I hope one of our members domiciled in Inverness can answer my question about the cost of houses, in Dores and elsewhere, etc. as asked above. Failing which I may well be prostate with grief and filled with grief if my prostrate gets any more swollen than it already is. Thank goodness I can swallow one Arthrotec pill once or twice per day to put a damper on the production of prostaglandins , an action which cuts down the inflammation and makes the pain disappear. Still don't know what I am talking about-?-No problem, just wait until you enter the beginning of your dotage, laddies, you are ALL going to get an enlarged and inflamed prostate which is another way of saying, according to my Doctor who proclaims that ALL men after age 70 develop this form of slow-growing cancer, your number is on it just like my father before me. Hoping to hear from you, much obliged.

A hearty thank you to Manfer and his elfin helpers who set up the HIGHLIGHTS reel on the ICT video channel . When Daddy P told me it was on the ICT channel I fell over a chair to get to the computer. Now I've got bruised shins, a bruised ego but a great day out in sunny Dingwall under my belt. And more to follow for the future Highlights on the Reports as promised by that man of all seasons, tm4tj . What more could an ex-pat want? What a lovely day, a lovely crowd turn-out and a heartening victory over a somewhat bemused County team. SSSH! but truth to tell they didn't seem to have a clue how to cope in that second half. Now, if only we had been able to play like that against the Hibees, well.....that's another story for another day eh?- 107 replies

Can someone please post an url for these highlights on the forum? Just asking nicely....."Brother, can you spare a dime?" or "Will you please help a lame dog over a style ?" If not I will have to go to Scarlet and watch him blubber like a small, discarded child and that's a sight you never want to see or listen to. He's just such a baby. Kindest regards from a doting father . Daddy Pimpernell

Some good posts today. From a lot of folks. Aging IHE put in a "steady the ship," restrained (for him) and thoughtful post and Always Blue responded with an equally restrained and non-belligerent, careful, "feeling the waters" smart reply. Goodness Gracious, our posters might turn out to be alright and that's only after one great game too. Amazing how the footie gets under your skin and keeps you on the path of righteousness...eh? Jeez! I'm just feeling so warm and fuzzy all of a sudden that I might just let Charlie Bannerman give me a hug when he next sees me in the flesh, 'cos I still can't quite understand all of his high-fallutin wordies, I'm afraid. Chas ,do you eat Oxford English Dictionaries for supper perchance? The last time I said something similar to my wife's son's wife's father (he's a teacher too) and told him to come down to earth a bit he didn't cuddle me at all and now won't speak to me either. But I know Charles is of sterner stuff and I can get away with it--can't I Charlie?- 107 replies

Investors from the economically depleting Chinese mainland, desperate to get their money out before it is worthless, are now throwing money at the Vancouver Real Estate market to buy Canadian houses here. The net result of that is that house prices have escalated like you could never believe. My next door neighbour has just sold the identical house she has to mine for $711,000 when the Assessed Value from the Provincial Assessors put the value at $580,000.. A Realtor (Real Estate Agent ) told me bluntly that all sellers now are advised to just list at $150,000 over the Assessed values of their home, leaving me almost speechless. If this madness were to continue then within 2-3 years max., I could be selling my 3,200 square foot, 4-year-old house on a 5,000 square foot lot for $1,000,000. Truthfully ,stranger things have happened. A friend of mine who formerly lived here in the Lower mainland did very well out of home sales and has retired to the SW of England with his Chinese wife who has, incidentally, told me that she will buy my house if I want to sell it to her for a present for her spoilt daughter who is still living in Vancouver city. Stone the crows., Jennie must have a wealthy father because I don't think that she has done a day' work in her life. Nice lady but ...? Oh well, Paully Wally is happy with her so all the power to their elbows..eh? The thing is ...is it worth considering coming back to Britain? Pounds are so expensive to buy in Canadian dollars now , due to the downward spiral of the dollar re the oil crisis here in the province of Alberta and around the world? How have house prices reacted in Scotland over the past 10 years? Are those new homes out Dores way expensive and what size are they ..please advise? Thanks guys and gals, back to the grindstone. Are you going to stay in the EU--looks like it.?.

DD your references to Donald the Trumpeter need embellishing. Hillary make squeak in but the omens are not good for the Establishment elites (who are hated by the average tax payer in America) since the Donald is not only still on the move but increasing his power base at every step. He's the attraction for the support of the "great unwashed" because he speaks the language of the average disenfranchised, bitter and very angry average resident of America many of whom were wiped out financially by the power brokers of Wall Street when the Ponzie Scheme crash erupted like an atom bomb in Wall Street. If you stopped the flow of illegal Mexicans coming into the U S and sent them all back home again, then the economic life of these southern communities would be in crisis since they are employed to run these businesses. It's not all about Mexicans and Muslims etc. - they will come in come-what-may, whether it be by means of ladders to go over the new Berlinesque wall or through the existing tunnels under the ground from Mexico. It's mostly about the simmering (now exploding) anger and resentment of the proletariat against the "Establishment"--the upper echelons of power who merely change camels at every election but still remain wealthy, privileged, well-connected and powerful and suck up, not to mention spend and dissipate, the country's wealth to suit their own purposes without regard (despite the hand-on-heart protestations of the likes of Hillary and some others) for the powerless peasants, the latter having no say in how the country's wealth is mis-spent at all. The Donald, shrewdly, bluntly enunciates what they feel and thus garners support at every turn. He's the current champion on a white horse -the escape valve for their inner rage. The huge financial crises of a few years ago, in which the U.S. Federal Government handed out literally TRILLIONS of dollars of the country's wealth to the City (Wall street bankers), to prevent them all from going bankrupt from the falling apart of their bank's PONZIE schemes, saved their fortunes but left the Real Estate market in the U. S. in desperate ruin, bankruptcies and defaulting financial crises everywhere. The rational from the Administration was that "Well, the city was too big to fail." Or to out it bluntly, same old, same old. Then the Feds turned round and put a person in charge of the Government finances who was directly responsible for aiding and abetting the whole rotten business not to mention many other lesser lights who also aided and abetted the schemes that bankrupted many ordinary folks, leaving their homes worthless. You can now buy lovely property in the U.S. with very large plots of land for much less than you would pay in the likes of Vancouver or Toronto (Canada). Meantime, back at the ranch, the public still does not have a Government sponsored Medical Plan for all and hospitals charge so much money that if you fall sick your life's savings can be wiped out in a few months. The surgeon who did the 6 hour operation (in Canada) on my son's heart to save his life told me personally several years ago that if that operation had been done in the U.S. it would have cost the patient $500,000. So , good luck you-all with your challenges, power and politics. This is just another little bit of back talk from the Workers Compensation Board. At least, here in La La Land, we do have a stuttering Medical plan that will at least stop us from going bankrupt in a dire emergency but I just spent $1900 on medical supplies /prescriptions during 2015 and relied on Jolly Justin Trudeau's new Liberal Government to use that figure to offset my annual tax bill.....and be thankful for small mercies.

