  1. Hi There, I'll bite, Dunc, eh sorry Dougal Not quite sure if jealousy is the best thing to accuse me, and others of. I have no aspirations to be a manager or player. I just feel rancour about to the smug grinning way that DS milked the adulation of the Seagulls in the studio audience. I did not feel any desire for him and Pele to fail at Pittodrie, but felt a wee bit "told you so" when they did. I do not, as a rule, chastise players or managers for moving. Many have a short career in what is a notoriously unforgiving profession. I was disappointed when they left, but would have done exactly the same thing, were I in his position. We had rumblings that they were going to go, and waited an official announcement and waited. Then his apprearance just cheapened everything that they had acheived at ICT. This maybe gives us an insight into his character, and not a good one. As another poster has intimated, we have ours suspicions that SP may not have moved without the influence of DS. A bad call, as it happened.
  2. Fans of ICT learned by The Red Ballon's appearance on Off The Ball TV show that he and Pele were leaving ICT to join Aberdeen. Humiliating, disloyal and cheap. There are many here that will never forgive him. I am one.
  3. When I lived in Aberdeen I would occassionally go to Pittodrie. When in Ediburgh, I would go to Gorgie or Hibs, depending where my flat was. Then one day in Edinburgh, I took the train through to Stirling to see Caley play ICT, must have been about 1990. I was back home within the year and have been attending as a homer ever since.
  4. I am glad this match isn't on tonight, as I am lying watching television and would have missed it.
  5. There has been a great turn out from ex Caley players who want to play in Roy's testimonial to mark his ten years service to the club. Mark Brown, Jimmy Calder, Bobby Mann, Stuart McCaffrey, Barry Wilson, Liam Keogh, Barry Wilson, Charlie Christie, Paul Sheerin, Dennis Wyness, Graham Bayne & Craig Brewster have all signed up for the night and John Robertson and Pele are going to be managers for the night. Looks like it is going to be a good night with alot of the old faces coming back to Inverness for the night. That is a great pool to have to play with and kudos to Craig Brewster for coming back. That takes guts.
  6. Great result. Nice to see Imrie getting stuffed, did he do the run over when he scored? I wonder if he saluted our fans after this match? Can see Rooney marching up the scorers table. Great to listen to, so must have been even better to be there. Can't wait for the highlights! Keep us up with the pack. Is there a split appearing between us and Dun Utd? Hope so.
  7. I think tm4tj is spot on, and what is more. I think we will drop down in the 2nd quarter. There is always a good run for the newly promoted side, a mix of honeymoon and that no-one knows your players. The next bit will be different. Top 6 is not unrealistic, but a euro place would see me eating my beret.
  8. Not quite sure why Cox wasn't the first choice replacement for Russell. Whilst I like Eric, I feel supersub is where he serves the team best. It would have been a different game had one of our early chances gone in, then it wouldn't have made much difference, but when Rooney and Hayes have to come so far back to pick up a ball then something is amiss. The standside linesman made some strange calls, but nonetheless, I think The Well just shaded it. At our best, in the middle of the first half and end of second we could have got something from the game and we will beat them away. However, slightly worried by the lack of good strikes from Rooney. I do not believe that unlike Hayes, he has found his SPL form yet. Good game though. No complaints.
  9. Praps, but as it says he has been lecturing there in coaching - theory and practice. Sure testimony that they value his work in that field. If we win the league he will get a professorhood.
  10. Well done to Terry. Good for the club, but also shows that academic success and a theroetical approach to your chosen profession, whatever it is brings both results and plaudits. Remember kids, stay at school
  11. My thoughts exactly, mate, but look what happened to them. Just the old cynic in me doesn't want to see a crash and burn later in the season or the next one.
  12. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xfgf0q_rangers-v-inverness-ct-fulltime-show-oct-30th-2010_sport Highlights from Huntv on Dailymotion. Surprisingly generous comments...who is that? Tx to eagleyed Ron Thompson.
  13. They're supposed to be at a chippy in Auchterarder. Maybe both! Bobby Mann style fitness regime. They're due a treat though.
  14. Smith never does. Many Rangers managers, fans and players are self-righteous tawts. Traynor obviously plays to his listenership. I have no problem with Hayes having a go as he has been scoring these attempts recently.
  15. Duncan seemed to go down fairly easily, but a foul was committed. Not quite as ludicrous as Kirk Broadfoots aerial spectacle, but a bit disappointing none the less. A little bit of me dies when I see teammates congratulating the penalty gainer. Hayes finish was great, he did a similar thing in the previous match, iirc. He could give Rooney lessons in beating the keeper. Fab win though. I am just a bit worried tha we are attracting too much attention and will get a) decimated at the winter window, and b) start getting our players marked for a clobbering. Till then though, up up and away!
  16. Oh no! The same night as Armstrong and Miller! We've had tickets for this for about a year!
  17. Paul Cherry should be in, as should Ian Stewart, and Brian Thompson, less obviously. If Calder didn't fancy the whole 90, then I am sure Nicky Naehands would like to get his white jersey muddy.
  18. He's actually from Dunfermline which is 26 miles closer to Gretna than Inverness. I also have a lot of time for him. He was with us when it counted and scored some vital goals but he still left an SPL team for the bright lights and excitement of the third division. His only reason was money. Yeah, Alex, but you can bet he wouldn't have had to stay there; most of the squad would have had a local training session and that most of his matches would have been in the central belt. It was a shame to see him go, as he could have done a lot for us, but they have their careers to think of.
  19. I have already green dotted him, but I want to add again my agreement to what Doofer's Dad said about Foran. He showed a bad lapse of judgement in shouting at Shinnie - a young professional who is on a steep learning curve and needs positive strokes not mindless haranguing. Let's hope that kind of aimless bullying does not become a feature of Foran's leadership style.
  20. Agreed, Russell should be one of the first on the team sheet. When he plays we play. As the above poster has pointed out, Russell's game has improved enormously since Terry n June arrived, I have no idea how or why this has been brought about, but, whilst his passion has never been in doubt, his passing has been, at times, dodgy. He now makes many less mistakes, and even shoots and scores with greater frequency. It is not as if he is a young lad,
  21. They can have the board games, we will have the football.
