Captain Foran on BBC Alba @ HT
And why are there so many back passes anyway? After this happens, it puts Brill in a real spot and then he needlessly gets the blame--ridiculous. Kick the damn thing into touch rather than passing back for goodness sake.

Dundee Utd -V- Inverness C.T.
If Brill had booted that ball into touch really hard instead of trying to tap it to our player would that have saved a goal. Around the goal area you simply can't take any chances. Also, it does seem as if passing back to Brill is putting far too much emphasis on courting danger to us when the ball should be played up the park, making it farther away from our goal and closer to our objective of scoring.

Why Hughes should STAY!
And I wonder where Aberdeen would be this season without Flood and Robson? When Barry decided to come back to Scotland we could have nabbed him with great advantage because over the previous season he was outstanding with the Vancouver Whitecaps. We knew he did not have many more seasons to run and he was subbed during the League Cup Final (out of steam?)but a couple of years with him in the team would have been worth a plug. Unfortunately he probably got a considerably higher wage at the Dons which our team maybe could not match, so that alone probably put him out of the running. As for Flood he has a few years left in him I think and he is a worker and a half...pity! Great footballer too.

Top work from two hardworking and loyal guys and a motivated Manager. Time to give credit where credit is due--it takes a lot of time and work to just get this all set-up and running. OOPS! I've just intoned what has actually been facing J Hughes after he has come in to this club . He's still just getting his feet under the table for goodness sake. The two interviewers weren't scared or nuffink because they were there solely to get J. Hughes to talk not trumpet the sound of their own voices. Lastly I want to hear ClacherH2 offering to do the next interview with John. If he doesn't run out of H2O then I am sure John will adroitly deal with him kindly and with a smile on his face. As a one-time employee said to me after I fired him for not doing the work allocated--" Sniff! You get more with honey than vinegar" ---I couldn't top that since by then I had run out of expletives.- Should Hughes be SACKED?
Looks like Hibs might be though within a couple of seasons. But I'll bet that at that point they will be "Terry-less"- ButcherWatch

So, really, what you appear to be saying, Smee, is that the team's confidence is at a low point. So zest and enthusiasm is also low? That's more or less the equivalent of my pet peeve which is repeated passing back to the goalie or back and fore between the full backs. But another couple of good wins will soon sort that I feel. I understand there was sun and snow today--not the best environment for a really nice big crowd. However the crowd today was not inspiring was it? Truthfully I just don't know where we go from here to get the fans in the doors. And that could be even more depressing that a diminishing confidence of the team?- Inverness CT -V- Partick Thistle

I guess if he can control his shots and keep them DOWN he could be dynamite.- Christie
No chance of the BBC showing anything overseas re videos I am afraid Sneckboy... But thanks for the thought which I appreciate. Cheers S.P.- Can we make Saturday a near sell out
IHE--..or is it the Grim Reaper trying to get in your door. Ha? Ha!- Round the Table Chat with Yogi Hughes
Agreed. Very refreshing interview --and interesting. All the naysayers ..I hope you take this one in because if it has the effect of changing your opinion of John Hughes then that is very good for the club, for him and for your own outlook. Cheers Scarlet- Should Hughes be SACKED?
Guys! I've lost the plot as I think a few posters on 'ere have with this thread. I've been trolling my mouse down this thread wondering when it would end and now I've got tennis elbow. And the troll net has nothing in it except a couple of sardines so I may degenerate into a sardonic, salivating, sardine sandwich. So long, succulent supper's ready to ensure I can survive. And guys, please don't leave we need you to add spice to the mix. Salt and pepper and all that.- Motherwell -V- Inverness C.T.

Nick Ross is rather easily bundled off the ball. I saw this in the recent Final match. He is a neat player and, if given room, can pass his way out of trouble. But when under pressure from a determined full back for example, well.....the jury is still out, Needs to bulk up I think. All I have seen of Ryan Gauld are videos and they are impressive. I would love someone to guide me to locating and seeing a video of Ryan Christie ....?- Can we make Saturday a near sell out
I do remember the Barry Wilson testimonial, Collective Action, and it was a good night out for me too. I was there. That was the match where the (allegedly) rueful manager of Liverpool was quoted as saying, after the match, that he was going to fine his players 100 pounds each for lack of effort. Frankly, ICT did not exactly play a blinder but the score was relatively high in our favour, 5-0 I think, and I can't help but wonder if a little jiggery pokery had been pre-arranged so that good old Barrie could have a great send off and a great set of memories to go with him. Regardless , everyone went home with a big smile on their face. So all's well that ends well. And as for the fine. Did it happen? Pshaw! What do you think?- supporters branch
Now that is a positive post and well worth a second look. Not good for me since I am very far away but contact Mee for more backing and suggestions maybe.......?- Motherwell -V- Inverness C.T.
Passing back to the goalie? Shudder. As many of you will by now know, I can't stand that and the full backs passing sideways to each other either. It sends a terrible message to the opposing team that we have run out of ideas, or are afraid to take responsibility for making a pass forward .Back and forth,. Back and forth.... This seemed to be a fixture at Vancouver Whitecaps last season and where did they end up?----nowhere. HEh! Guys! the goal is down that end, not backwards. If attack is the best form of defence then let's get the ball down the park.- Should Hughes be SACKED?
Did not even bother to read this thread. I wonder why ?- We Gave It A Right Good Go
Billy looked really tired as he ran up to take the penalty. Pity we could not have another like Tansey who also did not , OR was not able to due to tiredness, hit that ball with the usual venom.- Hugh Keevins take on ICT
If you read his name backwards, he is sniffing glue! Why would anyone want to be so ungracious, on such a day's outing, to two hard-working, deserving teams frae the "heelins"? Answer: JEALOUSY.- Inverness CT -V- Aberdeen
In the 2nd half ICT gave the impression that they were just realising that they could beat the Dons handily and the silky soccer and control was back and much more obvious. Alas, it seemd to fade --tiredness? And allowing Billy to take a penalty maybe was a poor idea. I think that the team were tired at the very end and this could perhaps have been the reason for the erratic nature of the penalties. Well over the bar is not the sign of a top professional player on top of his game. Even Tansey did not hit his with venom although he scored as I recall. Also, naturally, I do think the occasion in front of such a huge crowd did have an effect on them --a bit slow and hesitant at times.? Aberdeen seemed to have a a lot of the ball but their actual chances were few and far between. The lack of Pawlett and Haynes must have been a real blow to them. Caley bottled up the midfield bigtime and the dOns werte far from invulnerable today. Oh well. If Caley thistle had scored I think they could have ran rampant. It just was not our day.- Evening Folks.
