Falkirk match thread
Well Caff is more than an able replacement in the the short term. Assuming Dods leave then defence is an area that CC will HAVE to look to strengthen.

Falkirk match thread
It's the fact that most of his bookings are for for such trivial thinngs....kicking the ball away, backchat, etc that's so annoying. Thing is, he's been excellent for the last month as well. There's other players who need a kick up the arse. I've said it all season, Rosscoe has been absolute gash, yet week after week he's on the pitch. Just because he's a 'legend' shouldn't give him automatic selection. McBain....contributes very little. Rankin....3 great goals, but very little else to show for our £65k. It was so inevitable this would happen today :007:

Falkirk match thread
Back to the usual pish, what a load of utter bollox :008: :008: :008: How can we play so well against Rangers and then serve up complete dross against the so called 'lesser' teams? Thank feck I didn't waste any money going down to see that *****.

Post here if you love Sebo...
A quote from FollowFollow... 'The home support were chanting Sebo's name more often than we were - shows how uterly shyte he was He is fast becoming the new Jason Lee' SEBO SEBO SEBO!!!!!!

Who picks MOTM?
And do they just pick a name out of a hat?? It always seems such a random choice and very rarely do I agree with it. I presume it's the match sponsers? Dennis WAS very good tonight, as was everyone, but both Bayne and Hastings(my POY so far) were immense.

The Lows and Highs
Saturday was one of the worst performances I can remember from us, tonight was one of the best. Absolutely feckin brilliant. With better finishing we could've put 3 or 4 past them. I'm still grinning like a mentalist :001: :001: :001: Now, feckin perform like that on Saturday and Monday boys!!

Whinging
Ermmm....how does me disagreeing with you constitute me moaning??? :017: Maybe those at yesterdays game should've come out with 'another point gained, another clean sheet, some decent football by us, and the boys gave their all but didn't quite get the breaks. More of the same on Weds please. We've come a long way in such a short space of time' instead? As I said earlier, this is a discussion forum. However, those critical of the team are readily subjected to a flaming everytime they dare type anything different to the opinions of the 'glass half full' brigade. Me? I'll sit in the middle, I'll criticise when it's justified, likewise I'll praise when it's deserved. Anyway, I'm away to get pished. Have a good one all.... :001:

Whinging
What's the point in having a discussion board where anyone who criticises the team gets a slagging? I'm certainly not one of the 'get rid of CC' brigade, but if some people have those opinions then so what? I find the counter argument of 'we should be grateful, look have far we've come, we're just a wee team punching above our weight etc etc' equally absurd. We are now in our third SPL season. We're an established SPL team. We have earned the right to play all the top teams in Scotland. If we play pish then I'll say we played pish. If we play well, then I'll be full of praise. Unfortunately, IMO, we've been treated to some absolute dross this season. I don't see the point in covering over that fact with the argument of 'oh well, lets just be grateful we're here'. The simple fact is that some people don't expect us to win every match, far from it, but some of us would at least like to see us lose playing some decent football. I've no doubt the players go out every week with the intention of giving it their all, but all too often this season it's just been mindnumbingly boring to watch. If the team continue putting in performances like yesterdays(against by far the worst team in this league), then how else are people supposed to react?
-
Hmm
Rankin was dire Harry. If you'd seen the quality of corner he put in you'd agree. Apart from two free kicks against the worst keeper in the SPL, I've yet to see anything that remotely justifies the fee we paid for him.
-
Hmm
That was feckin awful :007: Both teams wouldn't have looked out of place in Div2 after that. The only highlight of the day were the numerous punch ups in the second half. Rory is NOT an SPL player, in fact, he'd struggle in the lower leagues. Rankin was pish again. For £65k you'd think he could at least put a decent corner in. Dennis was awful, despite getting virtually no decent service. McBain can't expect to carry on at this level if he can only use one foot. Plus points? Blackie was excellent, bit of an overreaction to being hooked but I had every sympathy for him. Hastings...excellent again. Other than that..... :008: :008: :008:

Major doubt over Dargo
North Tonight reported that Dargo is a major doubt tomorrow after picking up a knock in training. Bugger :007: :007: :007:

Dargo Suspended?
After saturdays booking, does this mean the wee man faces a suspension now? If so, what games will he miss?

That's Better!!
Some of the best football I've seen from us this season in the first half. Unfortunately, it was all undone by some shocking defending. Their first goal was playground stuff...near post flick on, Brown nowhere, goal. The second.....I've been saying it for ages, Tokely is struggling badly IMO. How many goals recently have come down the right hand side, normally when Tokely is to slow to get back?? Caff gave away the third...he misjudged the header, then couldn't get back with Nish quick enough. Other than that, he did well I though......at least he can bloody pass the ball out of defence!! What happened to Hastings? I didn't notice any injury in the first half :017: Blackie had his best game in ages, and consequently the midfield looked much better. Dargo/Wyness...both played well, some of the link up play was excellent. Does Dennis look a bit shot shy at the moment though? There were a few times he could've blasted it but seemed to want an extra touch all the time. Much better overall, losing in that manner doesn't feel as bad. It was certainly better than the pish displayed at Tannadice last week.

Mark Brown and penalties
More to the point, when was the last time he even got close to saving one? He always seems to go the wrong way :007: I thought Mark was poor today. He seemed to be all at sea for the first, the second went straight through his legs, I couldn't really see the third, and as soon as they got a penalty......well, game over.

Daily Record Article on Dargo
And even if he is lacking in confidence he's still class. Some of his lay offs, passes, and his first touch are way above anyone else in the team. It'll be a sad day when we lose such a talented player as Dargo.

The Officials Today
I'm not normally one to comment on a refs performance. Bad decisions probably even themselves out over the season. BUT THAT REF, AND HIS OFFICIALS, TODAY WERE THE WORST I'VE SEEN FOR A LOOOOOOONG TIME :008: :008: :008: They were truly shocking. Yellows were produced automatically for anything that closely resembled physical contact. And how come we were flagged offside approximately 2000 times while they seemed to time their runs perfectly EVERYTIME???

Team for Saturday
Wasn't Hart played on the wing there last year in the 4-2 game? If I remember he had an absolute blinder of a game that day.
-
Team for Saturday
Ok, we all know where our problems lie, and CC's saying he's thinking of a major shake up, so...... Brown Tokely Caff Munro Hastings Sutherland Hart Black/McBain Wilson Wyness Dargo If young Zander is as good a prospect as people are saying then give him a shot. I don't go along with this too young/inexperienced rubbish. Other teams throw the youngsters in if they're good enough. I'd like to see McBain back in the middle where I think he's best deployed.....not sure that Blackie has done enough to justify his continued selection. And Richie deserves a start.

Dargo Airs his Views
Neither has Bayne, yet that article says that Bayne hasn't been subbed once this season. Much as I like Graham for his 100% effort, he's half the player Dargo is.

Dargo Airs his Views
As pointed out, others have expressed their displeasure at being left out of the team etc so I don't see anything wrong with Dargo expressing his opinion. I fail to see why CC continually takes him off though. If we're chasing a goal in the last minutes of a match the one player I'd put money on getting us that goal would be Dargo....but he's never on the fecking pitch at that time!!

Dargo Airs his Views
My thoughts exactly.

Dargo Airs his Views
From todays P&J Craig Dargo fears he will be made a scapegoat for Caley Thistle's barren run in front of goal after it extended to 372 minutes at the weekend. The Highland side has not scored since Graham Bayne's diving header during the 1-1 draw against Aberdeen at Caledonian Stadium on November 6. Four matches have passed since then, with three of them, including Saturday's 1-0 loss to Motherwell, ending in defeat. The 0-0 home draw with Hearts nine days ago has provided Charlie Christie's team with its only point since the stalemate with the Dons a month ago. The run of more than six hours without a goal is the longest Inverness have suffered since they made their SPL debut in August 2004. Dargo, who is the club's leading-scorer with five goals, is wary of being cast as the man responsible for their dip in form. Motherwell won in Inverness with an 89th-minute penalty, converted by Richie Foran, after Darren Dods brought down Scott McDonald in the area and was sent off for the foul. Dargo said: "I am not saying it is the team's fault for not giving me enough service because last season they did well and I felt I did well because of it. But in the last couple of weeks, I have not been getting many chances to score and you can't get goals if you don't get the ball into the penalty area. "If the forwards don't get any chances, there isn't much they can do and maybe that is why I am getting taken off more than others. I am not saying I am being made a scapegoat and I certainly don't want to be. "I would hope people are wise enough not to point the finger, because it is not just one individual's fault. It wouldn't be right, for example, to say it was Darren's fault we lost this game because he gave away the penalty. Football is a team game and we are all responsible." Of the 17 matches he has played this season, Dargo has been substituted in 12. Graham Bayne has finished the 14 games he has started. It clearly irks the former Kilmarnock player, particularly as half the league goals Caley have scored have come in the final 15 minutes of matches. Dargo added 'it always seems to be me who comes off first, but I don't know why as I'm not the only one not scoring. I am still the clubs leading goalscorer but when we are looking for a goal I am being taken off and I'm not happy about it' 'I have not spoken to the manager about it yet, but it does seem as though it is my number which comes up on the board all the time' I do feel sorry for the wee man. He is head and shoulders above any of our other attacking options, yet as I pointed out in a previous thread, he's the one who's constantly getting hooked. I thought Saturday was the low point....allowing him just 15 minutes of the second half??? No wonder he's fecked off....

Are certain Players guaranteed their positions?
Not sure I agree with the McBain comments. I thought he was one of our few decent players yesterday and has been pretty consistent all season. He's a very skillful player who I think, doesn't always have the confidence to show this. The trouble with Roy is he's so one footed he often tends to turn inside, rather than take someone on. But he does do a huge amount of work. As said, he's far more suited to the centre than he is being stuck out on the wing. Duncan....I like Russell, and appreciate he does all the dirty work, for which he seldom gets praised. The problem is his passing. The numbers of games I've been to this season where any neutral would've thought his first name was 'fuxake' Duncan are plentiful. A player at this standard should at the very least be able to pass more than 20yds to a team mate.

Rossco over the top
I thought it was an atrocious tackle and would've had no complaints if he'd been sent off.

Are certain Players guaranteed their positions?
Black has been awful this season. Tokely....two decent games then. Not many in the season to date. Dods wasn't the worst today, granted, but as I said I'm basing this on the season so far. In saying that, his tackle that gave them the penalty was totally avoidable and should never have been made.
