  1. Would he not be overseas?
  2. Cup Final.
  3. NOTICE.
  4. Inverness may be the backwoods in some folks' eyes but it's also the team that occasionally puts itself on the map in a big way; and how! Caleyfragilistic etc.... O'fere should know that if he plays well here, again, that other teams of merit will
  5. Earthquake
  6. Not a problem CaleyBoy For you I will resort to my fuddy -duddy, boring self and then you concentrate on IHE for your fun. e.g There's a moose loose aboot the hoose and a there I see a Canada Goose.......... O.K, O.K I'll quit whilst I'm ahead.
  7. Charles--are you giving us Duff gen by any chance? And just maybe, IHE, you obtain your spirit-ual awareness out of a gillack of Johnny Haig.? Tell me me true, direct frae you, have you ever seen a ghost ?
  8. Perhaps the best outcome since there is doubt as to his ethics and connections, not to mention the mere fact that he was not even courteous enough to return our Manager's telephone calls. Courtesy costs nothing and I'm sure John Hughes was not impressed, especially in view of the attention our Manager paid to the assisting of his career in former years from which it is clear that he benefitted greatly. Not cool or, as we used to say in our younger years, not infra-dig old chap.....meaning a low blow or dig. I had to look it up in the old Oxford English dictionary though. Or, as an old girlfriend used to say to me when I asked her if we could go into her house .... " infra penny , infra a pound.." To which I replied with a puzzled look..."Eh what?" And she and responded with a wink .." Of course, a penny to get inra door and anything else is by negotiation when you pound onra door.
  9. Dead right on that, Mannie. ...summed it up beautifully. A real class act. I'm going to look it up tonight after my little sleep. Cheers S.P.
  10. In your collage, Manfer ,I detected a name unknown to me.----- The STRYPES. Young yes, but the talent of this youths' band is quite incredible. The Cologne (Koln) gig was a revelation of precision, control and sheer outright, blistering talent. They never put a foot wrong nor missed a note or a beat. The knock-out blow for me was when German interviewer asked them how they became so assured and professional-looking at their ages and they replied that they were 19 years old and had been involved with music from the year of their birth. I think they had wealthy parents as well in Ireland who gave them a classical musical exposure because of their assurance and delivery capabilities. They perhaps did not have the mystique and look of the Beatles but in playing talent they exceeded them perhaps . What happened to them , Mannie--do you know?
  11. Municipal?
  12. That's what happens when you enter advanced aging reclusiveness.. After writing the above about the earthquake, Bughtie, I sat down to watch a documentary which was all about the impending one here on the West Coast of Canada and the United States. The evidence is utterly convincing and after the scientists went to Japan from both our countries they returned more convinced than ever about the imminence of the "Big ONE". I was down talking to my East Indian insurance broker today and he says that he has already packed his emergency pack since he also is convinced of the certainly and imminence of the event. He was 8 years in the Canadian Rangers up North and knows his stuff and says his 3 guns will also be going with him wherever that is. So, to complete my day, he tagged another $600 Can. onto the insurance policy premium which I paid today and says the insurance company will not rebuild the houses but will just hand a cheque to us for what they have to pay us after our deductibles have been paid, the latter being a cool $60,000 for the house plus 10% of the cost of the contents . Their liability is already insured by Lloyds of London so, apparently, all the insurance gang pull together on this and the cost of the total damage will also be spread amongst all the premiums raised from clients in other provinces (together with other Provincial insurance companies I think as well) so this is going to be a big deal.
  13. Interesting...thank you ! Nice view, though, up the river.
  14. That looks like the Caley Ballroom......? Would that be right perchance?
  15. Yngwie--Take heart since it's never over until the fat lady sings. But Partick would be a hard match--in the past they have been our nemesis and no mistake. This year they have another good squad and a manager who also seems to be attack minded and dedicated to playing neat and aggressive soccer.(Oops , sorry--I meant football). They have a newly-arrived foreign player in the squad don't they who says he had options but PThistle because he liked the attitude of the manager .? Hibs Versus Hearts should be a bit of a corker. Imagine getting Hearts in the fInal--would be nice to ring the changes away from the old firm wouldn't it?
  16. Marriage
  17. You will be telling us next that he hails from Stoke-on-Trent? And wrote a novel under the pseudonym of Bran Stoker?
  18. Boasting will get you everywhere I guess?
  19. Yes. this thread does appear to getting longer--a case of some folks stoking the fire I suppose?
  20. Yogi must be frustrated. He's been havering on a bit on the latest clip about bringing Stokes to us from Parhhead. Maybe we DO need a bit of sting up front after all and competition for our ---er----strikers would surely be a good thing? How about Vigurs Stokes and Storey all in a row/ What a line-up.. Stokey sure sounds p....d off with his situation, which essentially seems to me to be a significant waste of talent. If he still has his playing ability under control perhaps he would be on fire if he came just to prove to Mr. R Deila that he was wrong. After all, won't Celtic be paying the wages freight for him? Sounds good to me since Deila seems deffo quite scunnered with his behaviour. Wouldn't you think that he should play the guy and serve him a challenge to perform. If he can get us up the table in spectacular fashion then bring him to Tulloch.
  21. Jaggies over Staggies I appreciate your input, I used a technician to install my stuff on a new computer running Windows 10. He has just installed Google Chrome "Search" separately and it may be difficult for me to access the settings you mention but I will have a go. The search box I see is associated as the search engine with I.E, but what version of IE he installed I can't tell. And I am necessarily confused. This windows 10 does take a lot of head -scratching to master but it came already installed in my new computer so, taking into account that we would have to switch over eventually anyway, then I just accepted it as a rite of passage. Meantime, many thanks for your input. S.P.
  22. Bughtmaster __ I just wait until I see the steam rising and then I bolt.
