  1. Rory and Wood compared toBrew? Well that'a thought indeed IHE.
  2. Some of the remarks here have set me thinking. Maybe the unpopularity of Mr Brewster's move back was very unsettling, and possibly unnerving, for him as well as some ICT fans. This may have made him more tense than otherwise and in point of fact has made it so difficult for him to overcome that he has never really relaxed enough to be able to function well as a full blooded Manager, as opposed to his being a player, that he has just had too high a mountain to climb. Time will tell if he has the ability to overcome all of this, inspire the players to produce all that they are capable of, and be successful over a longer term.
  3. Well the least 6that i can say is that is NOt a pice of duff gen Or is that now such an archaic expression that only those and such as those -- e.g. Jock Watt, CMIB and Charlse Bannerman because he knows a lot of things at an early age.... LOL
  4. I agree completely with Caley D's summing up of Richie Hart. A grafter and a half!
  5. So Caley D---what manager would you like to see in place who could arrange things to suit your view of things if Brewster was released? I am genuinely interested--this is not a trick question. Tricky perhaps , but not intended to faze you.
  6. Does anyone know if this game will be broadcast to Overseas listeners?
  7. So some of you would like Steve Paterson to come back--abandon defence in favour of playing pacy, racy beautiful football....de'il tak the hindmost like." Sounds attractive to me? But....ohhhh...if that resulted in better entertainment and a more satisfied crowd at the end of the game, win or lose, what would the feeling be if that also resulted in ICT being relegated? Scotty The mini-Pimples in our house are asking for a poll on the subject: Question "Do you want abandoned footy or dull, defensiver footy". Post now and seal the deal. After the poll Brw is aff the hook...like.

Do you know thevillage of Blacktoft on the river Ouse. East of Hull. My Aunt and Uncle used to live there. Nice enough wee pub on the jetty there.Do you know of it?
  9. Whether Hibs confidence flagged or not the thing I am most happy about is that it gave ICT a boost in confidence and self-belief.I was a bit concerned at the end when they scored though. Nervous like . Smile. That can, and will, be carried over to the next match I hope. And every journey (upwards) starts with one step. C'mon Caley Thistle.
  10. Then the club should consider hiring a float plane--(are there any left in the highlands these days)-to land in Skye and then straight on to the waters right outside the stadium,. I have had a float plane journey once with some other hikers-we flew over a moun tain top and then landed on a mountain lake. Had a ball in a hut overnight and hiked down to the water in the morning. Anyway, if the club even showed willing to offer a reasonable fare in conjunction with the float plane (formerly known as sea-planes ) Sea Otters mostly, plus a bus into town and back they could even maybe develop a jetty outside the club door. What a P.R. coup that would be. Then think, they could develop an exchange programme to Norway for visiting fans -- Great P/R. for all concerned and helps the finances of the town from the incoming tourist dollars. Oh Sorry --that's jusy so stupid a thought I suppose. Too enterprising by far , Hmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

And that is your duff gen . --- this post is for old National Service gits who might know what I am talking about.
  12. Dead Ball Specialist--I agree with you about Inverness City--on the way up What's the matter with me today, I'm very agree-able. But the truth is that there will always be the memory of Caledonian F.C. to tide me over a blue day--IF it EVER were to happen AND IT WILL NOT!
  13. I did meet him and said hullo Mr Brewster and as he shook my hand he replied....."Call me Craig". Can't say I have anything against the man--he is deadly serious about ICT's success. What I would dearly love to hear, however, is what the constant naysayers about "Craig" will have to say if ICT moves close to the top of the table. Will it be music to our ears?
  14. Oh IHE I needed that. We are friends anew then? Why not change your signature to the S. P? Cause I love you...
  15. Anyway, TMFTJ is trying to convey that positivity trumps negativity as I see it in a situation where the Manager is unlikely to be sacked in the short term. He is saying that meantime we should stop looking for reasons to cut him to ribbons at every opportunity ---especially going back to the distant past when he is supposed to have been disloyal because he wanted to move to another club. We all know the circumstances but he did try to ensure that ICT got a decent price for him and that has to be taken into account when the scales are weighed out.And he does have the right to better himself if he wants to even if the going was not perfect. Also how far back do you want to go to find negativity and hold tenaciously to grudges about the past ?. Can't we live in the present and not the past? If we go back a hundred years what good can it do ? And does it hold any relevance to the present situation--it should not? He should be judged on what he is doing now not the past. So some of the posters on here bear a grudge against Brewster and cannot appear to bring themselves to see anything good in the man probably for ever as far as can be seen .But he is here and if you want the club to prosper as you say you do why not try to stop the bickering, the name calling the moaning and making some other posters just fed-up with listening to it all , on and on and on----and on. So in this I support Manfer and want a change of heart and attitude please.
  16. Hibs ..0 ICT 2 Caley counter attacking brilliantly. Scored by a very composed Black
  17. sounds like Caley are up for it. Better soirit and determination all round aCCORDING TO jOHN rOBERTSON. Robbo enjoying the game........''good tempo to it"
  18. Iain It's not always a case of greed which motivates a player to move to a larger club. Just plain ambition really . The money offered usually offsets the risk he takes that he may fail.. In other words, who wouldn't turn down a top class offer from a big reputable firm? I think it is also your duty to take the chance of improving yourself when the situation arises. Especially if you think you need the challenge to grow and feel that you can do a good job. Good for him I say.The reason I came to Canada was that I had a hard time convincing my much older boss that I was as good if not better than him.....and I haven't r4eghretted it. Ha! S.P.
  19. Absent Friend--precisely, just what I have been saying for years ; use the wingers, get to the byeline, maybe get a corner as a consolation prize but hopefully cut a hard low ball right across the goal and anything can happen. A defender mis-kicking in panic, a forward rushing in or a simple deflection off anybody? How else, as someone says, can you break down four stalwart large defenders and get in close enough to goal without being offside? Wingers are the boys.
  20. So it's not about winning or losing or getting points is it? It's really all about the existence or the absence of heart on the day....
  21. What I am worried about is that the Board will react in a degree of panic due to the recent losses and make a costly mistake by hiring the wrong player(s) which will not do their budget the world of good. What do you think about Dargo returning? I am not a big fan of going back but ..well... are there positive points about re-approaching him? Say for a return until the end of the season--in this case he would have something to play for, a new contract at season's end, and maybe his confidence would return? And Dodds? Strengthening the defence is now IMHO critical to further losses . especially narrow losses. Was Didds also playing hard just for the possibility of a transfer? Why has he not been prominent in the D.U team to date? Why would he not fit in again for the same reasons as Dargo that I suggest above.? Comments?
  22. Maybe Jim Traynor does not want them to talk about their own teams too often. There is too much money to be made on the radio by talking about Celtic or Rangers. And he needs a job--- that talks about monied teams.
  23. He makes good points and any team or person can have a ghastly run of luck where nothing seems to go right and when you are down that is when you get your next kick in the pants , etc. However, if the team scores more goals than the other team then they win. "reasons " for not winning are acceptable in the short term but not in the long term because by then a definite trend becomes established. C'mon the Caley Thistle.
  24. It's called a parchute payment because it usually comes with a ticket to Arnhem.....
  25. Bad habits Yngwie--can you explain?
