  1. If Burchill joins County maybe it would not be long before ICT were looking at him? :016: Why do so many posters on here quote other posters comments in blue boxes which only results in a lot of space being taken up that few other posters actually read in total again? What a time-wasting bore. :023: Frankly speaking I scroll past them poste -haste and maybe, if some posters could have their way, post-humously? :015:
  2. This thread is now waning fast and punters are dropping off like flies. IHE are you sure that what caley D says in the main is not correct? Are your posts so constantly on this one theme that they must now be classed as simply O.T.T. ? And Caley D must love you very much indeed to be stilll posting such long upbraidings and lectures. As in the Black and White movies when the hero has been on a long rant and rave about the heroine's behaviour and she responds by cooing " Oooh, Dahling, you really love me very much don't you or you would not be paying me so much attention.......? :002: I mean why does Caley D spend so much time on this if he thinks you are ..soooooo... out of line--eh? All he has to do is simply ignore you. The reason why he continues on here is , like Scarlet, he knows in his heart that if you disappear half the threads would go with you..Hoch! Hoch! And the most controversial threads of all to boot. So what's left...Shall Charlie Christie come back to support Craig Brewster ? Give me a break. Does Mr Jekyll still sleep with Mr Hyde? :crazy07: Sorry --the Niculae thing is all tuckered out..at least until next season. He, Niculae, is not to blame for anything but ,even if he left, the problems at Caley Thistle will take a while to resolve themselves and the one big question I have is ...who will replace him...especially if Dennis is truly past it and may not be offered a contract that he can accept and amidst all this can we last another season in the SPL? OMG! : :bomb:
  3. Re : "Catalyst-S.P.?" Nothing personal just a general reference to the way in which other peoples thoughts or actions may persuade us or influence us into saying or doing something which other people may find unacceptable or offensive . :004:
  4. Thinks--if ICT approached Romanov of Hearts and asked to be their feeder team maybe we could get in some Latvian Players? :004:
  5. Good posts from Alex and Bush. :022: I don't agree with the opinion that Niculae has brought a chaotic season to ICT. That is completely ridiculous. In life only you are responsible for your actions, no one else. The other person(s) may be a catalyst to your actions but are not responsible for them or the thinking that preceded them. What has he ever siad in public that was offensive or critical of ICT ? What about the Boardroom squabbles? Are they not the product of the brains and thoughts of those on the Board? Yes. Did he order the Board to do this and that? No. Did he vote on Board proposals? NO! The truth is that he is being used as a scapegoat for the confusion of others at ICT and that is not his fault . What about the poor play and feckless play of many of the current squad in several games? Did Marius Niculae push their feet to make poor passes etc? No. Does he rush over to help them to blooter many balls over the bar? No.! As I said in another thread what has he got to be ashamed of? Nothing much in my opinion. In fact maybe his arrival instead simply highlighted the weaknesses and fumbling actions of a less than fully structured and developed team in the process of growing up in the SPL who simply over-reached themselves by hiring him. It seems to me that now both parties are stuck with each other and eventually through the current evolutionary and painful process of adaptation they will work it out ; which is something over which they do not appear to have any choice. And I completely agree with the poster who said that the Board should keep their mouth shut in public and show some common sense; otherwise Marius will lose because no "good " team will have him (thus either no, or a poor, transfer fee) and ICT will lose big because no team can function positively amidst stupidity and chaos and dissention. As Sutherland recently said "We can't afford Niculae "meaning money wise. But maybe this team at it's present stage can't afford Marius in other ways because the other players may not be up to his ability level. I think that the fans need to expect professional players to learn how to stop blootering the ball over the bar before thrusting all the responsibility of winning all the games onto higher talent and him in particular. :cry04:
  6. Manfer--"up-to-date"? About what? As fer IHE , you are right , he can joust with the best of them...come to think of it though, it is strange that he does not come to my rescue against your unkind words from time to time sent in my direction. You can have an unprovoked sharp tongue in you on occasion. Oh well, it takes all kinds...... :023: With IHE this is too one -sided so I will have to reflect on that. :029:
  7. WEyness is God--excellent post--sums it all up perfectly. IHE --good wind up. Hope you are enjoying your wee drinkie and pipe with your quavering belly with that look of utter glee on your face? :003: Mercenary? Yer all having a laff--in thi9s day and age it seems that we are all mercenaries of a sort. :012: Hmmmm-why did the "post" buton not send the reply when I pressed it the last time? Hung up for at least 5 minutes and never sent the message at all. Glitch hollow?
