  1. If the Pimple's memory serves him right through the haze of senior moments and Alzheimer's onset, Andrew Cave-Brown was last seen by S.P. in Vancouver with the under 19's. And if he is the guy I remember he is a real grafter and a good player right enough. Should suit the Brewmaster O.K. :011:
  2. Usually a warning is issued first so that well-intentioned teams who have made a mistake or overlooked something can rectify it without being asked to visit the scaffold on the way. What appears to be immediate dismissal smacks of arrogance and perhaps a hidden agenda since it does not either seem fair or logical. Shoot!!!!!!!!!!!!! :008:
  3. Invest in eager taleneted youth -- sounds good to me.
  4. I remember that gate Charles. From my diminutive standpoint it seemed rather high. But, mostly because I was with someone at each game, I decided to support the club instead of ripping them off. :012: :023: I think adults were one and six pence and it was either 2 and 6 or 3 bob to get in the stand. I used to mostly stand on the right side opposite the stand with the trees and Telford Street at my back . How the club ever packed in 5,000 fans for a full house I will never know. Cheers. Fond memories though. :016:
  5. Ans 6 pence to get into the Caley Park at Telford Street. :021:
  6. MANFER is actually talking common sense without the sting in the tail these days.. must be mellowing in his old age...... :002: What you said about.... once Brewster gets a hold of him in training etc .....is exactly what I think and why I think we should all just get behind him right now. Why...mercy,----he may turn out to be the answer to a maiden's prayer and, no, I am not referring to Manfer. He is not overly religious so.. :001:
  7. There may well be more to that last remark than meets the eye. My first reaction was ''what? To replace Hastings? Surely not? Playing for ICT may "rejuvenate" his career and he may like Dodds, as someone said, turn out to be a good signing. In any event now is the time to get behind him, encourage him and leave it to Brew to instill in him a desire to get stuck in and succeed. Maybe Hastings will be asked to play a more central role --or maybe this new man may also be tried out in this role in the pre-season friendlies. Whatever he does, wish him well.
  8. Caley D If you go to the thread "Log-in on the Home Page" you will see Scotty's explanation that there may be a glitch due to a time issue between U.K. time and Canadian time. He also said that it would not be addressed/sorted until the new software is in place. With me it might also be the fact that I delete all temp files regularly via the methods I described in that thread. So I am going to try a process of elimination using these temp. filed deletion methods since I am not completeley sure that eliminating the " browser temporary file delete every time the browser is shut down " feature is positively the root of the problem. Thanks for your offer of further help at this time. Scarl :022:et.
  9. I found the Browser item to which you referred. It is in Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options , Advanced--- and could be missed if you blink. It is described as the function that deletes temporary files (not cookies) when the Browser is shut-down. I de-ticked it and then shut down the computer, restarted it and in the first try successfully automatically logged-in without having to insert user the name and password. I will keep you posted in due course as to the success rate. However, if that was the browser setting that stopped my automatic log-in I can't help wondering why on occasion it didn't work because occasionally, intermittently,I would log in and get in automatically with no requirement to insert user name/password? Will keep you posted. S.P.
  10. Caley D I certainly clear my temporary files out very frequently. However, I have always done that for a very long time in the past and for long periods of time last season I had no problem. It was only at the end of the season that I started to experience this problem. At that time I posted a question about it on here and Scotty replied that it possibly was something to do with your end but it was not worth spending the time on it for last season's finale because the intention was to revise the whole system prior to the opening of season 2008/2009. I accepted that without question. So, whilst respecting your comments and understanding what you are saying, I am now confused. I did write a brief note to Scotty a few weeks ago but did not receive a reply and so I thought that raising the issue again in this forum would be O.K. Since you are very busy at the moment I am willing to forget it until the season opens and your changes are then fully in place. Otherwise I am willing to initiate any specific instructions or advice you have to offer in the meantime. Best regards :022:
