  1. *IHE....Oh you are awful---but I like you! ! After youse gaes tae bed and taks aff yer wig tae sleep.. Jock and Scarlet, what a couple. One toothless and the other brainless. But loyalty trumps all. So I'm off tae chase the wifies and maybe have a ball. Whilst Jockie likes a pub crawl and I'm not upset at all. …
  2. There you go, Snorbens.! Looks like a busy shop, anyways. Ask an interested question and get an interesting answer. You can ask me any question you like about Canada and I will endeavour to answer in the vein in which it is asked. None of this though.##$$&&***##
  3. On a more positive note, I'm glad to see a modicum of praise not only for the boys mentioned but Tremarco especially. He's been with us now a while. Is he not the most senior of our players and a really steadying influence? Reliability is vital to success and his record speaks for itself doesn't it ? If I remember rightly he sure played his part in the 2015 Scottish cup tie which we won handily did we not? Smile! Wonder if he will play a big part in this year's Cup Final …….!?
  4. Good point. Satan. The boardroom I went into with the former Chairman a few years ago when I was last over would, then, maybe be too small? Unless you wrapped it round the corners at the end of the long walls? That would work would it not---with frame hinges of course.? Over and out to the younger, more nimble, minds of the ICTOnline set!
  5. Er….? Who is David Dowling? Is he the gent who invented the things that go into holes in woodwork to keep them steady and sure? If not, we might be howling....and /or.....growling? O.K. Maybe just frame it and hang it like a picture inside the club on the wall of the Boardroom...…….or..?
  6. Do you actually think that the club will offer a penny for the framing etc. when the budget is so fragile.? I doubt it. Have it assessed by a truly professional shop with an expert who really knows what he is talking about and get a quote. Then bargain !!!!!! This really is a priceless item that will resonate for years if handled carefully. Good luck , anyway and cheers from a frigid Western Canada. Scarlet
  7. Oops! The same thoughts occurred to me--unless it is completely watertight there is no point in going to all the effort and expense. That size would sure be a bit costly . Phew! However, my offer stands if it is to be KEPT, AND-OR, displayed inside and being inside will , hopefully, last for years and years. Outside it will crumble probably so why bother?
  8. That's 3 videos that I have not been able to watch with the explanation: "not available in your area" Presumably meaning Canada. Never been accosted by these types of prohibitory challenges before . Can anyone say why? I thought I was on a local thread and therefore not prohibited from seeing what you all see in Scotland? Sigh.
  9. Caley D What would it cost to have it framed, with glass added ,to preserve it for the future with an intent to hand it over to the club. It does appear to be a largish item but please contact me by email or phone to discuss the cost of full and proper framing as above and I will be happy to make a significant contribution to your kitty for this purpose. Scarlet
  10. Very encouraging reports and comments on here today. A berth in the fInal does not in any way seem unattainable now! This team has coalesced fantastically this season as time slipped by and frankly that game against County was a turning point for me. Looking forward to the next few games I must say. And John Robertson's human antics after the match had me splitting my sides. Good on you JR.
  11. A good point or two there, Kingsmills.
  12. Hi Jock, Why don't you thrill us all out here and come over for a wee holiday to the West Coast of Canada? Then on the way back you could call in to say "Hi " to Scotty--he's only 3,000 miles away? It's a long way , me old fella, but a warm welcome would make quite a difference I am sure. Me? I still speak with a semi Inverness accent but years of travelling round the world , i.e RAF National Service abroad, holidays and now the North American continent, kind of blurs the words a wee bittie. Right now we have an empty suite on the lower level of our home so you could choose which bedroom to use. Both look out on the back garden and I am sure we could find a mattress for you + hot and cold running water and pretty maids all in a row……..my goodness, thinking on it maybe you might want to stay permanently?
  13. That's right.! The time to give thoughtful and fair consideration to what terms should be in the contract is before, not after. If it's a real contract then the contractee has as much right as the contractor to demand and expect that the club keep their side of the bargain. Otherwise they have the possibility always looming over them that the club can and may take advantage of them whilst they, in turn , are out of a job. If OFW is fit to play then why does the club not give him a game or two to rest our current ,fantastic goalie and keep OFW in trim and practice.
  14. Write to the Scottish Leader and the boffins running the European Show and advise them that the Whisky manufactures in Scotland have universally agreed to stop exporting their brew to Europe if the economy turns dastardly in Scotland. Maybe that will wake them up to the reality of this whole incredible stushie. Whisky is selling very well in North America and after a minor adjustment in favour of the manufacturers -- money -- things should reach an even keel methinks. Otherwise I have no answer-j--- just open-mouthed with awe how the Politicians can bring about such a debacular situation.? Sure glad that Chas. Bannerman is back to offer up his explanation and antidote to the negativity. Welcome back Charlie m'lad! However just keep it short and snappy 'cos I think everybody needs a very good sleep.....along with ,maybe, a wee snifter .
  15. Oh Satan, you have sussed out my Achilles heel. Avoids your having to answer the posts eh? Grrrrr!
  16. Wynthank--funny you should say that because I also think I smell a rat here.....?
  17. Not at this time of year I fear. Freezing cold etc. Hopefully that might be in the past if...….. you are willing to try Summer Football and see the difference.:- Increased attendances, comfortable fans, more enjoyable footie, players more ready to run and play hard etc. the list is, frankly, lengthy.
  18. Satan I didn't say treat him like a weak little lamb but beating the stuff out of a player who makes a mistake is hardly likely to bring him on either is it. Frank discussions followed by, perhaps, more supervised training may also work to benefit him and the club. Working on his mistakes but not in a way that makes the young guy feel like a failure is another road to take. Every young person needs guidance and encouragement. Me? I got belted too many times at school for inattention and fidgeting. But when I left school and had to stand on my own feet so to speak , and study hard or die so to speak, I was off to the races.
  19. Well, Jagster, I think you got your wish tonight in spades did you not ? By the by, did you know that you look awfully like the newbie Rookie from Sweden named Elias Pettersson that the Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team have just signed up. He is setting the National Hockey league on fire with incredible skating, great moves, cracking shots AND goals. And he is only 20 years old.
  20. Aye, lads we really , really do! And that would really make up for a lot of somewhat disappointing forays this year , eh? On a positive note though , how interesting and encouraging is the fact that we now have a very responsive gentleman fan offering to answer our questions to the Board directly as far as he can achieve that. So often in the past have fans apparently been disappointed by the response to their queries that this is deffo a move forward and into the limelight. So, keep on posting sheepslagger. Boy! You are a breath of fresh air,. I am sure IHE will now have a retort in agreement, like.!
  21. Re the wee girl why not ask the steward what he was thinking about? Seems to be somewhat hasty in his judgement and a polite reminder would probably have gone a longer way. Also remind him gently that the club subsists on punters like these two good fans.....! As for the questions of sacking anybody ,does anyone think that either the Manager or the High Heid Yins feel great about the limited progress being made this year? Of course they probably don't. Sacking JR is a thoughtless attitude. That's like the crew of the sailing ship "Pretty Polly" doesn't like the way the ship is turning in the wind and is screaming at the mate ''Let's chuck the Captain overboard"", make for yonder island and we can rebuild the boat from the weak and young palm trees, if (i.e when) it smashes up on the shore." I think we should continue to shout encouragement to JR and the lads and then shout again. No other way of salvaging this season, which frankly has not been THAT bad if you look at the table. NOt great, like, but not HORRIBLE either.