  8. Not being broadcast overseas so I found my way to the Hearts site. You can get online video live it seems but at a huge cost for one game. It would be fine if you were a Hearts supporter and purchased this service at the beginning of the season but this late in the day it is not worth it I think. So I tried their live audio but it was blocked too (no surprise there--I suppose you must also purchase that earlier too). Finally I find a blow by blow account on texting being updated by the two minutes on their web site.It reveals an end to end game conveying the impression that there are corners galore at both ends, play is frantic and not one sided as one punter o here says. So texting is the most boring dry way of following a game and apparently it doesn't convey the true run of the game. Oh my ,when will Caley Thistle get their act together and give us some form of match day communication here in the Overseas Department? The Hearts website is absolutely stuffed with match day options, English games online, SPL games online, previews, post-match/pre-match commentaries and videos --very busy site indeed but all available if you are willing to join up and pay. That's fair. Anyway back to our dearly beloved last ditch "Matchday Thread"--always a comforting pick-me-up in the early hours of a bright sunny day in Vancouver with the wind as snell as it was in February and the snow back on the Mountain Peaks that I am looking at from my top floor office to the North. Gonna be a briiiiiight, bright sunny day- as the song warbles , but i can't remember the singer. I know you are just about to tell me ;good. Cheers from the West Coast of Canada where we have just experienced the coldest Winter on record. :cdn: Spying is the name of the game :sherlock:
  9. I feel sorry for Marius in all this. He is simply a professional entertainer doing his best to earn the highest wages he can , put his retirement nest egg on the front burner and look after his own financial interests. He does not appear to be arrogant, is doing better all the time and gets along nicely. What on earth has he to be ashamed of? No different to any other employee. The way he is being referred-to in these statemenmts or alleged statements is sad to say the least and he does not deserve this. What kind of incentive is this for him to go on the park in these last few games and put out? Frankly the whole current charade is disgraceful. The people involved must really be feeling the heat from many quarters to be making such public statements about one single player that should be spoken only in private--like "we can't afford his wages now for next season"--so that's it then, one public statement and his pounds value to the club has gone down immeasureably .When other clubs see this they are going to whet their lips with glee. "Top player goes to so and so club for a song. Manager Sam of so and so F.C. expresses delight at his capture" etc. If I were him I would be thoroughly disenchanted and , although reluctant to go, just decide to get out as soon as possible seeing as he is being treated as a ping pong ball with indifference. Unprofessional all! That's the way I see it. Situation is clear as crystal. Orion plonks money down for shares; capital thus invested is filtered into general revenue and used to top up Marius' wages. Smug officials say nothing allowing gullible fan base to think that Orion is paying Marius directly. The truth comes out when the inside power struggle threatens to disintegrate the club's structure. Folks- I am nervous about this. Is the future of this wonderful club assured in any way or , assuming that this all ends badly, where will Caley Thistle end up? Sutherland quotes 500,000 as a potential needed support figure. Is the club now also 250,000 overdrawn at the bank then? :008:
  10. S.P. is lurking....... :003:
  11. Once knew a fellow in County Mayo, Ireland ,who declared that a guy named Cunney founded the well known airline Cunney Lingus. Apparently the word Cunney meant "fly-by-night". The Board however later hastily decided to change the name to Aer Lingus when the alleged number of participants in the "Mile High Club" apparently rocketed right from the first take-off . There is no verification to date by Bill Clington that Cunney was his pseudonym. :crazy07:
  12. Eh? I'll send Roscoe 23 over to see you IHE--you have all the answers :022: Roscoe 23 --why are you having a go at Redee?--she is only 15 or 16 fer heaven's sake. That's what we need on here , youngsters who don't swear, can at least show a semblance of grammar and intelligence and are generally positive and upbeat. Keep up the good work Redee and always be ready to say to me............... "redee aye redee, captain". Will bring a smile to Scarlet's face.Aye.
