The world cup!
Ach, Bughtmaster, all you are trying to do is wind-up old Scarlet. Is that a wind-ow into how you think? But you do say it with gust-ow, though, so keep up the good work.

The world cup!
When Laurence is going fast on his horse in Arabia it's "now you see him now you don't". "Gone with the Wind", like.

Birmingham Away
Lucky sods! Seems a progressive team and should be a good workout for the boys.

With a lost dressing room and a personality that clearly showed that he would also throw players under the bus if things did not improve in the short term he was cooked from the start. Empathy and diplomacy seems to have gone under that bus as well as far as his motivational efforts were concerned. It has also occurred to me that the Hibs players sussed him out even before he arrived at Easter Road. They knew the background to his arrival and the way it was , IMHO, engineered well in advance of his departure from ICT. If I am correct, they did not trust him from the start and contempt for the man after he sat in the stand with the Hibs management to watch the last Hibs V ICT game could have made them really cynical about this fella. Especially when he threatened their jobs.... that was probably the final straw for the players and the straw that broke Terry butcher's management back. The Hibs players did seem to work very hard to rescue the season but psychologically it's very probable that their heart was not in it under TB . And that MAY be one of the significant reasons why Leann dumped him before the new season started. As I said before, she is an intuitive person I think and realised that for the Hibees T B was a loser. J Hughes is a straight shooter compared to T Butcher and we are finally lucky that all has been revealed in the comparison between the two Managers.

The world cup!
Yngwie Post 87--the S P wasn't around as far back as that---sniff! ....... Australia game against Chile was the most uplifting and stimulating. And I was surprised at how good the Aussies were. And unlucky at times. Chile , I believe, are ranked 3rd in the world and their ball control, passing and pace were eye-opening. Brazil game was mostly boring as anything and if they win this tournament SP will be amazed. Mind you, the pressure on them and the screaming crowds must be difficult to handle but they will settle down. The Netherlands game---oh my! Well, every dog has it's day and with Italy having had a great run over the years it's, hopefully time to ring the changes and give the other lot(s) a chance since variety is the spice of life. Yesterday for me was something of a sporting bonanza with the games of the World cup and, in the evening, the 5th game of the Ice Hockey Stanley Cup Final underway in Los Angeles --the L.A. Kings versus the new York Rangers. It Took two ivertime periods in a marathon 3 hour battle for the Kings to finally score the winn8ing goals and bedlam is still reiygning in L.A. I think. Some of the games in this Final have been incredible and the all-out, everything or nothing approach for both skilled and very fit teams has led to a blistering pace that was really unbelievable to watch. One player was clocked skating at 39.5 MPH which was slightly faster than my first car could go when I bought my 1935 MG in Norbury, South London, in or around 1959. In defense of my lovely yellow MG Sport Tourer with lovely red upholstery, it had been flogged to death and broke down at the first lights I came to as I proudly drove out of the dealership. It had cost me 21 years' savings of 100 pounds and the dealer must have taken pity on my tear stained cheeks since he gave me 50 pounds back when I returned it and asked for a refund.

My emotions on this are no longer stable. Revenge is not one of my active traits because life is short and it has little positive about it . So for him.... Best to move on to more productive things. Bit if he is gone the question for T. B. is.....what have I learned from this disaster and is my head and my definition and commitment to loyalty one iota smaller and more clearly defined, respectively?

Can Yogi maintain our momentum ?
YOGI : ? Means ......."You Oll getting It?" Yep, we get that you need a break so you can come back fresh as paint and twice as energetic and ready for .. more success! Forget the naysayers and their ilk and set your goals high by getting us high on goals. And don't forget to consult the oracle -- the one and only IHE. He's ITCHING to gooooo as well.

Hibs Players
Stanton is young and therefore "saveable" and able to be tutored without too many bad influences or memories of his stay under T B. By the way, he is NO relation to the former great Pat Stanton who entertained the Pimple on many a blustery Saturday afternoon at Easter Road long, long ago. In these days, never in my wildest dreams would I hav thought that Hibs would one day be relegated and by the infamous former manager of the team I really love - ICT. If only we knew what lay ahead of us...eh? Reminds me of the old saw."Wad the guid Lord the gift tae gie us to see oorselves as ithers see us". Holey Moley--all I need to do is look in the mirror daily and that tells me all I want to know aboot masel'..... Eh, IHE.?

Neill Lennon Offski
You know it never occurred to me that Lennon might go, eventually, to Hibs but if things don't improve there then who knows? But I don't think that will appeal to Neil though--first of all, Rod Petrie will be severely disinclined to pay Neil what he thinks he will be worth and in England he can hide a wee bit and maybe make it really BIG. Eventually, he may come back to Scotland but he is on record as having stated clearly that he wants to manage in England.

"Enter Willie Collum as the referee." Ha! ha! The tension will be so great the authorities felt a more relaxed approach was necessary and then Hibs would also relax and win. You see, that would be important because Easter Road can pack in over 20,000 fans whereas the other team can't. So which team is more important to the Authorities? Heh! many a word spoken in jest ... Them guys are D E V I O U S .

Can Yogi maintain our momentum ?
The prices shown here are remarkable, horrific even. For me , on a pension for income, they would not be affordable. Huge salaries for players need to be pared down in order to ensure a reduction in prices. Will it happen?--Very unlikely IMHO. But if fans refuse to appear through the gates there is a possibility that sanity will prevail. With the large teams in England packing the stadiums weekly, just think of the enormous sums of money pouring in to their coffers. Why would they reduce prices ?

Pre-season friendlies
Maybe ICT should showcase their Irish Lads against some good Irish teams--will win friends and influence people and ensure a continuous stream of good, young prospects for the future. AND it's :smile:not far to fly to.,

Summer transfer targets
If Proctor is the lad I am thinking of, he was a player who worked and tried hard and took a lot of unrelenting and unfair stick --as if nobody was ever allowed to make a mistake. or noi other player was ever as much at fault as he. Perhaps moving on and a fresh start was the right move for him though. Wonder where he is now? It's the old story isn't it-- persistent negativity undermines advancement? And it reduces the confidence of the players- especially the young who have not yet developed a thick skin and learned that it's the genuine efforts you make in life to honestly improve your circumstances , and that of others too by the way, that is really important -- not the negativity associated with often biased criticism which effectively is a form of bullying and should be consigned to the dustbin going forward.

The live video of the final that is. Smile.

Memorable moments 13/14
Er, is Terry B still at Easter Road, guys? Stranraer ----we did well to get past them didn't we? A real plucky side...eh? For me , what a season! Hanging on every comment from those who were there but somehow I managed to find a live video of the semi final and THAT was a thrill and a half. Nick's goal was such a thrill and my wife was asking "What was all that screaming about S P?" I tried to explain but I could see the eyes glassing over so I changed the subject darn quick (P.S. I think she knew very well though.. He! He!) And, again, I manipulated the computer until I found a live video of the game--what a lucky break that was too.

grass s not always greener
Had he stayed the very good chances were that by now he would be the MAN and all would be covered in glory. Down you go Mr T B.--it all could have been soooo different .

The North and South Stands
The club will be most generous in their praise for any fan who is willing to hand over a very big cheque to accomplish all this. With crowds very low for an SPL team where is all the money goingt o come from?

The North and South Stands
Was it not the same stand that was cobbled together in record time to ensure we got our SPL campaign started on time. Brilliant feat actually from all accounts ....so....? Where are you going with this young Doofer? When I stood on the terracing at the former Caledonian F C there was no side stands and the main stand was small. Sometimes you stood beside or behind trees if there was a large crowd. And sitting down was generally not an option. These were the good old days and not the modern mollycoddling days of this era.
