The Big Scottish Independence Debate
Scarlet Pimple replied to Laurence's topic in Serious Discussion
That remark about Charlie Bannerman's posts being drivel is too much for me. That's not called for and is close to abuse. He has been on this site for years and years longer than you and his thousands of posts compared to yours speaks for itself. In comparison yours are miniscule. Whether you dislike his posts or not is irrelevant. Here's the thing--his heart lies just as much with Caley Thistle as mine or yours. And he has contributed greatly to the history of ICT by writing a couple of books which is VERY hard and dedicated work indeed. Take it easy ...eh? Credit where credit is due. Sorry we had to beat you guys at Curling in the recent Olympics for the gold but them's the breaks. I must admit that our guys seem superhuman and didn't seem to put a foot wrong, both women and men, in the curling anyway. What a fantastic visual feast wasn't it? Some great sportsmanship too . Cheers -
IHE-- who were you referring to , Bughtmaster, Scarlet or , now , maybe Charles... All worthy recipients of the praise.

Bughtmaster Best and most insightful post you have made yet since exploding onto this site like a starburst from heaven.....

As I recall Neksor of you go back over the posts I think there is a reference to this very thing. Personally speaking, I am not sure what sweating alone could do to ham the pitch IF the drainage is good. If the side drains can cope and proper drain pipes are installed under the turf why would there be a huge problem? Here in Maple Ridge, B.C., we moved into a new house some 9 years ago and had a very heavy clay soil. Drainage was a problem indeed since the back yard sloped downwards a bit towards the house. So I had to dig a few trenches a foot deep --which was like breaking up rock and nearly killed me in the process-- filled them up a couple of inches with stone chips then laid 5-6 inch water pipes over the top of the bed of chips with holes drilled through the bottoms, then filled-in again over these pipes with stone chips followed by soil on top and led it all into the perimeter drains along the side of the house. The latte discharged the water flow out to the street drains I think. Anyway, it worked a treat and we did not have any more new young trees die when their soil holes flooded all the time after we planted them. So, where is the problem? Hmmmm.

I'll miss this one I think. My Canada Goose transport is very iffy 'cos he's down with a bad dose of the 'flu. It takes time and energy to recover from this and the older fella will just not make it in time I don't think. But me heart will be there ....

Wow--Fantastic news?

Well it's going to be a very nice pay day for our club. Fully Deserved!

I take it we have won. Phew! Wonderful. Yogi will be relieved. Looks as if he will be on the crest of the wave at the end of the season. Eat yer heart out, T B.

Thanks Kingsmills. Excellent. Can only do your best after all. I can see the deluges of rain you are experiencing in poor old Blighty. I have a buddy who lives in the S W of England and he is very close to the Thames flood. Cor blimey! What a mess?

Will this be available for we, overseas viewers an, if co, in what format.? Straight video link--click and view or will it be complicated so that near Octogenarians will have hard time following all the technicalities --without help from TMJ or IHE?
-
Er--don't they think putting out covers, like in cricket and other big football matches, is an option. It would be a saviour would it not?
-
Why do you need a button? --Just ignore it...
-
Absolutely disgraceful, patronising and distasteful. By attempting to ignore us they also seek to diminish the courage, skill and hard work our club has gone through and initiated to get where we are. As if stuffing us back in the Highland League bottle will actually bring it about and make us fade away. What archaic idiots. Their thinking is Neanderthal, petty and a vain attempt to belittle us . They want to show their disbelief at our successes, and their fear of this feisty club that they dare not give credit to in case we continue to humble and humiliate the much larger clubs against which we play with our dangerous,never-say-die attitude on the park and in the boardroom. Angry in Canada.

Perf by name and perf post by inclination !

Why would they be scared to shoot? If they don't shoot they don't score but if they try there is always a good chance of the ball going in......? How did Richie do? As I said once before , against Stranraer the team had better be peppering their goal and going for it from the start. Strannie have absolutely nothing to lose if THEY go for it and everything to gain from the opposite. If both teams "go for it" it should be a great game, which is what the fans want but also the better team (ICT) should win..
-
Far too many shots cracked TOO HIGH according to the text rolling updates. What a waste of a chance. I have criticised this before but obviously this ball control and head-down approach needs emphasizing. More training needed?
-
Donview--I knew that. But it just slipped my mind... Er--who is Jose Mourinho anyway--is he in the footie business? Not a John Hughes clone by any chance? Banging the head happened to me out in the field a lot when I was working, before retiring. Wearing a cap will do that to you--the brim obscures the overhangs, metal stanchions sticking out, etc. That's why construction guys wear hard hats I guess. It's also the bosses of the Universe trying to knock some sense into you as well.. In my case they are still trying. Problem is I just forget what they are telling me on a day-to-day basis.

Again may I ask what the r in front of UK stands for. rUK? Eh what? If it means are you ready U K?. Now that would make sense. As for Marcus Carnage, I suggest you-all heed that man because he has a very clever financial mind. The problem he has is that he is always right....but not pompous with it. -

What with the Straneraer game being a virtual freebie and, hopefully, thus with a big crowd, and the final and the Scottish cup looming up. ICT are going to do quite well financially. All we need now is a TV contract......sigh! Wouldn't that be nice for the club? Fantastic.