  13. I alwyas liked Dingwall. Congrats Ross County and good luck next season too.
  14. You have nailed it--Marius' wage depends on the exchange rate then. Redee--if you are referring to Mr Savage is he not a wee bittie old fer ye then? :015:
  15. Jeez IHE I was only kidding. O.T.T was never a consideration. :015: But o.k,then, you have proved your point.. I think CMIB is like me -he needs to retire soon to his hacienda in the sun.Scarlet has passed through all the stages you cite. Road rage has now been supplanted by acting coolly--trading my Chrysler Sebring for a tank!! :002: Gawd I've forgotten what I was trying to say--is that what they call a senior moment IHE? Can I get a senior's discount for a personal consultation? If so can I get the brief, expurgated, version of the head tripping advice instead of the monolithic monotone Montypythonesque monologue? :finger01: :021:
  16. With the Viking Clan Gunn having more branches than you can shake a stick at, Northern Jaggie, I fear that your first task would be to determine which lineage to follow. From my past lives I recall that this name is significant for the fact that somewhere in the past it featured a big Norwegian chief having come down from the Orkneys to spread his wings into Northern Scotland to escape the fights with all his relatives for land. So let us know how you get on then? :crazy07: Fascinating stuff though. What is your surname N.J.
  17. Although Caley D never says he agrees with Scarlet on anything it must be said that since I am older, wiser and more generous than the average poster on here I wish to inform you that Caley D makes sense with his references to lack of dignity and particularly his telling comment that if players are to be judged on only a few recent games then Brewster himself must also be judged by the same yardstick. But this certainly smacks of end-of season stuff and frankly I also think that currently we are scraping the bottom of the barrel for any scraps of real information that can dissipate the groaning ennui of recent events. Do you not agree Caley D? :002: Go on, luv, gladden an old m m m m mmman's heart. Damned alzheimers.! :029:
  18. I once went to Bury on the Northern outskirts of Manchester as I recall/? Geez, I wonder what happened to her? :016:
  19. I got up at 7am to listen to the commentary. Could find nothing.Media Player nor Real player. Obviously the BBC are not broadcasting Overseas but since they are very erratic they forgot to tell us by adding the words "not available to overseas listeners" which appears today under every other SPL game link being allegedly broadcast on the BBC but this one. Oh my . Where is the Club broadcast sytsem for overseas fellas when you need it? Next serason...yes! :018:
  20. Sure IHE, let's just bring it back. It was unique. :003:
  21. Caley Mad in Berks--enjoyed your passionate post but why are you always so intense and ....well..... angry? At your age it's the blood pressure thing that you need to watch don't you know? :002: When you get to my age, luv, it's like water off a duck's back and frankly, it's the only thing that keeps me sane in this jolly old world , coping with the jolly japes and jocular juxtapositrions and.... :003: Look at Johnboy whose ironic posts invariably contain that almost indescernible hint of indifferent go-with-the-flow , laissez-faire , devil-may-care, sometimes insightful posts often with a rather absorbing but always slightly amusing tone to them. And all designed to set off IHE which is meat and tatties fer us all. I think? :crazy06: :blah01:
  22. It must be the bridge over troubled waters, then, as in Simon and Garfunkle, like? :001: And that picture of Billy Connelly brings back memories of when I lived in Blantyre and I met and became friendly with Andy Daisley, the empresario . Andy took me to a smoke -filled dingy little bar in the heart of Glasgow and here was Billy cracking wise and cracking dirty jokes by the second on a wee stage a foot off the floor. I did find him very amusing in a bizarre Pimpillish, energetic, kind of way. Little did I know he would end up in Hollywood and little did I know that my next adventure with Andy would be to drive Stefan Grapelli , complete with violin to an up-country gig somewhere in the heart of Lanarkshire. This was followed by another exciting gig where Andy arranged for a film of a long-lost match between Real Madrid and Inter Milan to be located and projected in a church on Blantyre High Street, a feature which we promoted vigorously with leaflets all over the town. The object being to raise funds for the wee boys football team that I was assisting in running in the Dalcraig housing estate where we stayed. Oh well, we expected maybe to sell tickets to 20 boys, maybe 25, but on the night over 100 boys from all over showed up at the door and we had a complete riot .Every goal was cheered to the rafters and I must admit I enjoyed the gig as much as anyone could. If anyone from that area knew of, or knows of, Andy at all please contact me because I often wondered what happened to him? I suppose he has passed on now but, old chap, if you are looking down on me at this moment then welcome, I thought you were the best, and a truly great guy. Cheers Andy and remember the Lindy Hop? :021:
  23. And a partridge in a pear tree? :023:
