Yngwie, my understanding is that once a deal had been agreed, it was difficult for a meeting to be arranged with Dennis's Agent and our DoF to finalise the details. I do believe that this deal was done, bar the signature. Just look at the press the week before the withdrawal, they all reported an ageement had been reached and just required a signature, in fact Brew was quoted as saying as much. Some turn around over the course of a weekend!!! I'm sure his agent held out for the best deal possible, but unlike Duncan, he never looked elsewhere as he was always happy to stay in Inverness. Whatever the truths, to take someone so far along the line and then withdraw the offer is out of order.

Disappointed to read that Brew has changed his story and now says that he put the contract talks on hold as they were going on too long. My understanding is that any delay was with ICT and not Dennis who had agreed terms a few weeks ago. :020:

No Dennis wasn't looking around for another club, he was happy to stay with ICT and agreed terms some time ago. The delay in signing was nothing to do with Dennis, he would happily have signed if the paperwork had been made available.

Do you really think Dennis can afford to sit about until the end of the season, just to see if ICT have a change of heart. Dennis didn't go looking for another deal as he is happy in the area and was quite happy to sign his new contract. He has a family to consider and I'm sure he will need something a bit more secure than that. As has been said before his oldest daughter is due to start school in August, so it's important they are settled by then. Don't know which teams his agent is talking to, but I would expect him to secure a summer move sooner rather than later. Was he treated fairly? Currently 14% of voters think yes :017: His contract was agreed and due to be signed before the Falkirk game, so to have it withdrawn when the delay in signing was outwith his control I believe is very harsh indeed. Highland News are running with Dennis's story and they will have a poll in place on www.highland-news.co.uk to ask if you think Dennis was treated fairly. Good interview with Dennis and it seems his agent already has a few interested parties, some SPL, some not. He has to have a good long think about what is best as he has to put his family first. I hope he gets something sorted quickly.

So will it be Bayne and/or Rory up front, or will he expect Dennis to come in and povide the cover required?

I have said once or twice on the other threads, that had they chosen not to renew his contract, I could have lived with that, but this treatment absolutely stinks of unprofessionalism As far as I know the deal had been agreed for a while and is backed up by press reports last week that it was due to be signed. I don't believe that Dennis was responsible for the delay. Anyway this is being discussed on the contracts thread so no point in duplication. Let's keep this thread as a show of support for Denzil.

Not for the first time the news breaks first on Caleythistleonline, closely followed by the BBC, but nothing on the official web site. It would have looked better if they had made an announcement. Press conference today at lunch time, so I'm guessing it will be discussed then. I should add that this is a routine press conference and not a special one arranged following yesterday's revelations.

Dean has returned to the UK and I think he is spending some time in England, therefore he remains an ICT player. He must have a good agent as he's at least winning some good trials. I hope he gets sorted with something soon. He scores for fun in the reserves.

As I said, if they had decided not to offer him a contract I could live with that as that is their perogative. But to offer him a deal and spend some time coming to an agreement just to change their mind is not on. This is people's lives we are talking about. How could he be about to sign on Friday, all the press releases from last week back this up, and then, after a poor 45 mins of football the offer is withdrawn. I would say that was a bit of a hammer blow to Denzil.

I don't believe we'll find a replacement for the same money and I don't think we can afford to pay much more to be honest. I am very saddened by today's events, it seems very unprofessional. If the contract was agreed, then surely you don't go back on your word. I am absolutely gutted for ICT and for Dennis and his family, who are really settled in the area and were looking forward to the next few years here at least.

Dennis will sign his Russell may or may not depending on what other offers he receives. His first choice is to stay in Inverness, but we don't seem to be able to come up with a decent offer

The Supporter's Trust do have a voice and we meet monthly with the club. We will follow up complaints, from all fans (not just members), but we don't actually get many formal complaints. Most people like to hide behind the anonymity of this forum and moan. Many of the moans and groans are justified, but unless we have actual complaints, naming names, seat numbers etc, there's very little we can do. I have asked repeatedly for people to obtain seat numbers of away fans in the home end so that the purchaser can be traced. Problems with stewards/police, give us badge numbers, witness details etc. Then we can possibly get somewhere.

If that is the quoted reason then it is utter ***** !!! Do you know who sat there for many years through the lower divisions ? ... yes, it was ME :003:, Big Stu, Calum, and Stu's brother Ross (although a lot of the time Blair or Willie Fisher would get his ticket as he was working away). To one side was P&B, Sian, ATT (Above the Tunnel), and a few others, to the other side Doresboy, Guzz, Uncle Albert, Kenny & Barry Wright etc ..... We might have got worked up and shouted "words of encouragement" over the tunnel to ICT players and opposition alike but I can 1000% guarantee that there was never a stick or any other object poked down in the direction of any player, nor a desire to do so. If that is what is being said, and it is being said about seasons in the lower divisions then I would like more details as it appears to be defamatory. Yes Scotty I know that is where you sat and a lot of the people you mention still sit in that area. I did say that there either was an issue or the possibility of there being an issue. It may just have been a risk assessment. I don't have details, but I was told that was the original reason for the ban, but with the tunnel now in place this could be reviewed. I also have to say that this wasn't the current management who gave me this information but someone who was involved with the club when the ban was first introduced. Caley4life has met with Mike Smith and does have a direct route to discuss this directly with him, but the Trust will happily seek clarification if required.

I think you are right Scotty. As I say we have made some progress with the surfing flag and would hope to have one in place, although this would probably be next season. I believe that this 'ban' was at the request of the police while some discussion went on regarding the pros/cons/risks involved. My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that the 'stick' ban is an ICT ruling and not an SPL/SFA blanket ban. I think that there were problems years ago, in the lower divisions before we had a players tunnel with people poking sticks down into the tunnel area or at least having the ability to do so if they wished, so the decision to ban them was put in place to avoid this issue.
