the same scenario, but back in Highland League days, Jock McDonald sometimes offered a job at Tomatin Distillery to a player whom he was trying to persuade to sign for Thistle. Useful if it was someone from outside the area, with no local connections. If memory serves me right, Ian Cumming, the captain of his first league-winning team, was one such. There may well have been others.

We now have five pages of speculation since last Sunday, based solely - as far as I know - on the posting above. The world is crying out for such creativity

My own preference - not aimed at anyone in particular, or aimed at everyone, if you like - would be "The rest is silence".

You could look at the pitch and see grass on it! Then peer underneath and see the Longman Aquifer...

Dumbarton v ICT - Game On Wed
Nope, grass. They have just issued a rallying call: "We need volunteers tonight at the @Dumbartonfc Stadium to help fork the playing surface and clear the standing water to help the chances of the re-arranged fixture, planned for tomorrow going ahead. Time - 6pm - bring a garden fork and/or a soft brush." So if anyone is in the area...

Send in the OPWC inspectors to look for fluoride in the water Is there another aquifer there?

12 week minimum ban for standing
How can you have more than one "minimum recommended" length of ban for a first offence? For example, you run onto the pitch. You are slung out, and you receive a written warning. But is the minimum recommended ban 12 weeks, 6 months or 12 months?