This season has been a circumstance of team dislocation, discombobulation, disappointment, deflation, doldrums and denials. All we can hope for is that we can at least avoid relegation and a win at County would be a great lifter of the spirit. I think that losing all these better players at the beginning of the season just caused tremendous disruption within the team, physically and psychologically and it threw JH for a loop. Imagine his feelings after he had achieved so much....?. \ I'm a bit deflated I must admit but at least Richie has recovered from that awful injury and next season he will be back, one way or the other, in full force and in fine fettle. Maybe big J was right when he opined that last season we had was the season we will not have again but ,...time will tell.

Rig is RIGHT! Right Rig? Most past Managers have stumbled badly one way or another. It's human frailty that all of us have suffered from at one time or another, I guess. Scarlet excluded of course. Why, I even see David Moyes , who stumbled after going to Manchester United , is now in the frame to take over ....wait for it.....Celtic , or some other high profile Scottish team. I read that this morning on the SPL site. Perchance is it D for David and D for Diddums. After all, there must be several teams that would love to have him in Englandterre ---at a reduced salary? J H has had rotten luck with the loss of many valuable players AND constant and debilitating injuries restricting his choice of players and the flow of, and the positioning of, the team. What a challenge he has had this season. As I opined in another thread, to consider letting him go now is both astonishing and mindless. It would worsen the final placing of the team, depress morale and create a shambolic situation with very unpredictable results. Of course, winning another Scottish Cup would immediately turn the negative critics into happy clappers who would claim that they always knew that Big John would walk out a winner, etc. and all must therefore be forgiven. I wish life was as simple as that .....eh? Cmon the Caley Thistle.

What struck me when I viewed the highlights (a big thank you to Manfer for getting them set up ) was the number of balls that were booted way over the bar. Surely JH has noticed this flaw and has been working on it at training? If not, he must be mad since some of the efforts , frankly , were rather ridiculous and a complete waste of energy altogether. Even a wee lob into the goalmouth is far superior to a blooter a mile over the bar - every time. Of course, I appreciate that playing against a packed defence like that was a difficult task but even if every ball hit the bar and rebounded then that's another chance to for the boys to score. Also, it's easy to be critical when you are desperate to win but if you don't accent the positive then how are you going to motivate the team? Emotionally, it can't be easy for them to try as hard as they appear to have done and get beaten by one goal. Nervousness and tension must have played a part and it sucks confidence out of any player when relegation is even whispered let alone discussed openly. And talk of sacking John Hughes at this juncture is knee jerking at it's very worst. Bloody madness, no less. This is the worst time to even consider it. The team has already been greatly disrupted by the loss of players, injuries and newbies trying to find their feet so all that could result by taking such an unwise step would be to generate utter chaos and probably relegation. Get behind the team, I say, and let's stop dwelling on so much irritating negativity--please.

IHE , did you find any evidence of manic depression during your assessment of T B?

Canadian News flashes on the T V over here state that a poll shows that good proportion of Scots now prefer to stay with Europe rather than in the U K? Correct?

Somebody said somewhere.."Bring back Butcher" ..... Unfair and counter productive. No chance anyway and , after the way in which he left for Hibs, if he did ever grace the seats at this stadium half the remaining fans would quit.

US Naval Ship named H.M.S TULLOCH. This is a radio conversationof a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland. Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision. Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15degrees to the north to avoid a collision. Canadians: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision. Americans: This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course. Canadians: No, I say again, you divert YOUR course. Americans: This is the Aircraft Carrier US LINCOLN, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic Fleet. Canadians: And this is a lighthouse!

Lost many of our excellent players early on, seemingly constant injuries, our captain out and possibly will be lucky to ever return permanently now and chopping working out for us. So, to blame J H entirely is not an accurate assessment of where to place blame. Because we can easily forget that the money available in the kitty is not overflowing the edges of the barrows that some folks easily forget are not there. How can we hire great players at a time when the season is coming to an end - they are all committed to their present clubs at this time and may be on big bonuses to win crucial games . I agree wholeheartedly with the posters who prefer attacking football rather then defensive football but with positions chopping and changing is there much room for manoeuvre to completely commit to the former ? Fear of relegation and so on will also be putting both the Manager and the team under pressure which creates tension, the bugbear of the ability to play flowing and/or attractive football . My fear is that at this stage of the season it could be too late to be sure of fixing the situation and it's at times like this that I feel that we have to support the Manager and back the team to the hilt .
