  1. Och! There's a wicked, wickan witch around who has put a spell upon the game......
  2. Better to be safe than sorry.
  3. Well, one thing we can say about our larger than life Seer is that he rarely makes searing comments about others. And he only s-n-eers when he is sneezing and s-n-otty.
  4. So, Bughtie, we can only wait for the Mackenzies to inform us .... But, did you know that in the world of Spiritualism, a Seer is one who is simply a medium transmitting messages from that same world by meditating to elevate his or her vibrations to more closely match those higher spiritual frequencies emanating therefrom. Just like radio frequency waves.....no accurate tuning, then no messages or reception.
  5. Naelifts Imagine being called an old git! I wouldn't put up with that! I remember in 1979 when I was much younger and sitting at my desk in my wee business office in 1979. In walks my employee to pick up her keys for the offices she had to go to in order to clean them and we got talking. She says..." blah.... blah....I was telling my friend about my new boss, S/P , and she asked about your attitudes and I told my friend .."he's a bit of a character". Aghast, my immediate reply was..."Camille , I'm shocked, I hate being called a BIT of anything." Just remind these guys that you're not old till the fat lady sings and maturity comes to all of us in different guises.
  6. When the action is hotter than a firecracker, a jaded old geezer like me only wants unusual scenes and views and what you said, Phil38. I see enough plots on T V that I can only state were in the category of "same old, same old." and boredom is not what I went to this one for. Edge of the seat antics and blistering sound is a novelty for S.P. i.e Entertainment, dearie, not exciting plots and skulldggerey and betrayal. I get enough of that here on a daily basis. But I have to admit that watching the Vancouver Canucks come out of their shells last night on the expanded color screen T V last night in a blistering-paced ice hockey game in Vancouver against New York , which they won by one goal, was exciting enough to last me for another couple of days. Today the wife of a plumber came to my door with an Invoice of $262 (about 131 pounds I suppose) . He spent about 15 minutes here, changed a small plastic valve to one of brass on an input water line to a bathroom sink upstairs and chit chatted a wee bit and then left. That's my supermarket bill for food for two weeks for goodness sake. Haven't been to a movie for at least 3 years so it was g-r-e-a-t, laddie. Glad you enjoyed it you-all. For those who haven't, just trust an old Canadian eagle not to drop the fish that he's just snagged in the river as he flies off to his lair...aye. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Canadian+eagle+fishing+in+a+river&view=detailv2&&id=DAA2883212435DEA789CA6AF4546001C49CBF602&selectedIndex=104&ccid=uP9kfshl&simid=608008159786765975&thid=OIP.Mb8ff647ec865246d29c1b68d045070b8H0

  9. Wynthank 15 With these remarks you win again So I've given you a "Like" which is another gain. And making merry is a ruse just to keep me sane. As well as, of course, the jolly japes Which, in turn, remind me of my youth when I played Superman in capes. And got me into scrapes. Since Castlegar is up North In British Columbia, Canada, (up in the boonies,) your comment intrigues me, kind Sir . Was it you that coined the ditty, which I admit is rather pretty? :- " When I was in the Klondyke gold rush, there was a bar in Castlegar where I could water my horse and chug a jar. I wonder if it's still around, or gone like the blowing tumbleweed that doth abound in them thar parts. Dobbin, my hoss, is rather sleepy which for me is rather creepy' since we've only done 16 miles and now it's noon. Mind you, he's also 16 years old too so maybe he will fold real soon. Aw, Shucks! Festus, the bar-keep, is a-calling; what a guy, he's always bawling..... or on the floor, a-sprawling. Must be Dead eye Dick who's causing trouble, a feller who never shaves always has a lot of stubble....on his jut-out chin. Maybe that's why he's teamed up with Vladimir Putin who's rumoured to be pestering the Deed Pollers to change his name to Put-The-Boot -In. Gotta go, pards! I see old Festus needs my help and is giving me a knowing wink. That can only mean, I think, if I help him I gets a freebee drink.
  10. Young girls with broad ribbons in their hair--my sister used to wear these also as a very young girl .Brings back all kinds of memories, so it does. Plus fours on the men + trilby hats. I even saw a man wheeling two bicycles out of Castle street onto High Street in front of the Town Hall who looked awfully like my uncle Ned. The bike was his favourite mode of transport and the fleeting glimpse was uncanny ! Great film.
  11. State of the game currently in North America which includes the U.S. and Canada :- form, what role is played by owners, players' contracts etc.. devekloping interest and attendances, comparisbns with the English Premier league nad the Champio=nship, etc. Very interesting summary! http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35012676
  12. Old Fogies (as in Putterers)
  13. Hot try IHE! .............Smile. And Bughtie--oops I misread yer post and thought it said ye had a sore eye. Glad that all's well that ends well. Yeah! Yeah! I know , living with Scarlet must be h-ll.
  14. What I like about your approach, Bughtmaster, is the way in which you try to dwell on the positive about things and people rather the negative. That 's why you win friends and influence people. Personally speaking, I am now becoming a little tired of all the back and forth negativity surrounding this transfer situation. J. H. is staying and he knows as well as anyone else at the club, or the fans, that his future and that of the club will no doubt be strongly affected by his performance and continuing enthusiasm and commitment. This is nothing more then a blip in the road and surely we should all now settle down and get on with it. If necessary we have to put up with the occasional outburst/perceived faux-pas so long as we know deep down that it comes from his basic integrity and hopes for success. As mentioned above he is human and that's just his way of emoting. If we don't like it then what are we going to do --suck it up or fire him?..... Doh! If he had gone to United I think he would not have had his worries to seek and it could have deeply negatively affected his future career imho.
  15. 's Cigarettes
  16. None ever taken . Best thing that ever happened to old Scarlet baby. Got me out of my shell and' all!
  17. Eerily similar to the stands of seats where the toffs and Kings used to sit at the jousting tournaments of yore. Especially with the bravely fluttering flag aloft adding to the festive air..?
  18. Alex J, why, maybe he already is.....?
  19. Did you say.... fanny.... pressure IHE?
  20. Imagine that! If it wasn't for old dearie Mantis' influence, old Scarlet wouldn't even be on here . So he's the one to blame for everything..... And now he is making open-ended statements about the guy. Pshaw! You are awful, Mantis, ........ but I like you.......
  21. Lovely exterior picture of the Station Hotel. Looks like the power washers have been quite busy in the last little while. If the exterior is sandstone it would have come up beautiful after a skilled power washing. With aging, though, the sandstone might tend to disintegrate and so forth ...? Online reviews for this hotel are spotty though. I guess a lack of funds, together with an aging hotel, don't really go hand in hand do they? Is it probably still a bit too Victorian inside then? And maybe the room heating is still by hot water circulating through standing radiators under windows etc? If I remember correctly, in my young days it was regarded as THE pukka hotel in Inverness?
  22. You don't miss much do you, IBM?
  23. What's the position with Storey? Is he a free agent and can be signed on a contract. Now that would be a very good piece of busi ness if it can be arranged.