  11. Troublegum--I think of a lot of things but methinks you are a good thinker....clever man.
  12. Yes, go down to the beach where you might pick up a load of amber. Riga is famous for it--that's the stuff that oozed out of trees millions of years ago and solidified round trapped insects preserving them for posterity in all their pristine living beauty. Looks very good on the mantelshelf portraying you as a world traveller and a collector of ..... Bring back one of these dolls in folk dress with a little red circular band ( similar to an arab's headress ) round her head holding a shawl round her shoulders and flaxen pigtails adorning same.. Your girlfriend will love it. Riga is an old city with a vivid history. :004: Better watch out for the inhabitants of the Riperbahn---er...or is that in Hamburg....? :001:
  13. Heh Charles You are the man. But re "my daughter....." either you are showinbg your age or, as I say, you are the man to keep punting the game. :016:
  14. Scotty Are you about ready to sort the problem with the Log-In feature which invariably still tells me I am a guest only. I have tried recording my user name and password repeatedly but have not yet been able to successfully establish an automatic log-in. Can you please help a retired Senior .....? :029:
  15. The Highland Theme park-Is that not the new tourist attraction at the Culloden Memorial ? :002:
  16. Riordan also did not do well in Russia , as I recall from the notes kept at the Hall. Wanted to come home it seems--homesick to a fault. Unpredictable behaviour also turned peoples' confidence in him into a condition of nervous -nellyism, wondering if he would show up at show time. Did this not affect his International career with the team boss out looking for him once ( metaphorically-speaking) when he went a.w.o.l. prior to the squad's getting together. Brew would not go for that kind of behaviour so Riordan will never grace the teamsheet at ICT. :003:
  17. Charles Inverness City:- I looked at their web site a month or so back and found it interesting. They could be be an upwardly-mobile entity. :022:
  18. Angela I am a Medium and IHE is a Seer so are there tops big enough to get over our heads? :002:
  19. But Caley D --it was shorter than yours. :001: And I never said Brew was perfect. :021:
  20. My father once told me he saw it . :011:
  21. If ICT can get a minimum of half a million they should accept it. If Marius stays and ICT do not have the money to get a good striker to pair with him where will we be? But with the money we may b :rolleyes02:e able to get two good strikers and maybe a good centrehalf thus strengthening these weak areas. And where would we ever again get a player of Marius' value? :023:
  22. Dumpmaster I can just see you rolling yer eyes and wiping the snot frae yer nose after that one. you are a funny one the noo... :015: :015: :015:
  23. The season has not yet even got to the preseason and I am already tired and exasperated by some of the negativity on here. :008: What can running down Brewster do for ICT now at this stage? Precisely nothing positive. Since we know he will be here for another seson is it not just common sense to support him? For those who answer "no" I suggest that you should consider finding another team to support--one who thrives on your negativity and girning which is like a dead weight around the necks of most of the rest of us, dragging us back and frustrating us to death. You post and are constantly running this Manager down but rarely suggest a detailed plan of action to replace him if he was fired. Pshaw! :020: And do you posters who feel Brewster should not be allowed to go on that course are you suggesting:- 1. That he should be the odd man out in the SPL and in lower leagues by not attending?. Like it's fine for John Hughes to be on it, mingling with a lot of other guys, listening, contributing and learning but Brewster must stay at home like the shrinking violet at the dance? 2.Do you think it will enhance his stature and influence with the players by staying at home whilst all the other men are on the course? That's it's good to single him out and make him feel like a pariah or somebody so different that he should not be expected to be there with the others. ? 3. As for paying his way how does anyone know that he did NOT contribute to the expenses.?Who cares? And if they are lucky enoughj to get to the matches do you think that he is not learning anything from watching the top pros in the game at International level? That is you would much rather he concentrate on making calls to clubs whose main men are already there also looking at the "once every four years"event. 4. This makes me also feel that you think that Brewster has never made a single phone call all Spring since last Season finished? Is that correct? If so, you really should give him the respect that he is entitled to get and rather assume that he has worked hard to further the interests of ICT and his own interests, which go hand-in-glove with those of ICT, and has completed many calls before he went. As I said earlier there will be new faces at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium this coming season . However, on the Barrowman issue, I agree that this player should have been given one deadline and when it passed then he should have been toast. I would imagine that John Hughes , for example, would have stuck to his guns on this matter and after that the player would have had to come to him. He is,after all, only a 2nd/1st Division performer and is completely untried in the SPL. It looks like he is as indecisive as some allege Mr Brewster is for running after him? :029:
