  1. 1 goal I don't want to go over old ground, but the point about Dennis is that he had agreed a contract and it had been unavailable for him to sign as arranged on the Friday and when he turned up to sign it on the Monday morning he was told that it had been withdrawn following a poor TEAM performance on the Saturday. 1 game doesn't make a player or a team.
  2. DoF did explain his role as he does have an obvious remit, but he is also vice chairman of the board of directors.
  3. At the club AGM, David Sutherland (Chairman of the Supporers Trust - not Mr Tulloch) asked what the roles were of the current board and the answer was that they didn't have any specific roles or areas of responsibility, although that was something that they were prepared to look at. All the board members are successful business men in their own right, so I can't understand the problem when they get together to run our football club. While it isn't their responsibility to put their hands into their pockets (something that some of them do in a lot of different ways), but they do have a responsibilty that we have a business model which is sustainable. Increasing revenue streams and ensuring that all avenues are being explored. Unlike the current situation where things are getting worse and worse, so the crowds will drop and drop, losing revenue at every game. Less fans = less strips, less programmes, etc, etc, etc.
  4. 5 new players
  5. Fair play Scotty Wasn't trying to stirr anything, but just thought it would be useful for the fans to know who our board actually are. I'm not splitting hairs but as far as I know Ian MacDonald is no longer a director, but he is still Company Secretary. Here's the link to the official site Scotty mentions and as he says Ian MacDonald is still listed as a board member. Official Site Mike Smith does report to the board and I agree what you are saying about DFS, just though it would be good to share this info. Sorry if it caused any upset.
  6. Most people assume that DFS and MS are on the board, so that was 1 point I was hoping to clear up. Now how many and who are the rest? (not sure there are currently 6 Scotty)
  7. Just for now - if you don't mind.
  8. Not yet!
  9. Okay - Many of us are showing our displeasure at the current situation of out beloved football club. Many are shouting for the board to take action. I then wondered how many people actually know who sits on the ICT board of directors. Two questions: 1. How many members are there on the board? 2. Who are they? Plain and simple. I'm sure that this information may be available if you go looking, but that would spoil the point of this exercise. So from the top of your head - name them!!!!!!!!!! I'll be back later to give you marks out of ten. :thumb04: There are many myths about out there right now, so just hoping to clear a few things up.
  10. :thumb04: :015: :018: ;)
  11. Thursday 11th Dec - ?100 goes to a Mr Scott MacKenzie who lives in Toronto, CANADA.
  12. I also think this is a big mistake. Barry still has the ability to turn a game and I think until such time as we find the 'young' Barry Wilson, we should be hanging on to Barry. I also know that Barry is a popular figure in the dressing room and has the respect of the players. I think this may be a role which is equal to, if not even more important than his contribution on the park. I really hope that ICT can find him a coaching role somewhere as he has too much experience to just give away to the benefit of another team. Robbo and Barry would make an ideal management team IMHO. They both have similar views on how the game should be played and I think we would once again see some entertaining football played at home.
  13. :thumb04: :018: ;) As Writeoncaley says 'Haste ye Back'. Couldn't put it better myself. A player/mentor/coach/colleague etc etc, respected at all levels - I'm really disappointed to return from Christmas shopping to hear this news. I hope we can find a coaching role (hopefully with ICT) before your contract expires. Thanks and good luck.xx
  14. The Supporter's Trust remains very active and a mailing to members is due shortly. (Stevico/Clacher etc are your memberships paid up or would you like me to send you forms? - just PM me your address and I'll get them in the post) Website is currently being reviewed as we have had some fairly significant issues with the current software. We hope to have the newly improved site available very soon. The Supporter's Trust meet with the football club on a regular basis and recently had the new chairman, director of football and Chief Exec at one of our board meetings for an informal chat. Send your questions and comments to [email protected] and they will be taken to the Football Club. This doesn't have to wait until the next scheduled meeting. (Last one was today/yesterday 9th Dec). Advanced warning AGM January 22nd 2009. Put the date in your diaries now. I've been away for a couple of days and for what it's worth, I think that not renewing Barry's contract is a big mistake. Not sure the Supporters Trust can change that, but we can share your general discontent if you e-mail us with your comments.
  15. Robbo and Barry would do for me. I like Robbo's style of play and we did well under him. Barry has done some of his coaching badges and would be an able assistant. Barry is a player who is well respected by the team and has lots to offer the younger guys coming through the ranks. Both of these guys like to play FOOTball. I would also like to see Charlie back on board in some capacity at some time in the future and in some coaching role. We must hang on to Barry at least until the end of the season so that if/when we have a change in managerial circumstances he's still here to step up.
  16. We all know Dennis is very much a 'form' player, so please as I am for him, I would prefer if he hadn't started scoring for a couple more weeks. Would also have preferred he scored an equaliser rather than the winner as we don't need St Mirren picking up points
  17. Profit from the events will go to the player, then it's up to the player what he does with it.
  18. Barry has already done a lot of his coaching badges, so he could make the step into coaching role fairly easily. I would love this to be at ICT as I believe he is a great guy to have in the dressing room and I think he is well respected by his team mates. Not sure we'll see this happen during Brewster's reign unfortunately which would be a shame.
  19. I am delighted to let you know that Jaimie Duff has had a late call up to the Scotland under 21's. I think he is a bit of a star in the making. I am really pleased for Jaimie, but also for ICT to be recognised in this way. :018: :thumb04:
  20. Pretty much my understanding of events - Dennis was made the scapegoat for a poor team performance. (I do think that his agent had tried to add something on at the last minute (without Dennis's knowledge) and this gave the club the get out they were looking for and withdrew the offer). Very poorly handled IMHO. I know that Dennis and his family were settled and wanted to stay in the area, so he was happy to sign on the terms agreed.

    Respect

However, up until now it has always been a rarity at our club. In fact, I can't recall ever having seen our players talking back to or swearing at the management, and the fact that they now seem to have started doing this makes me suspect that things are definitely going very wrong in the dressing room. Maybe so but lets not make things worse by lip reading and assuming what was said Okay - fair enough, but do the words really matter. I think the point of this topic is that the players don't seem to be showing the respect that they maybe should towards their manager. It may happen at other clubs, but not often at ours. I'm sure the tension felt by the manager is also felt by the players and as they are naturally competitive people I'm sure tempers can flare up from time to time. I was just very surprised by the response from this particular player and I wasn't the only one who saw it or read his lips. The bench were well within earshot so they will have no doubt what was said.

    Respect

I was sitting very close to Brewnoclue and I certainly was very aware of the unrest. I didn't hear the words from one player, but I'm quite good at lip reading. ;) :018: First word definitely began with F and I think probably contained about 4 letters and was followed by something that looked very like OFF. However, this was then followed with a longer word beginning with a W, not sure that was a sign of respect to the manager. I was very surprised to see these particular players talking back. Quote of the night from someone in the Main Stand, just as Malky was talking to Barry just before he went on to the park. 'And you're trying to tell him how to play football' :thumb04: Bit like trying to teach your Granny to suck eggs I suppose.
  23. Certainly should make work a bit easier on Monday. Some smiling faces for a change.
  24. I spoke to him on the phone a number of times and he was a really nice down to earth guy. First of all the contact was regarding the T-shirts and he just gave me his mobile number and asked me to contact him directly about the order. We in turn raised money for a charity he supported, which was a childrens hospice in Carlisle. I dropped the money off at their ground when I was on holiday, they had a great staff and his son accepted the money on his behalf. I spoke to him before the cup final where he authorised a block booking for us to take a bus down, even after the game was officially sold out. He had a great vision to get kids back to the game and invested a lot in community schemes as well as the rocky the rooster club which gave members free admission to all home games. Membership was only a tenner so it was a great idea. Unfortunately these things were unsustainable without his ongoing investment. He loved every minute of his involvement in the game. I actually only met him once and that was when we played them here, he wasn't well enough to make that length of journey but he decided to come anyway with someone else to do the driving. A true fan at heart. In my eyes a great guy and a huge loss to the game. Now a huge loss to his family. He was obviously out in his garden which I think is good that he was still able to get about, his garden and his animals meant the world to him. So his son Craig and all the family - my thoughts are with you all. RIP Brooks
  25. You bet me to it, I just popped in to do exactly the same thing.
