  1. Good morning all from Vancouver area, Canada Got up this morning to listen to Open All Mics .ooked out the windeo and noticed that it had snowed in the night. Not surprised--Arctic outflow is upon us , colder than ......? Scartlet Game is off to a flying start woe!
  2. Caley 1 Hibs 0 Foran !!!!
  3. Row S--you do seem a tad heated over the characters of the Leith conglomeration. It's a nice place, I stayed there for 6 years. begorrah. Pray tell--what about them has bothered you so much? Have you fallen foul of the Leith Police perhaps? In the mold of "The Leith Police Dismisseth Us." As for Adams do I get a whiff of "I have my little eye on the manager's job when Calderwood resigns and meanwhile I will give him the benefit of my vast repertoire of knowledge" Dunno! I am just an investigative Pimple in the spy game and there is no smoke without fire.
  4. Act in haste, repent at leisure. McCann may get better and better as he goes on, It's only fair to allow a player to settle in and get really comfortable with the other players and the system. Some on here say he is not fast enough; but I saw him on the highligts move really fast off his mark to intervene in the nick of time to stop the opposing player scoring almost on the Caley Thistle line. It was a very timely intervention. He wasn't sleeping, that's for sure. Give him some more time lads.
  5. Caley since a wee boy. Then never came back to Inverness to stay after National Service in the RAF so then it was on to East Fife. Then the Hibs when I was transferred to Edinburgh with the work. At that time watching the Hibs for 6 years was fun. Stood high up on the terracing and was willing to endure the wind and squalls of rain just to see the likes of Willie Turnbull and Pat Stanton stroll through their accomplished games. Then transferred to Blantyre and I do remember watching an Old FIrm derby once but that was the only game I saw in that area at that time. After emigrating to Canada there was nothing but the local Vancouver Whitecaps to watch. Then back to Caley Thistle when one day I idly looked up "Caledonian F.C." in the I.E search box and, lo and behold, got the shock of my life to see what had happened to the team in recent years. Followed this up by contacting the Mantis, who seemed a likely lad from whom to ask questionsand whose comments sparked a much greater interest in the team and the rest is history.
  6. OOOHH! Didn't they do well. If we can beat the Rangers and Celtic again maybe we will win the league?
  7. My Computer crashed at 0-1. And when I got it back up Caley were 3-1 up. Crikey Crivvens. But the typing is slow to record on the paper--I believe this is an I.E.8 problem. What's new...eh?
  8. Rankin? I can't help wondering if he flattered to deceive a bit at ICT. Or is it that, what with Hibs not having played well for a good spell, Rankin went off the boil, Still I think he aPPEARS TO HAVE BEEN COMPETENT DURING HIBS BAD SPELL THIS YEAR SO ..WHO KNOWS.. MAYBE HE WILL SHINE AGAIN. Darned capitals agai--the curse of the Canadians. If John Rankin came back here to Inverness it would be like he has failed in his move upward and I cannot see that happening at all. I think he will get better as the team does.
  9. Scotty and Pull My Finger--got your messages. Thanks. What is the final score? --I was sidetracked at home and lost the place.
  10. Can't get the Sportsound commentary. Can't get the MFR one either. Can anyone at least tell a Canadian Pimple what the score is? I nearly had a breakdown when I could not find this thread half an hour ago. IT felt like I was naked or something--you know-- missing something but couldn't put my finger on it. Now I can't find the smilies.....AAArgh! but wee smile.
  11. EH???????????? Please don't be a smart ass, lad? Do what most of us do G.,just spend a few moments checking your post before clicking the post button. If you could see my typing before it goes off you would shudder. But then, unlike you (I assume)I only have one good reading eye these days and what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
  12. IT was a semi-wind up folks. Not speculation or rumour or ICT or any other category. Some folks talk common sense on here; others seem to be in La La Land. And Georgeois I wish you would at least spell check your posts which would help us to understand them. Bafflegab does not work I am afraid. But good manners does wonders for morale.
  13. Jonny--well, he IS Irish and is showing his stuff. So is Celtic Interested and is a big move on the cards? They would not put him into the first team, of course, but they MIGHT bring him in to bring him on. Stranger things have happened --AND, it would be one less very dangerous forward with whom their team has to contend at the next mneeting with Inverness Caley Thistle. NOT the Caley Thistle that got hanmmered the last time around but one now growing stronger by the minute. The result against Rangers will not have escaped their attention we are sure.
  14. Mantis I heard that they had moved to another park named New Bayview and today I also heard that some influential people are thinking of bulding a brand new stadium with all sorts of facilities in Methil. I can't help wondering what businesses would be successful in Methil? It was guy dour in the past. Would it be a smallish strip mall like they have in Canada or would it be a big and brash stadium with all the accoutrements. I am sure if Scotty sent an email to John Robertson he would tell us what was going on there. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Anyway, some of the best end -to -end games I ever saw were held there and so I at least have some fond memories. In case anyone is interested, I was in my early twenties at that time. My second child was born in that house that I described --at about 4 o'clock in the morning. I remember vividly racing along Bowling Green Street in my pyjamas and dressing gown (oops, sorry, my robe)to get the midwife who lived at the other end of the street and breathlessly blurting out to a very sleepy-eyed wifey ..." Mrs So and So, can you come now she's having the baby."
  15. Inverness Caley Thistle have got something running this year. At the end Caley could have won it. Hayes was selfish near the end and should have passed to his waiting teammates. Hayes was ripping the left back of Rangers to shreds--it looked almost too easy. Rangers with all their fancy passing wwere being ripped by Hayes. Twice , however, I thought that he should have simply passed into the box instead of trying to do it all on his own by taking the last shot.Terryu--any comment? The other thing that I noticed on the video towards the end of the match was that the Caley Thistle players were holding off from the Rangers players. In other words they were not closely marking these players and, had they done so, I am sure Rangers would not have looked so dominant and Rangers' slick passing would have been reduced -significantly. Looking forward to the match reports from those whowere at the match.
  16. Brilliant finish for Caley Thistle. You are right, it is on the live footie and it is Perfect to Peep" if you understand. Back to thr live video!!!!!!!!!!!.WOW!!!! Sacrlet
  17. I my younger days I watched many a good game at Methil . Bayview park is possibly not the most salubrious setting in Scotland and it was coal that kept the town alive. But , if he works hard, there is no reason why he cannot make a success of it there. The only fear that I have is that there may not be the funds available for him to do a bit of buying of players but we certainly all wish him well and it would be wonderful to see this once high and mighty club (once they were the top team in Scotland and were in great demand for exhibition matches; so much so that playing too many games in England exhausted the players and that started the decline of the illustrious Fifers)climb back up the ranks of fine clubs in Scotland. Very best of luck Mr Robertson. If you come to a place where you are thinking about buying a wee house in Methil try Bowling Green Street because there are some nice stone-built bungalows on that street but maybe it has all been bulldozed now. I lived in the very end house at the East end of that street and it was our first house.
  18. Keep 'em coming IHE. Nice compassionate note at the end also
  19. If any poster wants to target someone else let him/her come out in the open and put his/her thoughts in a post on the thread. Then there is no suspicion of this being underhand. I very occasionally post a dot, predominantly green ones(by far), but I can't honestly see the merit in having this type of value system which has no requirement to justify itself openly. Mahonio has a point and a half and maybe it's time to review the worth of keeping the red/green dot addition to this site. My vote?--terminate it.
  20. If the original poster (Dougal) is suggesting that the name be changed to placate the girners from the past then just forget it. Inverness Caledonian Thistle sounds great and it will be shortened anyway by almost everybody so what's the fuss? For those who have such a negative and unproductive attitude towards the present team and club and the present name, they do not deserve any consideration. Either they get with the programme or they can lag behind it in the wilderness of Scottish Football. And if they are still harbouring grudges and whatever from the merger period then what hope of them ever wising up enough to put their shoulder behind the Caley Thistle wheel? Probably it will be negligible so why waste time worrying about what they think. We should look for a practical solution first e.g. reduce the prices by five pounds a ticket and ensure that the product on the park is of a continually high standard and encourage the team to attack first and formost. Customers want entertainment and thrills and spills not negative, defensive football. ICT have the players now to attack so we should encourage their drive, enthusiasm, energy and flair. Adopting Craig Levein's tactic of putting up the fortress walls will never succeed in attracting anyone. It's an open and shut case almost. Why pay good money to be bored? At least it is worth a try is it not?
  21. Agree with Caley Mad in Berks and Scotty. It's past time to be positive and to wish him well.!!
  22. Yogi-straight as a die. Good luck, you honest man you.
  23. Yes Scotty _ I think I may have to get the VPN myself. Missed the first half due to no sound from the BBC. Good win it seems. Importantly the team was solid andgot a well- earned victory. Over 6,000 fans at the game. Great crowd really That will help the coffers and th support will give the team a lift.
  24. Scotty Cannot play the links you mention because I am informed that the "media cannot play in your territory"--i.e overseas. Usual crap! But whee!!! the Open All Mics is back ondespite the fact that, yes, it has been "choppy" sound. However it has settled down and is fine now.
