Ex-Caley Chairman worth more than Thierry Henry!
Maybe our defence needs some sponsoring now. They've been oh so terribly charitable of late. 'Tis the season and all that , etc,etc :023:

Merged Killie gloating topic
I reckon if Stevie Wonder was playing for us we'd have sneaked it. Might have got a tune out of him at half time too.

That's Better!!
Thats better, in previous weeks we have conceded 2,3,1 and 3 goals, we have indeed bettered that , 4 goals shipped at home takes the money this week , and the consolation is we played a wee bitty football and scored three goals ( I did think DODs might get his hattrick ) ... oh well I'm sure we can't better that.

Mark Brown and penalties
Maybe there wasn't much Brown could have done at the three goals, and the penalty save wasn't likely either, but honestly some of the saves Smith pulled off today he had no right to make - including the penalty today Brown only had maybe five or six saves to make...4 out of 6 isn't a bad ratio for shots to goals. :024:

ICT - The Future?
Charlie Christie will learn more about his players and himself during these lean times , which can only make him a better coach/manager...given real backing ( which I sense the club more than the fans are willing to give ) and just a little time I think we will see out this wee storm and hopefuly get focussed on building a new team over the coming seasons.

Lets have a honest opinion with no slagging others views
It's inevitable that we would come off the crest off the wave in the SPL sooner or later , maybe the fact that the situation looks so damning now takes the eyes off the fact that the malaise has been creeping in for longer than results show us . The playing squad at ICT needs improved , continually tweaked, like every other SPL club needs to do to improve the quality of play and results ...the standard of players here reflect on the geographical position of our club , financial constraints and managerial decisions regarding player recruitment. The fact which hasn't helped is the short tenure of Brewster and now CC's turn at the helm giving us a set of players and team selection which was selected to play one way , then another with the managers changeover - there hasn't been the overall stability which is needed to add to the squad whilst keeping in mind the mid to long term goal of how the game should be played in many peoples eyes...including the current man in the firing line. Maybe when we pick up a few more points and put the mini crisis to the back of our minds the powers that be can really try to plan out our development at playing level for the next few years , ensuring we evolve form the " hard to beat, well organised" team that we currently aren't.

Caley for UEFA Cup?
Theres a little excited, and theres talking about European Football in October...reality check please.
-
WYNESS
I think Bayne is closing in on a suspension soon as he is collecting a nice deck of yellows - I think he's been unlucky with a few but also he could've seen red as well...Wyness will surely get the nod over Rory for the starting spot....unless 10cc goes all 'tactical' on us . :006: Could also be an opportunity for McSwegan to get onto the bench. :024:

Caley for UEFA Cup?
If it was February/March then we could focus on these lofty aspirations but as it's the last day of October and we have some hard winter months ahead which are usually when the league positions are shaken up into something more like what they will be in May. I'd go along with the old cliche - take one match at a time - lets focus on Aberdeen , then Hibs,Celtic etc etc...

"NORTH TONIGHT" - GIVE THEM LALDY
"Sheepsh@ggers mauled by Teuchters" ...that'd do for me!! :011:

Investment Confusion
A nothing story from the start - that is until the news starved local media got their wee mitts on it. AS has ended this one, although this sort of story will recur over the coming months as Savage conducts both his and ICT's business.

PELE
Interesting appointment , I don't think P-Head will be paying huge wages but at the same time SP & NC won't be cheap , I'd say promotion within 2 years would be the target set for them. Good luck to them - both Paterson and Cooper have assured their places in Highland footballing history as they turned Scottish footballs newbies into respectable, established teams...with Paterson building an ethos into ICT that through many of his players still at the club and one of his most talented disciples now at the helm! :022:

Hearts in turmoil
...not much 'debate ' there .... :006: " Now they see what will be , blinded eyes do see" Hetfield

Duncan Offski??
I think when we signed him he was billed as a right sided forward/attacking midfielder, so I suppose he has done well in the middle over the last few years.

SANTA GAME V DONS
So does the added cost of an overnight stay and the fact it's on telly not sway you in favour of staying away then? I'm sure you would still be a SUPPORTER as you have logistical reasons for your choice of action. :024:

C.C Tactical genius?
As I mentioned earlier , if we hadn't gone two down so early I don't think CC would have switched formation until nearly the end - even though it was obvious the 3-5-2 was hurting us...the other thing about the comeback that hasn't been mentioned much is the fact that Russell Latapy is well known for only having a good hour or so of football in his tank - before the fags kick in and he fades out of the game...like he did yesterday. :004:
-
John Rankin
Give a thought for poor/stupid Andrew Smith who reported our match for SoS....he thinks we have an author playing in our midfield - none other than Ian Rankin!!! :015:
-
Teflon Tokely
If we had someone like Latapy in the team I'd hope we didn't become a one trick pony like Falkirk. :006:
-
Now THAT's entertainment.....
Entertaining - right enough - value for money in the end. I was wondering today during the game - (a) when we last came form a goal down to win ( never mind two goals down ) (b) when was the last time we scored direct from a free kick. I couldn't find an answer for either question , fortunately I witnessed both today. :001: :001:

ICT V Falkirk (matchday thread)
I don't think the BBC had someone at the game then. I think the MOtM point is being missed there - regardless of how poor any of our team was for 60 minutes it could only be Rankin ( or Higgins ) who got MOtM...his goals won the game - end of story.
-
That Falkirk Keeper
...he should be on the first plane back to Brisbane! :006:
-
John Rankin
For most of the first hour all of our midfield were not in the game at all , looked like they were a yard slower than the Bairns, but then again we were outnumbered in the middle with their 3-5-2 which can give that impression...after our switch they all started performing - getting to the loose ball, making more space to play in and we never looked back...Rankin did get more involved from then onwards.
-
C.C Tactical genius?
With Falkirk springing three at the back on us it wasn't really a surprise that they dominated possesion in two thirds of the field , albeit their opener was well worked it was only Grants slip that put Stokes through with only Dods and Brown to beat , apart from all their possession they didn't look that dangerous. As for tactical genius well it was a decision ( to match their formation ) that needed to be made but I'm not sure if we hadn't conceded the second so early whether CC would have stuck to the 4-4-2 and just made orthodox substitutions.

North Tonight, UNFECKINBELIEVABLE
So, cutting to the chase Sandy...you think that because Dons fans and Huns don't get along that we should have been leading the sports news on STV - just to give the Dandies something to gloat about! The words straws and clutching at spring to mind there... :002: ...and I think the animosity between the reds and the blues was 'exascerbated' by the Durrant incident, but it began before that I'm sure.
